Colour Creations Blog Hop - 2024-2025 - Week 32 - Lemon Lolly - Cutest Onsie

 

Hello lovely craft friends and welcome to Lemon Lolly Week of our Colour Creations blog hop for 2024-25!

This week I am bringing you another Cutest Onsie card. I was asked by my dear friend to do a baby shower card for her niece. They didn't know the gender of the baby so this is the card I came up with. She was happy as she only wanted a simple card.

For the card base I have used Smokey Slate and layered it with Basic White and then a layer of Lemon Lolly! To add to this I have 4 sections - 2 in Smokey Slate that has been dry embossed with the Eyelet 3D embossing folder and 2 with a piece of the Mediterranean Blooms DSP that is covered in Lemon Lolly flowers.

For the focal point of the card I have die cut a circle with the Everyday Detail dies in Basic White and then stamped the Cutest Onesie in Basic Gray, colouring with the Dark Lemon Lolly Stampin' Blend.  I also cut out the hanger in Lemon Lolly card. The Iridescent  Pearls Basic Jewels have also been coloured with the Dark Lemon Lolly Stampin' Blend. The congratulation is stamped in Smokey slate and die cut with the Everyday Detail Dies.

A Sweet simple layout that can be changed up with any colour or even changing the focal point. I do hope you give it a try.

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 29 - Gray Granite - 2024-2025

Welcome to Gray Granite week of the Colour Creations Blog Hop for 2024-2025.

This week I have chosen to use a very small colour palette so that our colour in the spotlight shines!

One of my favourite flowers is the Magnolia and we have a very dark purple one in our neighbourhood that has a yellow rose flower just along side of it and I can't wait every spring to see my favourite rose flower right along side it. I was so excited when this stamp set was released as an online exclusive as it is so beautiful and I wanted it to shine today and only add hint of a splash of colour with the Petal Pink.

For the card base I have used Thick Basic White and a layer of Gray Granite. To complete the base of the card I have dry embossed a piece of Basic White with the Birch Wood 3D Embossing Folder.

On top of the our foundation I have die cut in Gray Granite the large and small magnolia and a couple of extra leaves and adhered that to the card before stamping the large Magnolia and the Seed Pod Stamp in Gray Granite ink. I then die cut both of those images and got out my Petal Pink Stampin Blends and using both the Dark and the light coloured the seed pod and the centre of the magnolia. To finish of the card I stamped the sentiment in Gray Granite and die cut it with the Stylish Shapes dies and using a little of the Petal Pink Diagonal trim underneath. Using the Dark Peal Pink Stampin' Blends I coloured the Basic Rhinestone Jewels to add a little bling to finish off the card.

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 26 - 2024 - 2025 - Garden Green - Sweet Peas Birthday Peek - A- Boo Card

 Hello my Crafty Friends, today I am bringing you a card fun fold that I made a few years ago but for some reason I must not have blogged it so I found my prototype and then found the original video from Dawn Stampin' Thoughts and now we have today's card for Garden Green week of our 2024-25 Colour Creations Blog Hop! 

I saw this great version by @2bgcrafting using the Sweet Peas Stamp set so I just had to recreate this card and make a version of it myself, it is so fun!

For this card I have used Thick Basic White card for every part of the card except the frames which I used normal Basic White.

For the front of the card I have the Peek-a-Boo window which I have cut out with the Nested Essential Dies. I first cut all the different sections to create the fun fold and I will put a template at the end of the post. I then cut out the the frame using the same dies.

Before adding the frame to the front of the card I stamped the leaves and the sentiment. I coloured the leaves with the Light Soft Sea Foam Stampin' Blends, a little bit of Garden Green Watercolor Pencil was added to the leaves and with the Blender Pen it was was smoothed out over the leaf. The Garden Green Watercolor Pencil was also added over the PEA of the sentiment and using the Blender Pen smoothed over as well. 

