Can you believe that we are one week before Christmas? I can't but I love Christmas as it is always a fun time of year for me with not only my Wedding anniversary but both mine and my husband's birthdays all in the week after Christmas so we just party from Christmas eve to New Years Day! Ok the older we get the less partying we do but I still love this time of year!
Speaking of parties my daughter has been invited to a party of a new friend this Saturday and it is a 21st so I thought perfect Melon Mambo here we come! Melon Mambo is such a party name don't you think?!
Ok so I have done an elegant Melon Mambo card as I don't know this young lady but I think it hits the brief from my daughter! I have used the spotlight on nature bundle and who doesn't like this bundle! Plus I have used the Happy Birthday from the Magnolia Mood stamp set.
For the card base I have used Thick Basic White and you may be able to tell that the card front I have trimmed down to just edge the focal point part of the card and to leave the center of the card exposed on the edges.
So this is what those exposed edges look like when you open up the card. I have layered a piece of Melon Mambo card then a piece of Basic White which I have stamped the leaf stamp from the Spotlight on Nature stamp set in Mossy Meadow and then the Happy Birthday from the Magnolia Mood also in Mossy Meadow. As you can see there is approximately 2 cm each side of the front of the card that has been trimmed down.
For the focal point of the card I have a layer of Melon Mambo card then a piece of Basic White which has been dry embossed with the Eyelet 3D embossing folder. Layered on there are 3 circles which are cut out with the Spotlight on Nature Dies...one int Melon Mambo, one in the Mossy Meadow colour of the Seasons of Elegance Specialty DSP and one layer of Basic White. The flower has been stamped in Basic Gray then coloured using the Stampin' Blends... Dark and Light Melon Mambo and Dark and Light Mossy Meadow. The butterfly is coloured in with the Stampin' Blends also...Light and Dark Melon Mambo and Light and Dark Calypso Coral. I have fussy cut these out and popped them up on dimensionals.
Of course we needed a little bling to finish off and it is a 21st birthday so I used the Alphabet Al A Mode Dies to cut out the 21 in the Gold Mercury Vellum Specialty DSP. The Iridescent Basic Pearl Jewels have been coloured with the Dark Melon Mambo Stampin' Blends and a little bit of Gold Twisted Thread to finish off!

Hello my Crafty Friends, today I am bringing you a card fun fold that I made a few years ago but for some reason I must not have blogged it so I found my prototype and then found the original video from Dawn Stampin' Thoughts and now we have today's card for Garden Green week of our 2024-25 Colour Creations Blog Hop!
I saw this great version by @2bgcrafting using the Sweet Peas Stamp set so I just had to recreate this card and make a version of it myself, it is so fun!
For this card I have used Thick Basic White card for every part of the card except the frames which I used normal Basic White.
For the front of the card I have the Peek-a-Boo window which I have cut out with the Nested Essential Dies. I first cut all the different sections to create the fun fold and I will put a template at the end of the post. I then cut out the the frame using the same dies.
Before adding the frame to the front of the card I stamped the leaves and the sentiment. I coloured the leaves with the Light Soft Sea Foam Stampin' Blends, a little bit of Garden Green Watercolor Pencil was added to the leaves and with the Blender Pen it was was smoothed out over the leaf. The Garden Green Watercolor Pencil was also added over the PEA of the sentiment and using the Blender Pen smoothed over as well.
The "Grumpy" Pea is on the very back page of the fancy fold so to get it in the correct location you have to hold the the top layer with the cut out window over the top and stamp through the window. I have coloured this Pea with light Soft Sea Foam Stampin' Blend and then added the Garden Green Watercolor Pencil over the top to accentuate his grumpiness.
As you slowly open the card you can see that something is starting to cover our "Grumpy" Pea
When the card is fully open our Grumpy pea has been replaced in the window by a "Happy Birthday Pea" I have coloured the peas with the Soft Sea foam Light and Dark Stampin' Blends and the pea shell and added detail to the leaves and single birthday pea with the Garden Green Watercolor Pencil. The birthday Hat is Light and Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blend.

Here is the template for the card.
The middle card is adhered to the back of the front and aligning the edge and the cut out windows. The small folded section of the card front is free flowing so that they can slide behind each other to create the peek-a-boo. The Card Back is then adhered to the edge of the middle card on the same side that you have adhered the card front. This stabilizes the middle section of the card and holds it all together. I hope you can see that through watching how the card opens and folds in the video.

