Rhapsody in craft, #heartofchristmas2021,#heartofchristmas, Christmas Cards, For Unto Us, Peaceful Place Specialty DSP, Silver Foil Specialty Pack, Evening Evergreen, Genial Gems, Stampin' Up!

To accompany the Peaceful Place SDSP I have used Evening Evergreen as the card base and layered it with Silver Foil added a little Evening Evergreen Open Weave ribbon and Genial Gems after I had stamped the greeting from the stamp set For Unto Us in Evening Evergreen.

On the inside of the card I have carried the same theme through and added the silver foil and the strip along the bottom of the Peaceful Place SDSP that I had trimmed from the front.

You could do this with any colour you liked, Night of Navy would be fantastic as Blue and Silver go so well together or even Real Red and Cherry Cobbler and use the Holiday Rhinestone Gems or the Red Rhinestone gems to add your bling. The possibilities are endless.

Week 16 - Heart of Christmas

Welcome to Week 16 of Heart of Christmas. Can you believe we are now only 68 day away from Christmas day! EEK! No don't panic because if you have been following along with the Heart of Christmas for the last 16 weeks you have got a lovely stash of Christmas cards ready to go and you will be able to send them out and be happy that you have ticked that very special task off your to do list for Christmas. Plus all that joy you have spread with your homemade cards.

This week I thought I would CASE a card from the July-December Mini catalogue and get out my Wise Men and make a shaker card. I haven't really ever made one but I have seen many tips and I thought well I am just going for it!

Rhapsody in Craft, Great Tidings, Great Tidings Bundle, Wise Men Tidings Dies, Sequins For Everything, Clear Envelopes, Gold Metallic Specialty Paper, Beauty of the Earth DSP, Stampin' Up, #heartofchristmas, Christmas Card, Shaker Cards,

You will find this card on page 15 of the mini catalogue and as I hadn't used the frame die yet I wanted to use it and thought well this was the perfect opportunity to try it.

To make this card I needed to work on the background of my window cut out first.

I am not sure if you can tell but I have used some night of navy with my blending brushes on the left panel to make it a little darker. The paper is from the Beauty of the Earth DSP and making it a little darker means the Wise Men are walking through twilight rather than daylight or pitch black.

Now for the front of the card I have used the gorgeous Gold Metallic paper that comes in the 6x6 pack with the Rose Gold it is just stunning and I cut it down to a card front size and used a strip that I had left over to decorate the inside of the card. Using the dies I cut out the frame. Then I used the Clear 14.6 x 11.1 cm Envelopes and adhered it to the back of the gold layer. I did have to fold the edges in a little and adhere them down but not too much and I left the opening at the bottom so I could fold it over more to keep the sequins from the Sequins for everything pack up in the area I wanted.

Now another tip apart from using an envelope for your sequins. Do not shake it with the envelope still open if you want to see if you have enough in there because you will need to put more in there as they will go flying out!

Once all sealed I adhered it to the Beauty of the Early layer with dimensionals. I would have used the foam adhesive strips that I have but they like the sequins decided to fly around my craft room and I couldn't place my hand on them. Always the way when you want to use something! Must be time for a tidy of the craft room (Note to self!)

I have layered everything on a card base of Night of Navy which is what I have used to stamp the sentiment. The Wise Men are stamped in Basic Grey and then I have take out my trusty Stampin' Blends and coloured them in. Now they are not the same as in the July-Dec Mini but that is ok you can colour them how ever you like and then I cut them out using the Wise Men Tiding Dies and popped them on the front of my card along with a couple more sequins which I managed to wrangle.

Well if you need help with your sequins wrangling just let me know at any time by hitting the contact button.

Week 15 - Heart of Christmas

We are at week 15 of our Heart of Christmas blog hop and each week until the middle of  December the ladies from the Art With Heart Team will bring you some Christmas inspiration each Monday night.

This week I will be doing something in Blue and Silver tones. The reason is my girlfriend wanted to change her colour theme for Christmas this year when we were talking and she wanted to get away from the normal red and green traditional colours and go with blues and silvers. So I am going to challenge myself to make her a card in those colours!

Well I have made her a card but I have kept is quite simple and all about the words and sentiment that I know my friend will like.

Rhapsody in Craft, Heart of Christmas, Christmas Cards, For Unto Us, Stitched Rectangle Dies, Stitched Star Dies, Hippo & Friends Dies, Merry Melody 3D, Blending Brushes, Simply elegant Trim, Stampin' Up

So for this card I have started with a Night of Navy card base and layered it with silver foil. I then added an embossed layer of Basic White in the Merry Melody 3D embossing Folder with a little bit of Silver Elegant trim wrapped around it.

On another piece of Basic White I took my blending brush and with Misty Moonlight and Night of Navy I blending the 2 colours together to give the colour for the background of my White Heat Embossed Sentiments. I thought the 2 blended together gave a nice colour of the changing of the night sky. I heat embossed the sentiments from For Unto Us stamp set and cut the centre piece from the Hippo & Friends Dies and the little sentiment from the Stitched Rectangle dies where I made one of the dies fit my purpure by making it a little smaller than the die actually was.

I have also die cut some silver foil stars from the Stitched Stars dies and added a little bow of elegant trim to finish off the card. On the inside I have added a layer of Silver foil under the Basic White to continue the theme to the inside of my card.

Week 14 - Heart Of Christmas

Welcome to week 14 of the Heart of Christmas, for this week I thought I would do another fancy fold for you. I know I just can't help myself.

This week I have created a Tri-Corn Fold! Along with this weeks card I am using the Trimmings & Tidings Bundle I have had it sitting there forever but I have been playing with my Angels stamp set and I thought I would get it out and have a play this week.
Rhapsody in Craft, Christmas Trimmings Dies, Tidings of Christmas DSP, Tidings & Trimmings, Tidings & Trimmings Bundle, Tailor Made Tag Dies, Brushed Metallic Card Stock, Fancy Fold, Tri-Corn Fancy Fold, Christmas Card, Christmas, Stampin' Up, #heartofchristmas2021

So for this card the base is is half of your A4 card and you just fold and glue.

It is a good idea once you have made all your folds to cut and adhere your papers before adhering your card finally together in the middle. It is just easier that way. I have used the Brushed Metallic Card stock and the Tidings of Christmas DSP layered on a base of Evening Evergreen for this card.

I kept the decorations quite simple for this card as the fold is so fancy like one of those hats a sailor of the tall ships wear. For my decoration I stamped the sentiment first and then cut out the tag with the Tailor Made Tags  but you could do it the other way round. I knew the angle I kind of wanted it it on but still wanted the word straight. I have stamped the stocking in Basic Gray and cut it out with the Christmas Tidings Dies as well as the star. The Stocking is coloured in with Light and Dark Poppy Parade, Dark Evening Evergreen and Light Soft Sea Foam Stampin' Blends.

I also cut out a couple extra pieced of Basic White to place on the back / inside of the hat for writing.

Of course this card folds nicely flat to fit into our C6 envelopes so it is a fun card to make and send for Christmas.

I have topped off the tag with some Evening Evergreen Sheer ribbon and some white Bakers Twine.

Hope you have enjoyed this fancy fold tonight and if you have any questions about my card today or any of your crafty needs please do not hesitate to contact me.
