Heart of Christmas - 2022 - Week 14

Welcome to week 14 of the Heart of Christmas blog hop. Each week until the end of November and shh that is only this week and 8 more we will be bringing you Christmas inspiration for your decorating and cardmaking for this year!

So this week I thought I had better ink up those gorgeous Gnomes! I know late to the party but hey better late than never, right!

I thought I would do a simple "Z" Fold card with a focal point panel, square, rectangle on the front! Now you can say, don't you know what you have made. Well at the time of writing this part of my blog I actually haven't made the card so it could even be a circle! Let's see what the card will be by the time we get to the end of the blog!

Let the card fun begin!

So this is the what I came up with as you see I used the deckled rectangle for the focal point of my card!  I hadn't used them yet so I thought it was the perfect time to get them out. I actually ran out of time to do much today so I had to find some quick ideas for you.

So what are the quick things you can do to make these cards. Cut a card base of Early Espresso and fold in half and then fold the front back on itself to make the "z" fold. Then it is a matter of choosing your DSP that you like. I have taken all the colours for my cards tonight from the Storybook Gnomes DSP. It is a layer that you would normally put on as the first layer and cut in half and split between the front and the inside. Do that for some Basic White as well and you have a place to write on.

For 2 of my cards I have taken the Gnome dies and cut out the mushroom and gnomes from the DSP and the grass from some card stock. Fantastic that was quick I have stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy and fussy cut that as I liked it a bit separated on my card front. On the piece of Basic White I have used my blending brush and put a little bit of Balmy Blue to have a shadow around the mushrooms. Pop them all on the deckled card and you have your card finished.

Now if you have a little more time you can stamp your mushroom and gnome and colour them in with your stampin' blends and cut them out with the Gnome Dies.

I used similar colours to the DSP that I cut out with the dies to colour the mushroom and gnome that I had stamped in basic grey! Pretty close to the original but you don't have to do that you can make it in any colours you like!

Quick easy fancy fold cards with all the help from Stampin' Up!

The images on the DSP look great, die-cut, but I also like your comparison with stamped and die-cut images, Sharon. I love the toadstool paper; such a fun background.

Love your quick easy fancy fold cards, Sharon, especially the hand stamped versions. This fancy fold gives you so much bang for your buck in comparison to the effort and your cards look fabulous.

Ha ha, that's funny that you think you are late to the party with the gnomes. I LOVE gnomes, and I haven't even ordered them yet LOL!!
And guess what! I started my post last week - title, first paragraph, meta-tags, and I created my project today . . . . pressure?? Much!!
LOL Nothing like telling myself a week in advance - "this is what you are creating" . . . . ha ha ha!!!
Well done you!!

There’s a few of us that used the Storybook Gnomes DSP on our projects tonight, and I love how you have used it Sharon. Great cards and I do love the Z Fold design and your gorgeous gnomes.

Oh my goodness, you had me re-reading that sentence multiple times to work out what shape you were using LOL. That design is great to show off the lovely Storybook Gnomes papers and I love how you cut up the sentiments. Great cards, Sharon x
