A Card From Me to You!

Hello lovely Friends,

Hope that you are having a great day. We have sunshine here in Melbourne after a huge weekend of rain and storms. If you live in Melbourne I hope that you weren't hit too badly. We only had a big branch down on a gate so not too much damage so that was good. There has been a lot of flooding in Queensland and NSW as well so I hope that you are all fairing well.

Yes finally I have something to show you. Yesterday I spent a lovely day with my lovely friend Claire, we did lots of talking and I managed to get a couple of cards made as well. One I will show you now and one you will have to wait until April. I was so lucky to get to play with a couple of new goodies that will be coming out in April from Stampin' Up so I won't spoil the surprise.

So I have all this green card stock given to me by my gorgeous friend Shaz so I will slowly use this up but that is why I have another green card fro you. I have made and Easel Card using Stampin' Up Products except the base card but it is very similar in colour to Hunter Green so you could always use that card if you happen to be casing this card. The stamps sets that I have used are from the 2009-2010 idea book and they are both hostess sets, Best yest and Echoes of Kindness. I used water colour paper and the crayons to colour the image.

Hope that you like it, and like usual I have given you all angles so you get a feel for the card.

Here is the card closed:

The card standing up.

This is the card open and laying flat. I added the insert so that you could write a note on it to the person you may be sending this card to. It is in 2 parts so accommodate the fold in the card.

Here is the side on view so you get the idea of how its stands up.

Thanks for stopping by and spending a little time with me today.

March already!

Hi Everyone,

Yes I know that I haven't been on here for a while. I must admit that I was so busy at the end of last year that I just didn't have time and I lost a bit of the old mojo so didn't feel like making the time either. Plus I haven't really been looking at any of your blogs to feel inspired but I feel the need to get back into it and to see what wonderful creations you have all come up with.

Then of course came the big 40th and my lovely husband surprised me with a visit from my Mum and Dad for 2 weeks and a surprise birthday party. He really out did himself. It is not his thing to do and he did a fantastic job with help from some lovely friends who were all very sneaky. Thank you everyone.

Now of course we have started renovations on the 1st of Feb and things are all over the place so I have been taking lots of photos so I can do a renovations album. We have a long way to go yet but I already have over 150 photos. I don't think I will be using all of them though. But it is fun to see the progress of what we hope will be a fantastic new space for us. I will then get Michael into his own office and get my craft space back to myself! Ssshhh don't tell him, I said that.

I am looking forward to doing the rounds and finally doing some creating so watch this space. I have a Shop, Swap and Sell night coming up for my Girlfriends night at church in April so I had better get started on making some cards and other things for that.

Hope that this finds you all well.

Thanks for stopping by.

Take care.

Christmas Is - Day 12 Challenge for Show and Tell Cards

Hello and thank you for stopping by. Today I have for you something special. Sunshine is Sponsoring Day 12 of the 24 days of Christmas at Show and Tell Cards. So Sunshine is also gave us a sketch to use for that challenge. Here is what I came up with.

Here is the sketch from Sunshine for Day 12 of 24 Days of Christmas

The stamps are from Sunshine’s Stamps: Christmas is, Christmas Morning, Candle Ornament and Ribbon, The ribbon and DSP are Stampin’ Up as is the whisper white card stock and the ink used. There are too many colours to list but the fun thing is when you get the stamp from Sunshine you can use what ever colours you like. The Rhinestonse are Kaisercraft. And yes you guessed it if you have been looking at my blog lately. The green base card is from my friend. I think I will be able to make every card for the next year using this base green card that she gave me.

So go on over to Show and Tell cards and check out the 24 days of Christmas and especially day 12 for Sunshine’s Sketch challenge and a chance to win some goodies.

Thanks for spending a little bit of your precious time with me and I will see you again very soon.

