Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 33 - 2024-2025 - Lost Lagoon - Otterly Amazing

 

Today we are looking at the gorgeous Lost Lagoon for Colour Creations Blog Hop week 33.

If you have been following along with our Heart of Christmas blog hops it was probably the only colour that I used for all of my cards! Ok maybe a couple of weeks I did something different. So this week I got out the Otterly Amazing - Otterly Adorable Suite! It is an online exclusive and as my daughter simply loves Otters and when were were in Japan in 2019 we had to go to an Otter Cafe I had to get this suite! So I had to make a card for Lost Lagoon week from this suite.

This suite comes with the Otterly Amazing stamp set and dies and they are just the sweetest little otters you have ever seen! I have made for you a double gate fold card and I cased the design from Kayla Renee and changed up a few elements.

As I have been pairing Pretty Peacock and Lost Lagoon all Heart of Christmas Blog hops I had to put them together again for this card. I have put the base of the card in Pretty Peacock and layered it with Lost Lagoon Card. The top part is the double gate fold and I have added a single card base layer to give stability on the back. All of the folds and that back have the beautiful Otterly Adorable DSP layered which is all about Lost Lagoon. Now can you see those die cut fish I cut them out of the Perennial Lavender DSP.

When you open the card you have a place to write your greeting and I have decorated it with blending some Lost Lagoon and a little Pretty Peacock in the corner and then die cut some sea grass in Lemon Lime Twist and Pretty Peacock and adding a little bit of blending over the top of the same colours. Some more fish a bit of speckles from my Lost Lagoon Stampin Write Marker and then I coloured the Otter with the Stampin Blends. Light and Dark Crumb Cake, Light and Dark Copper Clay and #300 Natural which is the Medium colour set.

For the focal point I have cut out a circle with the Stylish Shapes Dies in Basic White and blended ink over the top half with Lost Lagoon and the bottom half with Pretty Peacock. die cut out some rocks with Pebble Path and blended with a little pebble path ink. Added a few more sea grasses under the Otters and a baby otter and Coloured them the same way as I did the one on the inside and use the colour lifter to add a little highlight. The grasses attached to the 2 main otters where colored with Lemon Lime Twist and Pretty Peacock Stampin Blends. The Log that the otters are sitting on is die cut out in Copper Clay and then using the blending brush a little copper clay ink was added. The sentiment was heat embossed with the Wow White embossing Powder and the you can see the gorgeous Lost Lagoon Soft Cord!

Did you catch the Riverside irregular pearls they are just perfect for otters!

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 27 - 2024-2025 - Gorgeous Grape

 

Welcome to Gorgeous Grape week of Colour Creations Blog Hop of 2024-25

Purples and Burgundies seem to be a favourite colour in my house. Gorgeous Grape is probably my son's favourite. Saying that however I didn't make a male card, HEHE! I finally got out the Layers of Beauty Bundle. You are probably saying FINALLY! I am saying yes I am late to the party! I have had this gorgeous bundle sitting there waiting for me to play with it so I did today!

As you can see I didn't create a fancy fold for you but I did follow a similar layout to a card that I had created a couple of years ago for Christmas. Well actually back in 2019 I think I lost a couple of years there as we all have. If you want to check out that card you can find it here: 

So how did I create this card? Well I am glad you asked! Let's look at the card base to start with.

For the first part of the card I took Thick Basic White for the base and then embossed a piece of Basic White with the Birch Wood Embossing folder.

Layering on the base of the card there is a strip of Perennial Lavender DSP and Country Woods DSP.

Layered on top of this I have a piece of Gorgeous Grape and a piece of Perennial Lavender DSP which is full of Gorgeous Grape!

Over the top of the background that I had created I used the Spotlight on Nature dies to cut out some circles 2 in the Perennial Lavender DSP and one in Basic White.

Now comes the Layers of Beauty and the colours from the Perennial Lavender DSP was my guide. 

For the flower I took the Layers of Beauty Decorative Masks and a Blending Brush and started with the Gorgeous Grape

I then went through the 5 layers continuing on with Highland Heather, Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock.

Once I had finished all the layers I then took out the Layers of Beauty stamp and with Memento Black ink stamped over the the top.

From here I used the Layer of Beauty Dies to cut out the who image and then the smaller die to cut out the one rose before doing a little bit of fussy cutting to cut the rest of the image up to put it on the card.

To finish off the card I have stamped the sentiment in Gorgeous Grape and fussy cut it up and popped it up on dimensionals and of course you have to have bling so I have coloured some Rhinestone Basic Jewels with the Dark Highland Heather Stampin' Blend as there we don't have a Gorgeous Grape Blend.

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 11 - 2024-2025 - Blackberry Bliss - 3D Pillar Card

Today for week 11 of the 2024-25 Colour Creations Blog Hop we are looking at my favourite colour. I know that it is not to some people's liking but this rich purple is one of my favourites!

So for my favourite colour I was fortunate to be asked to make a very special birthday card by my friend for her sister, she is also my friend so no pressure there on making a fancy fold card. At least the request was to use the DSP Perennial Lavender and that has Blackberry Bliss in it. I had free rein to make a fancy fold card!

I have made a 3D Pillar card and a box for it as well. I got the directions for the card from Barry at Mitosu Crafts but the box is a matter of measuring once the card is made.

Here is how I made the card.

The base of the card is our colour of the week Blackberry Bliss and I have 5 pillars or boxes. When adhering each individual box together lay them flat so that when you get to adhere them all together you are able to lay them flat in the box.

I have layered each box with Lost Lagoon card.

On top of the Lost Lagoon I have added the Gorgeous Perennial Lavender DSP. I have cut it so that it follows along in the pattern before I cut the length for the smaller 2 pillars.

Join each of the pillars to the next pillar one at a time laying them flat while you it adheres and to make sure they are straight. This will also make sure that you will be able to lay it flat in the box for packaging.

Once all joined together we can work on the focal point.

A layer of Blackberry Bliss and Lost Lagoon before adding the rest of the focal point.

Using the gorgeous large leaf die from the Thoughtful wishes dies I cut a piece of Basic White just a bit larger.

Using the blending brushes on the piece of Basic White I have blending Blackberry Bliss on the top and Lost Lagoon on the bottom. As I will be cutting it out with the leaf die it doesn't matter that it is not perfectly smooth and blended. 

For the rest of the focal point I have embossed a layer of Basic White with the Eyelet 3D and adhered that before adding some of the decorations. The leaf we have just created plus a stamped leaf which is coloured in light and dark Lost Lagoon Stampin' Blends. I have cut out a label in Basic White using the Something Fancy Dies and then stamped the happy birthday from the Country Birdhouse stamp set and cut that out using the Stylish shapes dies. The 2 extra leaves I cut out using the extra blended paper.

 Oh don't forget to add some white bakers twine!

Now you could leave it here as a birthday card but my friend wanted a 60 so I added a 60 for her sister!

Yes there is somewhere to write I made sure there was plenty of space on the back of the pillars.

To make the box packaging I laid the card flat and measured the length and width, then measured the height. After getting the measurements I added the height to the measurements of length and width to make sure I had enough card to go up the sides and ends. To create the lid you add on 1/8 of an inch to give just a little bit of space for the lid to go over the bottom of the box.

I have used the other half of the piece of Perennial Lavender DSP to cover the top of the box and I have created a second focal point to go on the lid. To tie the lid shut I have used the white ribbon from the Petal Pink and White Diagonal Trim Pack. I left it quite long so that my friend could tie the bow how she liked.

This was a fun project and the Perennial Lavender DSP does most of the work!
