DSP, Rooted in nature, sweet storybook, make a difference, love what you do

Tonight, the Art with Heart team are sharing creative projects featuring designer series paper. This month, Stampin’ Up! have a special on designer series paper, buy 3, get 1 free! We hope our blog hop inspires you to get crafting with your designer series paper.

I don’t know about you, but I love Designer Series Paper (DSP), I really can’t get enough of it. Ok I love ribbon and stamps and ink as well. Ok I love all Stampin’ Up products but tonight we are talking about DSP and I have loads. So, tonight is a great time to be using some. It is the perfect time to be cutting up and using the gorgeous DSP on some cards and scrapbooking pages.

I have for you 2 cards and 1 scrapbook page. I recently went to a team day and we were asked to bring along something to share made with some of the new product in the catalogue and I thought I would do a scrapbook page.

Don’t you just love this most gorgeous Share what you love specialty DSP? It is gorgeous and was perfect for some photos of a holiday we took in Malaysia 6 years ago. I know I am way behind in my photos scrapbooking, so I need to get my act into gear and Stampin’ Up has all the product with their memories and more products, so I have no excuse. My gorgeous daughter who is so tiny in this photo is now 11cms taller than me.

It’s a beautiful day stamp is from the Love what you do stamp set and the “Breathe In” sentiment is made up from the alphabet stamp set Make a difference, where you can create your own words. The DSP is cut out using the Tailored tag punch and I have layered them over the shimmery white embossing paste and the pearlized doilies.

DSP, Rooted in Nature, Nature's Poem, Z fold

My first card I have come back to a favourite simple Z Fold card that is perfect for showing off the perfect DSP. I have used the Nature’s Poem DSP for this card accompanied with my favourite returning colour Blackberry Bliss. Rooted in Nature stamp set and the leaves trinkets are just perfect for the designs I have chosen from this DSP pack. I have stamped off first the cut of wood in soft suede before stamping on whisper white just to make it a little lighter before using veramark and white embossing powder for the sentiment.

Here are a couple of different angles for you to check out the design.

For my 3rd design and 2nd card tonight I have used Twinkle Twinkle DSP with the very cute Sweet Storybook stamp set.

I have cut out the sentiment using the little banner from Petals and More Thinlits dies. The cute little mice were cut out using the Storybook Scene thinlits then cut apart after I had stamped them with the aid of my Stamparatus. The tool that everyone just has to have. It is the best thing since sliced bread! The little mice are pool party and lovely lipstick, but I stamped lovely lipstick off twice first before colouring the little mouse. The gorgeous silver and pool party and silver and petal pink bakers twine just finish off this card nicely to match the polka dots of the paper.

Stampin' Up - Art With Heart Colour Creation Blog Hop Week 5 - Blackberry Bliss

Tonight, some of the ladies of the Art With Heart team will be bringing you a blog hop featuring one of the gorgeous colours from the Stampin' Up range. Each week the lovely Cathy Proctor will be hosting the blog hop and we will be going through the colours in the range in alphabetical order. This week "Blackberry Bliss" is up and it is one of my favourite colours.
Love what you do, Rooted in Nature, fancy fold

Tonight I have made 3 cards for you and they are  very quick to make as Stampin’ Up had all the co-ordinating products to make it so easy for you to do it. As I said I love Blackbery Bliss and I was so happy to see that in the colour revamp that we got it back. YAY!

Tonight my cards are fancy folds but they are super easy and I went on a little search on the internet to five me some inspiration for a fancy fold as I like them as you know. The first fancy fold is an interlocking gate fold card, that I was inspired by Dawn Griffith I just changed some of the measurements to how I like things.
Love what you do, fancy fold

I used the gorgeous Love What You Do stamp set to great this card and don’t you just love this greeting? I sure do and it will be one I will be using a lot for cards for my friends.

I have used the blackberry bliss cardstock for the bass then the gorgeous DSP is the Nature’s Poem. Oh I can’t get enough of this gorgeous DSP just as well there is a sale on right now where you can buy 3 and get 1 for free on selected DSP and Nature’s Poem is one of the DSP in the special.
I have stamped the background stamp in powder pink and then the flowers in Blackberry Bliss before stamping the greeting over the top in Memento black ink.
Love what you do, fancy fold

To get the interlocking part of the card. I cut out 2 ovals from our famelits one a little smaller on the inside to get the outside frame and then used that smaller one to cut out the greeting that I had stamped on whisper white card stock. I adhered the frame to one side and the greeting to the other side and there you have your interlocking gatefold card.

To make the next 2 cards I used the Thick Whisper White card stock as the base card. This design is called a Double Triangle Fold and I got this inspiration from Dawn Olchefske.
Rooted in nature, fancy fold

Again the gorgeous Natures Poem DSP has been used and as it is double sided I have just used one piece and turned over to make both cards.

The stamp set that I have used for these cards is Rooted In Nature and is a lovely stamp set. I have used tranquil tide ink with the leaves and have stamped off before stamping on the whisper white card stock to make it a little lighter before stamping the greetings in Blackberry Bliss. I have then cut out the greeting using our stitched shape framelits and backed it with blackberry bliss cut out using the layering oval framelits.

I have popped these greetings up on dimensionals after using some of the new gorgeous ribbons and cord that are in the annual catalogue.

To get the card base you have one piece of thick whisper white card stock and first score it in half the turn the card stock around and score it in half again. Now you should have a card that looks like you have 4 quarters. Now you need to cut your card base diagonally and you will have 2 card bases ready to go.
