Stampin' Up - Easter - Art With Heart March 2018 Blog Hop

Tonight, the Art with Heart team are sharing creative Easter creations.
Don’t forget, sale-a-bration has just over a week left to earn free product with purchase or it is also a fabulous time to join Stampin’ Up!
Ask any of the girls on the hop for more details.

Tonight, I am bringing you 2 Easter cards. The first is an Easter Bunny Card and the second is an Easter Cross card. Both are a Fancy fold card that are very easy to do. You know that I love my fancy fold cards.

Well I just loved this stamp set when I first saw it and could not wait to have it, but I actually haven’t inked it up until now. I know, how can that be? I was very fortunate to get it at OnStage. Onstage is a fantastic event that Stampin’ Up holds for demonstrators every 6 months and we have so much fun seeing new products and getting to play with them before anyone else. If you love Stampin’ Up as much as we do think about joining up. Don’t hesitate to ask.

Don’t you just love how real the bunny rabbit looks? My family couldn’t believe I stamped it! Don’t you just love Stampin’ Up stamps they make the best stamps! I have seen this gorgeous Bunny Rabbit used for baby cards in very similar cards using the Sweet Little Something stamp set it is such a versatile set as you can use it for baby cards and Easter cards with the greetings that come along with the gorgeous Bunny.

So how did I make this card. The base of the card. It is a Z fold card and it is really easy.
  • ·       Cut your cardstock so that you have a piece that is 4 ¼ x 11 inches then score at 2 ¾  and 5 ½ . and fold in a valley/mountain, then you have your Z.
  • ·       For the layering I have cut in crumb cake 2 x - 2 ½ x 4, 1 x-  4 x 5 ¼ , 1x- 3 3/8 x 3 3/8. inches
  • ·       The gorgeous DSP is the Sweet Soiree and it is just beautiful I have cut 2 of these in 2 ¼ x 3 ¾ inches
  • ·       Cut 1 Whisper white 3 1/8 x 3 1/8 and 1 – 3 ¾ x 5 inches
  • ·       The Bunny is a 3 step process that I have stamped in crumb cake and soft suede ink then cut it out and popped it up on dimensionals and added an organza ribbon.
  • ·       On the inside of the card I have used the Celebrate You Thinlit Dies and the champagne foil paper I just love this foil paper.
  • ·       With the Stitched shapes framelit dies I have used the smallest oval die to cut out some Easter Eggs with the Sweet Soiree DSP and cut them at different lengths. The great thing about Stampin’ Up DSP is that it is 2 sided so you can flip the piece that you have cut over and you get another egg!
  • ·       I have stamped Happy Easter from the Sweet Little Something stamp set in early espresso

In my second card I have used the Hold on to Hope stamp set and I just love this set and again couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. It also can be bundled with the Cross of Hope framelit dies which are just fantastic!

Using the Hold On To Hope stamp set I have created a shadow box card for you tonight. So absolutely simple to create and very effective.

·       I have used the Wood Textures DSP which I just love and it will be continuing in the new catalogue starting on June 1st (which I can’t wait to see) so that is fantastic because it is just gorgeous DSP.
  • ·       To create the shadow box cut your base card and your top card (in my case the Wood Textures DSP) both the same size. 4 ¼ x 5 ½
  • ·       Score both at ½ inch and 1 inch turn around and do the same at the other end of the 5 ½ inch length.
  • ·       To create the circle use the layering circle dies and place it towards the top of the between the score lines and pass it through the big shot.
  • ·       Now before you stick your shadow box together cut 2 pieces of Whisper White card 3 ¼ x 4 1/16
  • ·       On one piece of whisper white lay it under the circle of your cut-out wood texture DSP and stamp your image of the cross in a colour of your choice, I used Fresh Fig!
  • ·       Using the Cross of Hope framelit dies cut out the gorgeous filigree cross in Champagne Foil paper and adhere it to the stamped image with the fine tip glue pen.
  • ·       Now we can put together our card. Burnish the score lines so that your card will stand up in a valley/ mountain way.
  • ·       Adhere your cross image to the inside of the early espresso card and with your choice or adhesive just on the small outside ½ inch and stick together so that it creates a box and will stand on its own.
  • ·       Now to decorate the front I have stamped the butterfly, flowers and sentiment all in fresh fig on whisper white card stock and using the Cross of Hope Framelits dies cut them out! How easy is that? What a great bundle this is!
  • ·       On the back of the card I have used the other piece of whisper white that we cut out used the little twig stamp in the Hold on to Hope and Happy Easter from Sweet Little Something stamp sets

Hope you have enjoyed these 2 very simple Easter cards to make and that you enjoy your Easter with family and friends
