Heart of Christmas - 2022 - Week 10 - Leaves of Holly

Welcome to week 10 of the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop. Each week on a Monday until the end of November the Art with Heart team will be bringing you some Christmas inspiration, so make sure you come back each week to check in and get ready for Christmas.

This week I have a quick card for you. I have a stamped sentiment and a die cut and a double pleated folded piece of DSP for the sentiment to sit on and your card is done!

The base of the card is Cherry Cobbler and layered with Old Olive and then Basic White and on the inside I have layered the card with Old olive and Basic white as well. There is a little bit of Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler in the DSP so I wanted to bring out those colours!

For the sentiment of the card I have stamped on Basic White, the Christmas Wishes in Cherry Cobbler and the to Friends Near and Far in Old Olive, then using the Holly Berry Dies I cut out the Holly Label!

The Stampin' Up! DSP is so gorgeous on both sides so using the double pleated fold you get to see both sides of the DSP. Now I took the measurements from Dawn from Dawn Stampin' Thoughts so I didn't have to think too hard and they are all in inches but here they are for you if you would like them.

DSP 5 1/2 "x 10"
Score along the long side at 1", 1.5",2.5",3",4",4.5"5.5"6",7",7.5",8.5",9"
On the long side still make a pencil mark at 4.5" and 5.5" top and bottom then turn and on the short edge 2 3/16" and 3 3/16" top and bottom. Then we are going to cut the corners off diagonally by joining the dots. Then you get to fold along the lines and chose which side of the DSP you want on the outside facing you.

Now of course you can chose a different shape for your sentiment but I went with this one. Next time I might try a circle or a square, what do your think.

Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or would like to see these products in your hands and have some fun playing with them yourself.

Now is the time to head to the next person on our Christmas journey for this week and we are heading to the Queen of embossing folders and the most gorgeous white spaces Caroline Manwaring. Just hit the next blog button and you will go straight there.

Now if at any time during your Christmas blog hop there is a broken link just head back here and you can continue your journey by finding the list of names below so that you can jump right back in.

Thank you for spending some Christmas crafty time with me today, take care,

Sharon you have created such an elegant card using this pleated fold. It looks beautiful and I love how the Holly leaves breaks up the symmetry of the folds.

A gorgeous card Sharon, and it certainly doesn’t look simple. Love your layering that coordinates with colours in the DSP. The pleating is lovely showing both sides of the DSP. Xxx

Gosh, that pleating makes the DSP a dramatic and beautiful feature of your card, Sharon! Love the shape of the sentiment label, but I agree, you could change the look by trying different shaped die cuts. Lovely work!

Pretty card Sharon! I especially love the little peaks of Red that pop out from the reverse of the DSP. Great idea for impact from DSP.

A great double pleat fold card, Sharon. Making the most of both designs of the papers, is a great way for when we can't choose a favourite side.

Wow, that double pleated DSP gives your card a real wow factor. It looks fantastic. I think that a circle would look nice over the top, too.
