Welcome to week 13 of the colour creations blog hop. We are looking at the colour Boho Blue this week and I think you are going to love it.
This week I have another fun fold for you! I know that last week if you have been following along I said that is was an easy fun/fancy fold and some of you disagreed. Well this week, super simple is the name of the game!We have some lovely family friends and we went to the wedding of the eldest daughter early last year, we are so excited that they are expecting. SO while I was waiting for the gender reveal (only immediate family were invited) I made a card with Boho Blue to go with the present I wanted to give before we get to the Baby shower later in the year.I used a number of items as you can see to make this sweet card, along with the Everyday Details bundle!
The card base is Boho Blue card stock cut in half vertically at the 10.5 cm mark then I scored and folded it in half and folded one half back on itself. I then embossed some Crumb Cake card stock with the Adoring Hearts Hybrid Embossing Folder and adhered that to the card base. The card base then forms a "z"The focal point card base is created by a layer of Boho Blue card and a layer of Basic White which I have blended with Boho Blue ink and the blending brush to make a soft blue background for the focal image to sit on.The colours I have used in my image which I have stamped in crumb cake are Coastal Cabana, Cajun Craze, Basic White, Crumb Cake and Boho Blue. I have cut out using the Everyday Detail dies and then backed it with a deckled circle cut out of Boho Blue card so you can see it through the little holes in the die cut circle.
To colour the image which is stamped in crumb cake I used the water colour pencils, blender pen and Wink of Stella. The Wink of Stella really made the eggs sparkle! I used the blender pen on the eggs and then the Wink of Stella but by adding that extra amount of Cajun Craze behind the eggs in the nest it makes them look like they are really nestled in to stay warm!To colour the Iridescent Striped Trim (ribbon) I have used the Dark Boho Blue Stampin' Blends. Along with the basic pearls which have also been coloured the the Boho Blue Stampin' Blends. The image is popped up on dimensionals and the sentiment stamped in Boho Blue and cut it out with the Everyday Details dies is also popped up on one end. The trim is adhered using a mini glue dot!
On the inside of the card I have added a space to write on the card.

Thank you for spending some crafty time with me today, take care,
Two beautiful cards Sharon. I think yours card(s) are perfect for expecting parents.
ReplyDeleteLovely design, Sharon! I love the blue eggs, and your description of them being snuggled in the nest, with the addition of dark Cajun Craze shading. Boho Blue is such a pretty colour for a baby card ... as is Bubble Bath!
ReplyDeleteBoth very sweet cards and agree that it looks lovely in either colour. Your bird nest and eggs are adorable Sharon.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous fancy fold baby card, Sharon , in not one but two colours! They both look stunning and I love your colouring and the use of the Adoring Hearts Hybrid Embossing Folder on card base.
ReplyDeleteSharon, this is so beautiful and a wonderful fancy fold design for an expecting mother. The embossed hearts are a lovely addition too!
ReplyDeleteTwo gorgeous baby cards Sharon. While the Z fold card may be easier than some it is no less spectacular. Your attention to detail with the Adorning Hearts embossed into the background, the backing of the circular label so Boho Blue shows through the little holes and your beautiful colouring all contribute to a wonderful card. Love them xxx
