Welcome to week 13 of the Colour Creations Blog Hop, this week we are going to be using Cherry Cobbler as our colour in the spotlight! I have for you a couple of projects. I have a couple of very quick scrapbook pages and a card today.
I recently did some decorating for a wedding and helped with some of the activities for the guest. One of the activities that was requested was that everyone take a polaroid of themselves and add it to a scrapbook and write a message to the bride and groom. The book was supplied and I have been given a couple of photos from the photographer to scrap to add to it. So I have taken a couple of those for today that don't have the happy couple in them as I don't have their permission to put their faces on my blog and I have a card to go with the colour scheme as well.
For the card today I have used a Gray Granite card base and I have used our gorgeous Cottage Rose stamp set and stamped the leaves in Gray Granite on the base. I have used the 2 largest stitched rectangle dies for the layers one in Cherry Cobbler and then the focal point layer in Basic White.
On the Basic White layer I have stamped the large Cottage Rose stamp in Gray Granite but I think I would stamp it a bit darker next time as the Cherry Cobbler Blends are quite dark against the gray granite ink. After I coloured the rose with Light and Dark Cherry cobbler and Light Sweet Sorbet, Dark So Saffron and Light and Dark old Olive I put the panel through the Cut & Emboss Machine with the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder.
For the sentiment overlaying stamped in memento black ink, I used the Blessings of home stamp set and then I punched it out with the Lasting Label Punch. I have popped it up on some dimensionals with some white crickle seam binding underneath and I have added some bling with the basic pearls that I have coloured with the dark cherry cobbler stampin' blend.
For the first scrapbook page I have a photo of the welcome sign for the guests to the wedding. As you can see the photo album is black I have backed the photo in a layer of retired DSP to correspond with welcome sign and then with a layer of Basic Grey then the photo is layered on top of the gorgeous Silver and Gold DSP from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure. I have then stamped the flowers from the Cottage rose and the leaf and coloured them again with the stampin' blends like I did for the card and added a little silver metallic edge cotton ribbon.
I couldn't go past scrapping the bouquet so I stamped and cut out some more of the gorgeous Cottage Rose and coloured them again with the Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends, I have used all the dies on this page from the Cottage Flower dies. I used them to cut out all the coloured flowers and I have cut out the other flower dies in cherry cobbler card and the leaves in old olive to add some more dimension.
Here is a closer look at the layering of flowers and a little bit of the silver metallic edge ribbon. I have again layered with the gold and silver DSP from the Sale-A-Bration brochure and the photo of the bouquet has a layer of gray granite, cherry cobbler and black before adding it to the page.

Cottage Roses are the perfect choice for this wedding's theme, Sharon. I love the card you made (isn't that sentiment wonderful?!). The Stitched Rectangles and Timeworn Type embossing of the main panel look great. The roses trailing out from the bouquet photo also look wonderful. Beautiful work.
Stunning projects Sharon, the texture on the card after you’ve coloured is quite effective and the scrapbooking is amazing. Lovely use of the Cottage Rose stamp set, your colouring of all the roses in beautiful
Amazing projects Sharon. I am sure the bride and groom will be delighted with their scrapbook pages. I love the flowers cascading from the bridal posy. Your card is simply gorgeous. Love your colouring, the embossing - all so beautiful. Xxx
Beautiful projects Sharon - how nice that the wedding had coordinating colours for our card stock :)
I love your cascades of flowers on the scrap book pages - how lovely are those fine detailed outline dies, layered with the rest! Beautiful!
What a lovely idea, and beautiful card. It will make a really memorable keepsake.
Wow, these are all so amazing! I agree that you've used the perfect sentiment on your card, and your two layouts are fabulous. Cherry Cobbler really pops against the black.
