Welcome to week 8 of the Heart of Christmas for 2022. Each Monday until the end of November the Art with Heart team are bringing you some Christmas inspiration to help you get ready for all your Christmas card and decoration needs!
Ok so I couldn't stay away from the fancy folds until after my daughters 21st which is in a few weeks, they call to me, so I have done quite a simple one you are sure to love and can make yourself with a some DSP, the Layering Circle dies which we have all had for a long time and if not ask me how to get them and a greeting stamp.
So the first step is to have your normal card base and I chose crumb cake and layer that with your gorgeous Poinsettia DSP from the Boughs of Holly DSP pack
Take out your 2nd largest circle die and it's scalloped circle die mate.
Cut through both the card front and the DSP with this circle die. Keep that circle die handy for later.

Using the scalloped die cut out in Gold Brushed Metallic Cardstock or straight gold if you like and then cut the circle out using your die and adhere that to the edge of your circle.
For the inside of your card I have used Basic White and have made it like a card base going the opposite direction in a "Z" Fold but like half a cm shorter in width and length so it fits inside the card. I then used so more of the gorgeous Boughs of Holly DSP to decorate the "Z" fold.
I have used the Hope & Peace Stamp set for the sentiments in this card and stamped on the inside of the card and on a circle that I have cut out using the layering circle dies that fits into the cut out circle on the front of the card. Then layered that on the Brushed Metallic Gold Card. Make sure that when you adhere the circle greeting that it is only adhered on that furthest right hand part of the "Z" fold. Line it up in your circle cut out on the front of the card when your card is all folded up so you have it in exactly the correct spot.
Now that the fancy fold part of your card is complete it was time to decorate so I thought fussy cut! Of course I did! So I went back to the gorgeous Boughs of Holly DSP and cut out 2 of the poinsettias and adhered them to either side of the front circle and added some wink of Stella!
Oh and a gold pearl!
It was quite fun to make so if you need any help let me know
Ok I will probably go back to non fancy folds from now on just to get through this birthday party! It is bigger than Ben-Hur!

Thank you for spending some Christmas crafty time with me today, take care,
You've used this gorgeous paper beautifully, Sharon. I especially love the addition of two fussy-cut poinsettias on the card front ... but, as always, I'm impressed with the work you put in to creating the fancy fold! Best of luck with the birthday party preparations. x
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous fun-fold card using the beautiful poinsettia pattern paper, Sharon. The gold foil accents add such elegance and I love the fussy cut poinsettia’s that adorn the front of the card. Just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful beautiful card Sharon. I love your fancy fold. I will have to re-read your blog to work out exactly what you have done. Xxx
ReplyDeleteSharon, I'm going to name this fancy fold a "hidden panel Z fold" - it is is fabulous! Such a great fancy fold to showcase a powerful DSP like the beautiful poinsettia pattern paper you have used. We will need to trade discussions on 21sts!
ReplyDeleteHaha lovely to see you back with your fancy fold cards Sharon and what a fabulous way to feature that beautiful paper. The addition of the Wink of Stella and the gold pearl make those fussy cut poinsettias pop.
ReplyDeleteSharon, this is a great fancy fold design (I can't remember the name of it either) but it shows off the papers and sentiments beautifully. The touches of gold really adds some elegance to your already pretty card!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my go-to fancy folds Sharon and I absolutely love your version. The Boughs of Holly DSP was a perfect choice. I admire your perfectly cut out poinsettias and it wouldn't be a Sharon card without a bit of bling.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Sharon.