Welcome to Week 12 of the 2024-25 Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week our colour in the spotlight is Blueberry Bushel.
This week I have created a Double Stack Display card. I had a little bit going on this week so I needed something a bit quick on the fancy fold department to do.
I have chosen a monochromatic palette and the gorgeous Magnolia Mood Bundle which is an online exclusive! I had not played with my Magnolia Mood bundle I thought it was about time I got it out and had a play.
For the Double Stack Display Fold I have a card base is Thick Basic White which comprises of 1 panel that is 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches and a second that is 4 1/4 x 11 inches and scored at 2, 3 3/4, 7 1/4, 9 inches along the 11 inch side.
To create the base of the card you fold the double "z" on the larger of the 2 cards and adhere it to the smaller card that you have cut. This creates the foundation fold to add your display cards and decorations.
On both sides of the base card of Thick Basic White I have embossed a piece of Meandering Meadows DSP which has gorgeous Blueberry Bushel as one of it's colours with the Crosshatch Embossing folder from the Basic 3D embossing Folder pack.
For the smaller display panel on the right I have cut a 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 Blueberry Bushel base and layered that with Basic White which I have then stamped with the Happy Birthday stamp from the Magnolia Mood stamp set. I have then used the Magnolia Mood Dies to gut the smaller flower and some leaves out in Basic White and then again in Blueberry Bushel which I popped up on small dimensionals about the white.
For the front focal point panel I have a base of Blueberry Bushel and on the Basic White layer I have used the Crosshatch 3D embossing folder. The large die I have cut out both in Basic White and Blueberry Bushel and I have cut some of the leaves off the Blueberry Bushel. I have also cut a few extra leaves in Basic White and the smaller flower in both white and Blueberry Bushel. The top flower has been popped up on dimensionals.
I couldn't resist stamping the large gorgeous magnolia flower on the inside of the card slightly over the fold which gives plenty of room to write your message. How beautiful does this flower look in Blueberry Bushel?!
I know you are wondering if it all fits into an envelope and it does when folded up. I have adhered some of the remaining piece of Meandering Meadows DSP to the flap of the envelope and stamped the smaller magnolia to the bottom left of the front.
Of course I have made a birthday card today but this design could be used with any colour and for any occasion. I do hope you will give it a try!

Today for week 11 of the 2024-25 Colour Creations Blog Hop we are looking at my favourite colour. I know that it is not to some people's liking but this rich purple is one of my favourites!
So for my favourite colour I was fortunate to be asked to make a very special birthday card by my friend for her sister, she is also my friend so no pressure there on making a fancy fold card. At least the request was to use the DSP Perennial Lavender and that has Blackberry Bliss in it. I had free rein to make a fancy fold card!
I have made a 3D Pillar card and a box for it as well. I got the directions for the card from Barry at Mitosu Crafts but the box is a matter of measuring once the card is made.
Here is how I made the card.
The base of the card is our colour of the week Blackberry Bliss and I have 5 pillars or boxes. When adhering each individual box together lay them flat so that when you get to adhere them all together you are able to lay them flat in the box.
I have layered each box with Lost Lagoon card.
On top of the Lost Lagoon I have added the Gorgeous Perennial Lavender DSP. I have cut it so that it follows along in the pattern before I cut the length for the smaller 2 pillars.
Join each of the pillars to the next pillar one at a time laying them flat while you it adheres and to make sure they are straight. This will also make sure that you will be able to lay it flat in the box for packaging.
Once all joined together we can work on the focal point.
A layer of Blackberry Bliss and Lost Lagoon before adding the rest of the focal point.
Using the gorgeous large leaf die from the Thoughtful wishes dies I cut a piece of Basic White just a bit larger.
Using the blending brushes on the piece of Basic White I have blending Blackberry Bliss on the top and Lost Lagoon on the bottom. As I will be cutting it out with the leaf die it doesn't matter that it is not perfectly smooth and blended.
For the rest of the focal point I have embossed a layer of Basic White with the Eyelet 3D and adhered that before adding some of the decorations. The leaf we have just created plus a stamped leaf which is coloured in light and dark Lost Lagoon Stampin' Blends. I have cut out a label in Basic White using the Something Fancy Dies and then stamped the happy birthday from the Country Birdhouse stamp set and cut that out using the Stylish shapes dies. The 2 extra leaves I cut out using the extra blended paper.
Oh don't forget to add some white bakers twine!
Now you could leave it here as a birthday card but my friend wanted a 60 so I added a 60 for her sister!
Yes there is somewhere to write I made sure there was plenty of space on the back of the pillars.
To make the box packaging I laid the card flat and measured the length and width, then measured the height. After getting the measurements I added the height to the measurements of length and width to make sure I had enough card to go up the sides and ends. To create the lid you add on 1/8 of an inch to give just a little bit of space for the lid to go over the bottom of the box.
I have used the other half of the piece of Perennial Lavender DSP to cover the top of the box and I have created a second focal point to go on the lid. To tie the lid shut I have used the white ribbon from the Petal Pink and White Diagonal Trim Pack. I left it quite long so that my friend could tie the bow how she liked.
This was a fun project and the Perennial Lavender DSP does most of the work!
