Week 26 - Colour Creations Showcase - " Merry Merlot"

This week's colour has fast become one of my favourites and I love that it is one of our regular colours.

This week Merry Merlot

So today I have made a Birthday Card for you. I wanted to try a little bit of a different edge to the card and just do a very subtle colouring. It is a card that you could actually make quite a few of and then just add a different sentiment for when you need a card for different occasions.

rhapsodyincract, Rhapsody in craft, Merry Merlot, Prized Peony, Peony Dies, Tailored Tag Punch, Subtle 3D, Colour Creations Showcase, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!, #colourcreationsshowcase, Stampin' Up Annual Catalogue 2020-21

I have used the Prized Peony stamp set and Peony Dies to make this card and then I wanted to make it a Birthday card so I  went for the trusty Here's a Card stamp set for the sentiment.
To work out what punch to use I actually stamped it 3 times and picked 3 different punches that I thought might work and still went with the punch that I thought I was going to chose in the first place. That is ok. I have 2 others ready and waiting to be used later!

rhapsodyincract, Rhapsody in craft, Merry Merlot, Prized Peony, Peony Dies, Tailored Tag Punch, Subtle 3D, Colour Creations Showcase, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!, #colourcreationsshowcase, Stampin' Up Annual Catalogue 2020-21

I have for the base of the card used the Merry Merlot card stock and as I wanted the Prized Peony to be the edge of the front of my card, after folding it in half I then cut off about 2.5 cm or 1 inch of the front edge! This allowed the Peonies to hang over and make a pretty scalloped edge.

rhapsodyincract, Rhapsody in craft, Merry Merlot, Prized Peony, Peony Dies, Tailored Tag Punch, Subtle 3D, Colour Creations Showcase, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!, #colourcreationsshowcase, Stampin' Up Annual Catalogue 2020-21

On the inside of the card under the edge of the peonies I added a strip of Gold Brushed Metallic Card Stock for that subtle bit of bling to the card. And speaking of Subtle have you noticed that the white background has been embossed in the Subtle 3D embossing folder?

To colour the Peonies I first stamped them in Merry Merlot and the using my sponge dauber I just coloured the centre in a circular motion before using the Peony dies to cut them out. I stamped the leaves in Mossy Meadow and then used the dies to cut them out also.

This is quite a quick and easy card to make with this bundle and you can add any sentiment you like and a bit of a fun way to add a bit of interest to the edge of your cards! I hope you give it a try.

Week 25 - Colour Creations Showcase - Melon Mambo

Today we are looking at the gorgeous bright pink Melon Mambo! I thought that I should ink up one of the stamp sets that I had for a little while and wanted to but had yet and it was calling my name. I think I needed a lot of coffee today!
Rhapsody in craft, Melon Mambo, Nothing's Better Than, Love you more than dies, Plaid Tidings, STampin' Blends, Friendship Cards, Colour Creation Showcase, Stampin' Up

Yes you guess it! It is the Nothing Better Than Bundle! I know how could it have taken me so long to get ink on this stamp set. I agree with you it is rather cute!

This is my colour combination for my card today plus some of the gorgeous Brushed metallic card stock which is just the best!

I have the most gorgeous friend and I don't think I would have gotten through this year without her. She has a wonderful daughter that is a social worker and is the Health and Well being Officer at a school for kids that come from some very difficult circumstances. When I was making this card I was thinking of her. Coffee and Chocolate are her go to treats.

Rhapsody in craft, Melon Mambo, Nothing's Better Than, Love you more than dies, Plaid Tidings, STampin' Blends, Friendship Cards, Colour Creation Showcase, Stampin' Up

I thought  mess of the gold chord and the whisper white crinkled seam binding was a perfect metaphor for this year and for my friend's daughter. With how messy this year has been and how messy life can be for some of her students she makes everything better just like coffee and chocolate!

Rhapsody in craft, Melon Mambo, Nothing's Better Than, Love you more than dies, Plaid Tidings, STampin' Blends, Friendship Cards, Colour Creation Showcase, Stampin' Up

I cut out the label with the from the Tasteful label dies then after positioned the sentiments before stamping. I cut out the Coffee and Chocolate dies before adding the word "AND" There is not a single "and" in the stamp set but I used a piece of sticky tape of the rest of the words before inking and then took off the tape before stamping on the card. Once I had stamped the "AND" I used the Tombow glue to adhere the label. The cute little coffee cups are coloured in Melon Mambo and Cinnamon Cider stampin blends and the chocolates are stamped in Melon Mambo ink!

Rhapsody in craft, Melon Mambo, Nothing's Better Than, Love you more than dies, Plaid Tidings, STampin' Blends, Friendship Cards, Colour Creation Showcase, Stampin' Up

On the inside of the card I have cut out other cute coffee cup and adhered it and also stamped some steam rising from the cup.

All of these fun element are on a base of Night of Navy, Brushed Metallic, Melon Mambo card stock and a piece of plaid tidings.

Heart of Christmas - November 2020

Hello and welcome to our last Heart of Christmas showcase for 2020.  I can hardly believe that we are quite here at the almost end of the year and at the same time it is almost like we are in the car as a child going, "are we there yet?"

Tonight I have a quick card using our beautiful Brushed Metallic Cardstock which you can find on page 45 of the Aug-Dec Mini catalogue. It comes in Bronze, Copper and Gold and I have used all 3 in my card and added a dash of Red Foil that you can find on page 22 of the Mini.

Rhapsody in craft, Arrange a Wreath, Brushed Metallic Cards Stock, Aug-Dec Mini 2020, 2020-21 Annual Catalogue, Stampin' Up, Stampinup, In Good Taste DSP, Lovely Labels Pick a Punch, Christmas Cards, Christmas, Heart of Christmas 2020

I have decided to use the Arrange a wreathe bundle from the annual Catalogue for tonight's quick card and also a little bit of paper from the In Good Taste DSP and the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch.

