Lester Lobster, Hayseed Hank and Stinky Steve

Hi, hope all of you are enjoying your day or evening depending on where you are in the world. Here in Melbourne it is a blustery, wintery day. We are forecast to have rain and hail later today most likely at school pickup.

Well here in Victoria the kids have just finished the Victorian Premier’s Reading Challenge. My lovely daughter was so excited to take part that she finished the number of listed challenge books in 2 weeks, which was 20 challenge books and 10 of your own choice. Mind you she had from February to August to finish them. She did however keep reading and we added most of the books to the list. Later in the year she will have her name printed in the paper and school has already given her a certificate. Not bad for 7 years old.

This inspired me to make a couple of book marks for her to use in her books. I have used Sunshine’s Stamps latest releases: Lester Lobster and Hayseed Hank. Here is what I came up with:

Lester Lobster is printed out on Whisper white card stock and then I cut him and put him on Chocolate chip card stock to give him a bit more stability. I also used Creative Memories Perfect Fit orange patterned paper in the base of the book mark. The colours that I used for Lester are from Stampin’ Up: Ruby Red, Really Rust, Only Orange, Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip.

Hayseed Hank has heaps more colours but again I printed him out on Whisper White card stock and backed him with green card stock which was given to me by my good friend Shaz so I’m not sure of the exactly colour name for it. The Designer Series Paper is Old Olive from Stampin’ Up. The colours are also Stampin’ Up: Close to Cocoa, Always Artichoke, Old Olive, Mellow Moss, Blush Blossom, Going Grey, Basic Grey, Sahara Sand, Yoyo Yellow, Summer Sun, More Mustartd, Really Rust, Ruby Red, Real Red, Cameo Coral and Regal Rose.
Here they are in a couple of books so you can see what that looks like.

Sunshine also released Stinky Steve this week so I thought I would give him a go as well. I do like the trucks for male cards. Mind you last week I did Hocker Docker Helicopter in Pink for Sarah. Nothing to say we have to be gender biased.

Well there are a couple of Challenge places that I have been able to combine using Stinky Steve. I have used it for Mojo Monday turns 100 day 6 sketch and also for Digital Tuesday which is featuring male cards this week.

I have printed him out on Whisper White Card Stock, The card base is Night of Navy and Soft Sky. The DSP is also Stampin’ Up and is from the new Urban Garden pack. The ribbon is also Soft Sky. The colours used for Stinky Steve are Basic Grey, Going Grey, Basic Black, Yoyo yellow, Brocade Blue, Bashful Blue, Night of Navy, Blush blossom and Creamy Caramel.

I have heaps more to show you but that will have to wait as I really need to do some housework before school pickup today.

Thanks for stopping by and take care.
