Heart of Christmas - 2024 - Week 7 - Merry Christmas Pop Up Gift Box

Welcome to the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop week 7 for 2024. Each week on a Monday from August - end of November the Art with Heart team will bring you some Christmas inspiration for you.

This week I thought I would try something a little different,....... a fancy fold! I had you there for a minute didn't I! HeHe! Literally as I was typing this I was choking on my tea! Yes I am doing a fancy fold but I am doing it with a difference this week. It will be in the shape of a gift box. I found this design on Pinterest, it was a short video of about 51 seconds actually by Junzi. I have created a template which I will add as I show you so that you know how I put the box together.

So let's get started.

First you will need to cut 2 of the first template which is the outside of the box.

For the inside of the box you need to cut 1.

Once you have built the 3 sections join them together.
The 2 sections on the Black card stock is where you attach your middle box.
The 2 black sections then closes up as the box.

To make the mechanism work and to attach it to the box you need to cut 2 of each of the 2 pieces left.

Slide the mechanism through the slits made on the box and attach to the top inside of the black box.

Then we are all about the decorations.

When you have the box all closed up I have wrapped it in the beautiful Blackberry Bliss and Gold Ribbon and stamped a Bauble from Hang an Ornament in Lost Lagoon and stamped the sentiment in versamark and heat gold embossed and attached it with a little linen thread after cutting it out with the Hang an Ornament dies.
When you open the box I have stamped some beautiful trees from the Peaceful Evergreens in Lost Lagoon, Pretty Peacock and Coastal Cabana and for the main tree added a die cut of Gold Foil. To attach them to the pop up mechanism I used window sheets.
From the front it give a lot of depth to the trees.
I have used a little layer of Winter Meadows DSP before Gold Embossing a sentiment from the Peaceful Season stamp set and die cut using one of the label dies from the Peaceful Seasons dies. On the back of the box I have cut another label for you to write to the recipient.
Here is a little video of my finished project opening and closing.

We are now in September and our September-December Mini Catalogue is available so if you would like to ask any questions about my project today or would like to get your hands on the new Mini please don't hesitate contact me.
