Stampin' Up - Art With Heart Team Blog Hop January 2019 - Occasions Catalogue

Tonight, the Art with Heart team are sharing creative projects using product from the occasions catalogue. The occasions catalogue is current now until June 3rd. Be sure to request your copy of the catalogue today (along with the sale-a-bration brochure).
Did you know that sale-a-bration is also a great time to join our fabulous team. Ask anyone on the blog hop if you’d like more details.

I was very excited when I saw this suite in the Occasions catalobue as I not only love to stamp and do paper crafts but I also love to sew. I have used the Needlepoint Nook Suite.

I have used the colours of the Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper as my guide for the colour combination for both cards. I was having a bit of a play with this set as we were doing a card swap as a team and these are the 2 cards that I came up with.

My first card tonight is the one on the right.
Needlpoint nook , needle and thread, needlepoint elements framelits, rhapsody in craft, art with heart

I have used the colours Berry Burst, Flirty Flamingo, Mossy Meadow, Balmy blue.  To make the little squares I have stamped the flowers in the different colours and then stamped the flower on a  separate piece of paper and cut it out as a mask to place over the flower so that I could stamp the little leaves. I then used the stitched shaped framelits to cut out all the squares. On the Whisper white layer I have used one of the embossing framelits that come in the needlepoint elements which is just so pretty. I popped them all up on dimensionals. I used the memento ink for the sentiment and then put it thought the big shot to add the stitching and punched it out with with the pretty label punch and offset it with the gorgeous balmy blue.

For my second card I went all out and this is the card I used for my swap. I went hunting for a card sketch to use for this one just to give me an idea on design. I found a great one on dawnstampinthoughts for the layout.
I love giving myself the challenge of sketches to see what I can come up with.

The colours in this card are again take from the gorgeous Needlepoint Nook DSP. Night of Navy, Balmy Blue, Highland Heather, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Petal Pink and Whisper white.

Using the gorgeous DSP as your colours guide make it so easy to know what colours go together.
Again with this card I have used the embossing framelit in the needlepoint elements framelit dies then cut it out with the layering ovals dies and backed it with some highland heather. The sentiment has been inked up with Night of navy then put through the big shot with the stitched shaped framellits.

The flowers are soft and subtle in powder pink and backed with mossy meadow and old olive leaves were all cut out with the needlepoint framelits and then layered together over the gorgeous DSP. Don't you just love this paper?

Don't forget to decorate the inside of your card it can be as simple as putting a little sentiment and a flower.

Now it’s time to hop on over to our next participant, the very talented, Kimberley Hern.

Stampin' Up! - Colour Creations Blog Hop - Night Of Navy

Night of Navy is a gorgeous colour and this week’s colour creations challenge.

Tonight, I have made a card and a little chocolate gift purse. I need to make an invitation for my first church Girlfriend’s night back that I run once a month. We are having a fundraising dinner to raise money to empower, educate and help fund start up businesses for women in Africa. We will be doing little fundraisers throughout the year. We meet on the 2nd Thursday of the month and for February it will be Valentines day so a love dinner will be a great way to start!

For my card I have used the Butterfly Gala stamp set which is in the new Occasions catalogue. I just love Butterflies and I the sentiment I think is just great for an invitation. Who wouldn’t feel welcome when they see this sentiment… “The food things in life are better with you” Then I will put the invitation on the inside of the card.

So what did I use to decorate the card front. I first put the Night of Navy card stock through the big shot with the Subtle TIEF just to give the card base a little bit of texture.  The blue butterflies are part of the Botanical Butterfly Designer series paper that is found in the Sale- A bration catalogue and I have used the dark and light Night of Navy Blends to colour them in. You can get this gorgeous paper for free when you spend $90 on product. I think I might have to spend some more to get another lot.

I stamped the sentiment on whisper white card stock in Night of navy ink and cut it out with the stitched shape framelits and popped it up on some dimensionals over the burlap ribbon. The little butterfly is stamped in memento and then I have used so saffron, and powder pink for the colours. With the stamp set it is so easy to colour your butterflies as they give you the solid stamps to do so if you would like. Plus, a little bling and your card is done! Of course, you can colour your butterflies any complimentary colour you like.

