Welcome to Week 2 of The Heart of Christmas. This week I am making some tags for my group from church. We meet once a month to go out on a Thursday night and this week we are having our Christmas in July dinner so this is going to be perfect little gift for them all, I like to give them a gift when we have Christmas in July.
So for my tag today I thought I would take a leaf out of Amie's play book from last week and use the Celebrations Tag Dies. I have paired it with the Peace to you stamp set as I thought that would be perfect for my church ladies and a little colouring with stamping blends and your tag is ready to go.
I stamped the Joseph, Mary and Jesus in Night of Navy on Basic White and as I need multiples I used my stamparatus to do this and in case there were any areas that didn't quite get a good covering of ink I could go back over to make sure it was well covered. I then coloured them with the Stampin' Blends in the New InColor Sweet Sorbet light and dark, Crumb Cake, Light and Dark, SU500 and Dark Pool Party.
The card base for the tag is Balmy Blue and I have stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso and cut it out with the Stylish Shapes dies. I coloured the textural elements with Sweet Sorbet stampin blends before adhering with mini glue dots.
You can either adhere the sides of your tag shut and use an extra long piece of ribbon that you can then use as a slider and pull out a little message or a gift card. I tried my credit card in there and it fits perfectly so a gift card will work well. I have put in some Christmas Bible verses and attached them to some of the gorgeous Silver and Gold Sale-A-Bration DSP. OR....You could not adhere the sides and just undo the ribbon at the top. I have used the sheer Pool Party ribbon and some Basic White bakers Twine on both examples. Which way do you prefer? I have a favourite! Oh don't forget to put some bling in the star. I put the gold pearl from the festive pearls!
Well I am sure the ladies that come out to dinner on Thursday night will love these and Stampin' Up make the so easy to make. Now I had better get on to making the rest of them. Only a small group this week with all the flu, colds and covid still going around there only be 12 of us so I don't need to make 30 this week.
Now is the time to continue your Heart of Christmas Journey and this week you will be heading to the talented Rosa Leyden, she comes up with great layouts each week and I loved her use of the gorgeous DSP last week with the candy canes can't wait to see what she has for us this week. Just hit the the next blog button to go straight there.
If at anytime you have trouble with a link just head back here and I am privileged to host each week and you can continue your Heart of Christmas blog hop from the list below.

What a beautiful gift for your friends, Sharon. I prefer the tags adhered, to allow a gift card or the like to be included, securely. Lovely creations. x
Lovely tags Sharon, the images from that stamp set fit perfectly.
I love how you've coloured this image - it really makes it come alive. What a treat for your church ladies.
I love how you have coloured this stamp set, it has made look at this set with a new set of eyes! I’m an adhere the tag girl, as I like to slip in a gift card.
Oh Sharon - what a gorgeous Christmas tag for your Christmas in July gifts. The stamped nativity fits perfectly onto the tags - I think the tags will HAVE to be on my next order. Love your colouring of the images. So beautiful. Xxx
Great use of this stamp set for your fabulous gift card holders. Sharon your coloured holy family is so lovely too.
Sharon, this is the first card I've seen with this stamp set where the image is coloured in and it looks fantastic! Both versions are lovely – I can't chose a favourite!
Oh wow, these are jaw-dropping amazing, Sharon. They are so professional looking with your beautiful colouring. I have not seen anything that comes close to your perfection of these tags, fabulous!
Sharon I'm sure that your church ladies will be very grateful for their gift. Thankfully you only had to make 12 though!
