Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 25 - 2024-2025 - Fresh Freesia - Cutest Onsie Baby

 

Welcome to our half way point of the Colour Creations Blog Hop for 2024-25. Yes we couldn't believe it either that we were at week 25 of 50 for this year! Today we are all about Fresh Freesia!

For my project today I have followed JanB from the UK on her Step Pop Up Card but I have created a Baby Shower Card. I was asked by the very excited first time Grandma and my dear friend to create a card for her daughter for the Baby Shower that we attended back in September.

This is my colour combination for my project, could help adding a little bit of my favourite blackberry bliss into the mix!

So for my project I got out the Cutest Onesie stamp set and dies. As I was making a special card I also made a box to put the special card in.

Let's talk a few details. The card bask is Fresh Freesia and I have layered that with Pool party and Basic which before adding this gorgeous Thoughtful Journey DSP which has the Fresh Freesia running through the middle of it! This is the center of the card I have laid flat and added my first box.

From that first box I have added another 4 but this time the top layer is a piece of the Thoughtful Journey DSP with Blackberry Bliss.

To decorate the inside of the card I have used both Fresh Freesia and Pool Party Card take out the Mini Alphabet dies to cut out the word Baby.

The Hearts are from the Adoring Hearts Hybrid Embossing and Die bundle where you emboss and cut the hearts out at the same time! Love it!

For the front of the card I have again layered with the Fresh Freesia Card Bad with Pool Party and Basic White with a layer of Thoughtful Journey DSP. I then used the Wildflower Designs Dies to cut out the frames, one in Pool Party, then Basic White, layered the scalloped frame which is cut out in Blackberry Bliss piece of Thoughtful Journey and then one more Piece of Basic White. I then coloured a piece of Basic White Bakers Twine with Fresh Freesia Stampin' Blends to give it a little colour for our clothes line and with the Cutest Onesies dies cut out a silver coat hanger. For the Onsie I stamped in Fresh Freesia onto the Thoughtful Journey DSP and cut it out with dies, the little pocket was done in Pool Party. Of course you needed bling and there are a couple of Basic Rhinestones.

On the back of the card I used on of the hearts that I still had over and I also cut out the 1,2,3 and the Baby rattles from the Cutest Onesies dies to add to where you would write on this card. Did you see this gorgeous Pool Party Pom Pom ribbon that I attached under the focal point at the front and around the back to hold the card together.

As I mentioned earlier I made a box for the card and I have followed the decoration from the card to the front of the box!

The sentiment for the card and the front of the box is from the Cutest Onesie stamp set and I have used the Something Fancy dies to cut them out.

Week 1 - Colour Creations Blog Hop - "The 5 -2021-2023 In Colors"

Welcome to the New Colour Creations Blog Hop for 2021-22. How exciting that we are continuing with the sharing of the gorgeous colours of Stampin' Up! each week with you.

We are going to be doing it as a blog hop where you click on the next button at the end of each post and it will take you to the next person on the list who is participating in the Colour Creation challenge that day but if the link is broken just come back and click on their name in the list provided and you will be able to get to their blog that way as well.

I am so excited to be continuing so let's get into Week 1!

For week 1 we are going to look at all 5 of the new In Colors!

Polished Pink, Pale Papaya, Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent and Fresh Freesia! All gorgeous colours and I am going to have fun playing with these over the next 2 years.

So it is my it is my Dad's 80th Birthday today and I wanted to make him a card. At the moment he is not able to move around very well as he is on crutches for a leg injury so I thought the stamp set A Cut Above would be perfect for him. Take a load off, put your feet up and have a bit of a relax Dad! The challenge was how to incorporate all 5 In Colors into 1 card. 

Well bring on the Stampin' blends and some of the gorgeous Loose Flower Flourishes that are in 3 of the In Colors and there you have it. All 5 In Colors in 1 card!

So for this card I have used the Soft Succulent card base and cut an extra layer of Soft Succulent which I have stamped the cloud from the "A Cut Above" stamp set in Soft Succulent. I have also stamped the Happy Birthday onto Soft Succulent in Evening Evergreen and cut it out with the Stitched Rectangle dies.

Now for the main event our fun loving relaxed Dad/Grandad in my case!