Rhapsody in craft, Arrange a Wreath, Brushed Metallic Card Stock, Aug-Dec Mini 2020, 2020-21 Annual Catalogue, Stampin' Up, Stampinup, In Good Taste DSP, Lovely Labels Pick a Punch, Christmas Cards, Christmas, Heart of Christmas 2020

For this card I have layered my wreath onto strips 3.4 x 9.5 cm wide of In Good Taste DSP and then onto a piece of Garden Green card 10x 14.5 cm which I have popped up on dimensional. I waited to add it to my card base of Garden green until my wreath was attached with the Poppy Parade and gold trim ribbon from the All the Trimmings ribbon combo pack.

For the wreath I have cut die the Bronze, Copper and Gold Brushed Metallic Card Stock and adhered it to each other and the card front using Tombow multipurpose glue.

I have used the red foil for the poinsettia and the bow of our wreath to add just that extra bit of bling.

The sentiment is stamped in Sahara sand and punch out with the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch and popped up on some dimensionals. You might notice some gold, brass and copper baubles behind my card, they are hanging on my tree as I have already put it up and decorated it. I still need to decorate the rest of the house however.

I chose to do the card opening vertically as I thought is worked better for the wreath. On the inside I placed a little strip of the In Good Taste DSP to decorate my card.

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and have lots of fun making and sending out your Christmas cards

Now please head over to our host's blog for one more time, my friend and very creative Judy May. There you will find a list of the team who are participating tonight.

AWHT - Creative Showcase November 2020 - 5 Supplies Only

Today the Art With Heart team are bringing to you project using just 5 Supplies plus the basics of your trimmer, paper snips, adhesive and bone folder! Now this can be quite a challenge for someone like me who loves all the supplies and I must admit I wanted to add just one more but I didn't. Not everyone has a lot of supplies so I am excited to see the creative ways the team have come up with using 5 supplies.

Here are the 5 supplies that I used in my project tonight:
Product List
Today I am going to show you how to make a Mini Pocket book with 1 sheet of 12 x 12 Designer series Paper and 1 piece of card stock. Then you can decorate how you would like!

Rhapsody in craft, Itty Bitty Christmas, Poinsettia Place DSP, 5 supplies only, Mini Pocket Book, fun Fold, One Sheet DSP, Christmas Gifts, Christmas, Creative Showcase,#loveitchopit, Stampin' Up!

It really is quite a cute little gift idea.

Rhapsody in craft, Itty Bitty Christmas, Poinsettia Place DSP, 5 supplies only, Mini Pocket Book, fun Fold, One Sheet DSP, Christmas Gifts, Christmas, Creative Showcase,#loveitchopit, Stampin' Up!

All you need is 1 sheet of your choice of Designer Series paper and you fold it down to this cute little booklet that has pockets that you can add anything you like

Rhapsody in craft, Itty Bitty Christmas, Poinsettia Place DSP, 5 supplies only, Mini Pocket Book, fun Fold, One Sheet DSP, Christmas Gifts, Christmas, Creative Showcase,#loveitchopit, Stampin' Up!

I have used a few of the different stamps from the Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp set to decorate the inside of my booklet. Here I have cut little inserts and stamped From our house to yours and put a photo of our dog Spartacus on the next insert to give you a little idea of the kinds of things you could do.

Rhapsody in craft, Itty Bitty Christmas, Poinsettia Place DSP, 5 supplies only, Mini Pocket Book, fun Fold, One Sheet DSP, Christmas Gifts, Christmas, Creative Showcase,#loveitchopit, Stampin' Up!

On these 2 inserts I thought I could write my favourite Christmas recipe for shortbread or some other family favourite.

Of course there are a few more spaces than the ones I have highlighted so use your imagination and you could also write a little bit about your year and maybe a photo of you and your family not just the family pet.

I have also made a video for you to follow along with and there are written instructions below with the extra few measurement that you will need.

1. The first thing you need to do is get your 12 x12 sheet of DSP and fold in half and burnish with your bone folder
2. Open the DSP out and fold the edge up to but not over that centre fold line. Do that on both sides.
3 Open the DSP turn the paper and fold it in half the other way.
4. Now with your paper trimmer or score board keeping the paper with the single middle fold line vertical to you score at 5.1 cm or 2 inches and 25.4 cm or 10 inches
5. Fold these 2 score lines in as these form the pockets. This is where you decide which side is the outside of your booklet.
6. Adhere with multipurpose glue just at the very ends of these 2 fold in all 4 corners to create the pockets.
7. now get your trimmer back out place the long vertical 12 inch fold line on the cutting line. Line up the blade with the first horizontal score line. (you should have 3 horizontal lines to create 4 sections) Line up with the first AND cut through the other 3 LEAVING 1 section NOT cut!
8. Using the Multipurpose glue fold the section not cut back onto it self and adhere together leaving the pocket side showing. Glue just that one section. Do not glue any other section.
9. Now we can fold back and forth concertina style to form the book.
10. To create the spine cut 4 inches x 1 1/4 inches or 10.2 x 3.2 cm and score vertically at 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch or 1.3 cm and 1.9 cm
11. Adhere this with Multipurpose glue to the spine of your booklet. Making sure you leave the pocket page side open.
12. For the inserts Garden Green 9.5 x 7 cm and 9.5 x 6.5 cm
13. For Whisper White Insert 9 x 6.5 cm and 9 x 6 cm
14. Front Sentiment Whisper white is 4x4 cm and Garden green is 4.5 x4.5 cm
15. You can now decorate the inside and outside how you would like.
