Heart of Christmas 2024 - Week 1

 

Welcome to week 1 of the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop for 2024. Each week until the end of November on a Monday, members of the Art with Heart team will bring you some Christmas inspiration so you will be ready with all your Christmas cards, packaging needs and decorating inspiration in time for Christmas.

This week I thought I had better start with a fancy fold. If you were playing along at home last Wednesday with out Bubble Bath Colour creations blog hop I let you know that I was trying a card and I had tried a couple of times and couldn't stick the landing. I had watched a couple of different tutorials on this particular fold and still couldn't make the fold work just right. Well I found yet another tutorial and using different measurements I think I have finally scored!

Today my fancy fold is called a double swing fold card! I have made a single swing fold card before and you can find that one here for our Summer Splash colour creation blog hop.

The reason I think I manage to get this one to work finally is because this was made with a piece of card stock 10 x 6 inches rather than the 12 x 6 inches of the 2 other tutorials I had been watching or maybe it was the person giving the tutorial. Laura Stranks from Brisbane!

I have used a card base of Mossy Meadow and layered with Very Vanilla and the gorgeous paper is the Seasons of Green and Gold Specialty DSP. 

When you lay the card out flat you can see all the different section. I have stamped the sentiment in Versamark and gold heat embossed. The stamp set is the Greetings of the Season stamp set and this along with the DSP is part of the Seasons of Green and Gold Suite Collection that is an online exclusive. You may notice that I have embossed the 2 side panels with the Changing Leaves Hybrid Embossing Folder.

If you flip the card over you will see the front 2 side sections which I have also embossed in the Changing leaves folder but I have added die cuts from the Green and Gold Specialty DSP and a vellum leaf from the Graceful Greenery Vellum. I then gold embossed Merry Christmas on Very Vanilla and fussy cut that out. Here also on the back there is a place to write your message.

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 5 - 2024-2025 - Summer Splash

 

Welcome to week 5 of the 2024-25 Colour Creation Blog hop. This week we are looking at the 5th New InColor for 2024-26 and we are celebrating all things Summer Splash! 

Today I created for you a swing fancy fold card! I have not made one of these in such a long time so I thought I would make one for you today.

I used the Thoughtful Expressions Stamp set and Dies for the card as I really love the sentiments and you can use them for friendship cards or sympathy cards. Today I made a friendship card.

The card lays flat so you can decorate. I have a Crumb Cake Card Base and I have layered it with out colour of the day Summer Splash Card and then with the InColor DSP. I consulted my creative design team also known as my Daughter as to which of the designs I should use of the DSP and she decided that today the stripes would win as it would be like a picture frame around the focal point!

The other side of the card I have stamped similar to the front but used a different sentiment. This is why I have called it a friendship card today as I have used enjoy your day instead of  perhaps leaving it blank but it there is still room for you to write to your recipient.

For the focal point of the card I have layered a piece of the Summer Splash card stock on the Crumb Cake base before stamping on the Basic White. I have used the large flower stamp from the set and stamped in crumb cake and then cut a mask and stamped again twice to create the corner before stamping the smaller flower and cutting it out with the dies. The bird is cut out with the dies and both, the flower and the bird are coloured with the Stampin' Blends. The colours I use are Light and Dark Summer Splash, Dark Soft Sea Foam, Light and Dark Pretty In Pink, Light and Dark Calypso Coral.

And when folded the card fits perfectly into our C6 envelopes.