Ok so as we were on the In Color challenge I went for it and the trees are also an In Color. The trunk is Cinnamon Cider in both light and dark blends. The leaves I have used both Soft Succulent and Evening evergreen as well as I have used them for the grass. Now you can see the Loose Flower Flourishes in Pale Papaya, Fresh Freesia and Polished Pink. I was away on the weekend (before our lock down) when I made this card and I permanently borrowed the flowers from a friend who had them as I had not purchased them yet but I am going to as they are just so gorgeous!

Now the shirt is Pale Papaya as well and his pillow is Soft Succulent and to round off all things In Color the sun is Bumblebee. He was fun to colour.

I don't know about you but I could do with a bit of sun and relaxing right now but I am sure my Dad will love his card and he does love a peachy looking shirt so I think he will like Pale Papaya.

Now as I had already met the challenge of putting all 5 new In Colors on one card I played around with them a bit more and made 3 other cards but Soft Succulent missed out this time.

I really loved this new Quiet Meadow Bundle when I saw it and I thought it was perfect for this simple card to show off these gorgeous new In Colours.

So for these set of cards I have them on a card base of Thick Basic White and then a mat layer of Regular Basic White which I have stamped the speckle stamp from the Quiet Meadow stamp set in Evening Evergreen in the background.

For each of the cards I have used the Meadow dies from the Quiet Meadows Bundle to cut out some of the flower and greenery sprigs in gold foil and vellum card stock.

To bring in the pop of colour each flower has been coloured with the Stampin' Blends in the new In Colors in Polished Pink, Pale Papaya and Fresh Freesia and the centre of the flower in Soft Suede light and dark. Under each flower which I fussy cut and popped up on dimensionals, the new In Color open weave ribbon has been adhered. The sentiment is also from the Quiet Meadow stamp set and I have stamped that in Evening Evergreen and used the Meadow dies to cut it out.
 

These were so much fun to make and I can see that I will be making lots of cards using the Quiet Meadow Bundle.

Week 47 - Colour Creations Showcase - "Smoky Slate"

 

Today is a very exciting day! Why? Well I am glad you asked! Today is not only Colour Creations Showcase day but it we have a NEW ANNUAL CATALOGUE! So that means we have so much new fun products that are available to share and to purchase and play with. You are going to love them all.

Well today we are looking at one of our Neutral Colours Smoky Slate and you can pair this with just about anything you want so let's get to it!

I have used the Tasteful Touches stamp set and the gorgeous In Good Taste DSP which we are so lucky it is carry over into this new Annual Catalogue. I just love this paper and stamp set so I was very happy that they did not retire. The In Good Taste DSP has Smoky Slate as one of its colours so I went straight for it for our colour challenge today.

Now you may wonder what the little pop of colour I have added to go with our Smoky Slate. Well, I am glad you asked! (Those of you who are old enough will know that is a reference to the Curiosity Show😂) It is 2 of the new 2021-23 In Colors. Fresh Freesia and Soft Succulent. 

I have added Fresh Freesia card to the base on top of the Smoky Slate and under the Tile DSP from In Good Taste and with the beautiful In Color Open Weave ribbons I have a little splash of that as well as the In Color Basic Jewels. The Rose from the Tasteful Touches stamp set I have firstly stamped in Smoky Slate and then added just a hint of the Fresh Freesia with both the Light and Dark Stampin' Blends

 

Now you can see under the rose that I have popped up on dimensionals I have stamped directly onto the In Good Taste DSP, I have stamped off onto scrap paper first the rose in Smoky Slate and then onto the DSP and I have also done the same with the leave from the stamp set in Soft Succulent. Then using the Forever Flourishing Dies I have cut out in Vellum and in the New In Color Shimmer Vellum in the Soft Succulent colour some leaves to go under the rose and sentiment.

The sentiment is stamped on Smoky Slate card in Smoky slate ink and I have used the Tasteful Labels Dies with my Cut & Emboss machine to cut out the label.

I think it is quite an elegant card and I only just had time to photograph it before my friend took it off my hands to give it to her Mum for Mother's day. So it can be used for a friendship card, A Mother's Day Card or a card to give to your daughter. I hope you will give this design a try as the DSP is just lovely and you can add any number of your favourite colours and that new shimmer vellum is so stunning! You will want it high on you wish list of new products!