For our little chocolate treat bags, I found the design on Dawn Stamping thoughts and she used a 6x6 inch piece of designer series paper. I have used the Garden Impressions DSP which has Night of Navy as one of its colours and they are already in 6x6. A little bit of folding, a couple of pieces of night of navy card stock and it is so cute. I cut out the clasp to my bag with the pretty label punch and used the Needlepoint elements framelits dies to get the beautiful stitched edge.  It fits perfectly inside the punch.

I attached the clasp to the back of the bag with tear and tap and then to hold everything in place I used little Velcro dots. I put the chocolates in first to make sure I had the correct position before closing the clasp down and adhering it all in place.

The ribbon is so much fun and it is part of the Classic Garage suite in the Occasions Catalogue and could possibly be classed as a male oriented suite but I just love the black and silver striped ribbon for all things and my daughter would love this as she isn’t a very pink and girly girl, so these colours would be perfect for her!

As I am actually doing the little bags for ladies other than my daughter, I thought I had better put a pink butterfly on the front of the clasp so you would know which side you needed to open to get to your chocolates. You can put what ever chocolates you like in these, I have put in some favourites but 2 ferero rochers fit in them as well

To cut out the butterflies in both projects I have used the new butterfly duet punch found in the new Occasions catalogue!

As always if you would like any details on how to make these items or would like to get your hands on the products and the new Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalogues don’t hesitate to contact me.

Please head over now to the lovely Cathy Proctors Blog to see who else is participating in this week’s colour challenge.

Thank you for spending some time with me today.

Stampin' Up - Colour Creations Blog Hop - Mint Macaron

Have you ever had one of those days when everything you tried seems to just go wrong? Well it just seemed that way today with my cards. They just didn't seem to work out quite like how I had them in my head and then when I went to put them together things went a bit nutty as well. I'm sure you can relate some days. Well I have photographed my cards anyway so you can see the results of my crazy head day.

I was really happy when Mint Macaron came back as one of the colours in the revamp of the colours it is such a lovely color so even though my cards didn't quite turn out how I expected I hope you get an idea of what you can do with this colour and some embossing folders as I wanted to play around with them today.

Make sure you also head over to the lovely Catherine Procter as she hosts our Colour creations Blog Hop each week.

So for my first card I got all the way through making them both and photographing them and about to load them up onto my blog and then thought after it not quite turning out how I had thought plus a few other things not going to plan it dawned on me that the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder was in the holiday catalogue so was not available anymore. So I frantically looked up the carry over list and to my relief it will be an item that we can still get. I have paired it with the new Amazing Life stamp set that you can find on page 28 of the new Occassions Catalogue.

I have used the light and dark Blackberry Bliss Blends to colour in the word happy and underneath my greeting you can find the whisper white flax ribbon set off with the blackberry bliss twine from the Nature's Twine combo in the Annual Catalogue.

The Tin tile was used twice and I cut a couple of squares from the second piece to add a little bit of interest and dimension to the front of the card and  using the sponge daubers and some mint macaron ink added a little bit of vintage look to the whole card. This was all popped up on some dimensionals and layered on a piece of Tranquil textures DSP and a base of Thick Whisper White card stock.

For my second card I wanted to play with the new Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies which you can also find on page 28 of the new Occassions Catalogue. I was trying to have a fun monochromatic layered effect but I'm not quite sure I achieved it. Anyway I still think it looks ok plus the textures of the embossing folders work really well and you can use a whole heap of embossing folders and with all the different rectangles you can make heaps of different layouts and make quite a few different designed cards.

Here is a close up of the different layers for you so you can see the embossing. I have used the subtle Dynamic Textured at the back and then used the Petal Pair Embossing folders  for the other 2 layers.
Amazing life, rectangle stitched framelit, subtle embossing, petal pair embossing, rhapsody in craft, mint macaron,

I have of course layered all of these embossed whisper white pieces onto mint macaron card stock and they have all been cut out using the new rectangle stitched shaped framelits and mounted onto a base of Thick whisper white card stock. The sentiment comes from the same stamp set that I used on the first card Amazing Life, it is a great stamp set. The ribbon can be found in the new Occasions  catalogue on page 43 and is called Black and Silver striped metallic ribbon.

If you would like anymore details about these cards or would like details about the New Occasions Catalogue please don't hesitate to contact me.