Wishing you a Beary Merry Christmas - MMSC30

HI, how are you today? Hope that you are all well. I am bringing you an extra post this week as Sunshine is sponsoring the Midnight Madness sketch this week. So make sure you head on over and look at all the goodies you could win by entering the sketch this week.

Well I just love this image that Sunshine sent me for this challenge, it is the Christmas Bear. He is so adorable. I hope that you like him.

Well here is my card using the MMSC30 sketch. We also had the added challenge the theme of wings and things. Basically anything that could fly in the air. I chose stars.

I have used Stampin’ Up designer series paper and I am loving them, Stampin’ Up whisper white card stock was used to print out Sunshine’s Stamp Xmas Bear. The base card is still that green card stock given to me by my friend. Yes I still have heaps left. The colours that I used to colour the bear are Creamy Caramel, More Mustard, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Garden Green. Basic Grey. The Star Brads are from Renoir. I popped up the bear and the sentiment with dimensionals.

Here is the sketch:

Have a Holly Jolly Christmas

Hello again, another week has passed and it was a hugely emotional one for me. We had 2 deaths in the family this past couple of weeks so I am going to make this a short post.

Today’s card is using Sunshine’s Stamps Holly Jolly Snow Ball Fight image and her sentiment Have a Holly Jolly Christmas. The Holly are just so cute. I was also given the added challenge of using paper piercing. I am not a big user of it as I’m not that good at keeping everything straight. I might have to get a guide to help me. Anyway I did use paper piercing around the edge of the image as well as one other place, see if you can pick it. (It isn’t that hard so I’m sure you will find it very easily)

I have based the card around a sketch at sweet sketch Wednesday. Not exactly the same but pretty close.

Here is the card.

Here is the sketch:

I have used all Stampin Up’ Product except for Sunshine’s Stamps of course and the pearls. Hope you like it.

Well Guess what I have just re-read Sunshine’s e-mail and the challenge wasn’t paper piercing it was paper piecing. Well Don’t I feel foolish LOL! Well as I had already finished the card I have been a bit sneaky and printed out the image again and I have layered the scarves on the holly. I have left them unattached at the bottom of the scarves so that it looks like they are blowing in the wind. I actually like the added scarves better than the original. Here is what it looks like now.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day.

Silent Night - Christmas Card

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for stopping by to see what I have been up to. Well Just a quick post for you this week. I have for you another Card made with Sunshine’s images. I have used Sunshine’s Silent Night Sentiment and also her poinsettia image for this card. Sunshine asked us to chose a sentiment and then she sent us the image that she had created for that sentiment so that is why I have a poinsettia as well. I love Poinsettias which we had not come across before we lived in the U.S. but on returning to Australia they are more prevalent here. I have also used Crazy 4 Challenges Sketch for the design of the card.

Here is the card:

This is the Sketch from Crazy 4 Challenges

The Recipe for this card:

Stamps: Sunshine’s Stamps Silent Night and Poinsettia digital images
Card stock: Green base card unknown. (Yes I have heaps and heaps of it)
Stampin Up’s Riding Hood Red, Very Vanilla and DSP Christmas (2008)
Ink: Stampin’Up: Riding Hood Red, Real Read, Rose Red, Handsome Hunter, Always Artichoke
Other: Fiskars Filigree texture plate, Ribbon not sure of the name but it is very pretty.
Tools: personal trimmer, double sided tape, dimensionals, bone folder, sponge dauber.
I Popped up the sentiment using dimensionals and cut out the poinsettia and popped it up on it's own.

Sorry that this is such a quick post but I know that this time of year we are all getting a bit busy with school, work and Christmas events. So Enjoy your week and I will see you again next Monday. Don't forget to have a look at the rest of Sunshine's Design Team Blogs for more inspiration for your Christmas Cards, you can find their blogs on my sidebar.

