Welcome to week 18 of our Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week we are looking at Garden Green.
Today I thought I had better bring you a fancy old as I did not bring you one last week. Well this week I search far and wide for one I had not done yet and I found one that is called Vertical Stretch Fun Fold by a Stampin' Up Demonstrator in the US, Rachel Tessman. She did this fun fold back in 2018. I thought I would have a go at a version of it myself.
So for today's card I thought I would use the Inspired Thoughts Bundle as I wanted to make a card for my friends who lost their Mum this week. Bruce and Julie are dear friends and although I think we make many cards for women I don't think we make many for men. I wanted to do a card that was a little bit different but also with lots of greenery and trees as Bruce who lost his Mum, loves to garden and walk in the bush so I thought this might be ok.
To make this card you cut your card stock in half at 10.5 x 28 cm and then score at 7, 11 18.5 and 21.5 cm. As you can see in this photo the Bloom where you're planted DSP that I have used as it has lovely Garden Green in it, comes out past the end of the folds. This is so you can hide all the messages you would like to have in your card and they can reveal them as they gradually open the card. Very fun as a birthday Card I could see!
This is the very top layer but you build from the bottom up to the top to make sure everything is lined up and you close the top layers down on to the bottom layers to make sure that you are covering up all the lovely surprises in your card with the top DSP before adhering. I have cut out the Tree from the Inspiring Canopy in Cinnamon Cider and then Embossed it with the Bark 3D folder. The leaves have been cut out using the Inspiring canopy dies in Garden Green, Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent.
I have now stretched the card out to 2 layers. As the trees 4 in the die I cut the 4th one off and shortened it to go on the middle layer of the card so that you can't see it when it is shut. The sentiment on both these layers is from the Inspired thoughts stamp set and I have used my Basic Gray Stampin' Write Marker and stamped the first line. I then cut it out and mounted it on Garden Green card and placed on dimensionals on the top layer. I then cleaned my stamp and coloured the rest of the same stamp with the marker to split the sentiment in 2 for the 2 layers of the card.
Now with all 3 layers open I have stamped the sympathy sentiment and a place where you can write as well.
I was trying to find a way to show it to you so I hug it on my card tree with the Evening Evergreen In Color sheer ribbon that I used so that you know that you need to pull the card open. When the card is fully shut it fits into a regular envelope.
This is a fun design that can be adapted for any occasion.