Bye For Now

Christmas Cards - I just love Christmas

Hello again and thank you for stopping by to see what I have been up to. Well heaps actually. I have a couple of different cards to show you today. And yes as the title of the post suggests I just love Christmas time where we get to celebrate the birth of Jesus. I just love watching the kids get excited as they open there presents and I love Christmas carols. Here in Australia it is summer at Christmas but I still have to cook a turkey and a plum pudding. Mind you I’m the only one who likes plum pudding so last year I decided to do an ice cream one instead. We were so full from our lunch we didn’t get to eat it. It is still in the freezer. Maybe I should try it before Christmas to see if it is any good and whether I should make another one for this year. A lot of Australians are now opting to have seafood for Christmas instead of the traditional Turkey roast. It is really the only time that we get to eat turkey so I don’t want to stop. O.k. enough about Christmas time apart from to say that I got married 3 days after Christmas, my birthday is 4 days after and my husband has his birthday 5 days after. So really a big week of celebration.

Well on to the cards

Firstly I will show you the card I made for Sunshine’s Stamps. This week we were challenged to use one of Sunshine’s Sentiments as our main focal point. Well I saw a card on Splitcoast Stampers that I thought I should give a try and would be great for a Sentiments card. It is called a Joy Fold and you can find it here.

I have used Sunshine’s Glory to God sentiment as I thought it would be great to get a Christmas card done. Been rather slack and haven’t really made too many to give away apart from this one and the card I will show you after this one.

Well here is is I hope you like it. I have take a photo of the card closed, half open and then completely open so that you get to see all the different aspects of the card.

As you can see there is a place to write on the inside of the card.

I have used Sunshine’s Stamps Glory to God digital stamp
The green card stock was a gift and I don’t know the brand of it but it is good for Christmas time.
Other Card Stock is from Stampin’ Up and I used Whisper White and Purely Pomegranate.
The DSP is also Stampin’ Up and I have used Paper from Berry Bliss, Bella Rose and a Christmas pack from the previous year that I had left over,
I have sponged the edges of the sentiment with purely pomegranate ink.
The Ribbon is Stampin’ Up Old Olive Striped Grosgrain
The pearls are kaisercraft.

I want to show you also what I was up to in the past week. I run, along with some lovely ladies who help me, a night out for the girls at my church. We do this once a month. Well on Thursday night it was out last one for the year as Christmas time is very busy for us at our church. As it was out last time together for this year we went out to dinner. We had a great time and there were 18 of us. Well once I knew how many were coming I thought I would make a Christmas card for everyone. In my last post you saw that I had just found the easel card well I thought it would be perfect for this great stamp set from Stampin’ Up called A wish for Peace. Well I set about to make 20 just in case a couple of extras turned up and I ended up making 19 as I made a mistake on one.

Here is the photo of the cards all together. O.k. so there are only 18 there not 19. I thought it looked better with just 18 in the photo but you get the idea. Now I have to be very specific about the numbers as my Son would pick me up on that and come to think of it so would my daughter. LOL!

I have used Stampin’ Up’s A Wish for Peace stamp set.
I have used the same green card stock that was given to me. I have many, many pieces of this card stock (thank you Shaz) so I can make a lot of cards with it.
Stampin’ Up card stock very vanilla, I stamped the image and sentiment onto this and if you flip the card open I also had a little note to everyone inside.
The DSP was also Stampin’ Up and was part of the purely pomegranate range which was last years in colour. (I still love it)
The ink used was Stampin’ Up chocolate chip, Old Olive and Handsome Hunter.
The Technique used on the main stamp was markers direct to stamp. I used both the old olive and handsome hunter on the tree to give some depth to the tree.
I also used Renoir star brads to hold the easel up.

Hope that you like both these cards and I look forward to seeing you next week when I will be back with another Christmas card to show you.

Thanks for stopping by.

Heart of Christmas 2025 - Week 3

Welcome to Week 3 of the Heart of Christmas for 2025. This week I needed a quick card that used no ink! Yes no ink! I have had issues with...