The "Grumpy" Pea is on the very back page of the fancy fold so to get it in the correct location you have to hold the the top layer with the cut out window over the top and stamp through the window. I have coloured this Pea with light Soft Sea Foam Stampin' Blend and then added the Garden Green Watercolor Pencil over the top to accentuate his grumpiness.

As you slowly open the card you can see that something is starting to cover our "Grumpy" Pea

When the card is fully open our Grumpy pea has been replaced in the window by a "Happy Birthday Pea" I have coloured the peas with the Soft Sea foam Light and Dark Stampin' Blends and the pea shell and added detail to the leaves and single birthday pea with the Garden Green Watercolor Pencil. The birthday Hat is Light and Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blend.

Here is the template for the card.

The middle card is adhered to the back of the front and aligning the edge and the cut out windows. The small folded section of the card front is free flowing so that they can slide behind each other to create the peek-a-boo. The Card Back is then adhered to the edge of the middle card on the same side that you have adhered the card front. This stabilizes the middle section of the card and holds it all together. I hope you can see that through watching how the card opens and folds in the video.

Colour Creations Blog Hop - 2024-2025 Week 24 - Flirty Flamingo

 

Welcome to Colour Creations Blog Hop for Flirty Flamingo week of 2024-25!

This week I wanted to go simple as I have a migraine so my brain was not up to thinking too much so I went to the Annual Catalogue and CASED the catty! (Page 46) This is the wonderful thing about the Stampin' Up! catalogue and the mini catty they have wonderful ideas and templates that you can use to give you ides and use to spark your own creativity or copy and put your own twist on it yourself! Same with your Stampin' Up Demonstrator and the Art With Heart team we are here to give you all the inspiration for when you are crafting at home.

For my card today I am using the wonderful Thoughtful Wishes bundle. I love this stamp set and dies combo. I have started with a Flirty Flamingo card base and added a piece of Thoughtful Journey DSP before adding a piece of Basic White card that has been dry embossed with the Birch Wood Embossing Folder.

For the decoration on the front of the card I have used a piece of the Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and using the Water Painters I have done a simple water wash with the Flirty Flamingo, let it dry die cut it with the Nested Essential Dies and stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso. I cut out 2 of the leaf dies to put behind the center focal point and along with the main leaf on one of them I added a little colour. To add this colour I used the water colour pencils in Old Olive and Flirty Flamingo and used the Blender pen to blend the colour. On the front leaf I made it darker and a lot more subtle on the leaf in the background. To finish off I had to add some bling and I used the Smokey Slate Pearls!

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 21 - 2024 - 2025 - Crushed Curry - Swing Arm Pop Out Fun Fold Card

 

Welcome to Crushed Curry week of the 2024-25 Colour Creations Blog Hop with the Art With Heart Team. Now the team knows this is not my favourite colour at all. I was asked many years ago to cut 1000 crowns for an even and Crushed Curry was the colour that was requested so I am a bit traumatized by the colour as that took a long time to do. IT really is a great colour to use for a bright golden yellow!

So for my card today I found this fancy fold on Dawn's Stamp'n Thoughts another fancy fold I hadn't tried before. It is called a Swing Arm Pop Out Fun Fold. I have used the Something Fancy stamp set for my sentiments and the Meandering Meadows DSP which had Crushed Curry as one of it's colours to bring my card to life this week.

My Colour combination for this card is:

For this card you need 1 long piece of card which is 10 inches by 5 1/2 inches and you then score at 4, 5 and 6 inches along the 10 inch side. From that first score mark you cut diagonally across to get a triangle piece and guess what that piece you cut off you turn around and use as the other part of the front of your card!

Because I wanted to have the same picture of the DSP on the front of the card I used 2 pieces of Meandering Meadows DSP to cut the triangles to go on the front of the card. If I had used plain card stock and cut the 2 triangles I could flip the triangle over to get the correct direction for the top piece without a problem but I wanted the same picture so needed 2 pieces of DSP.

Now hidden in the card is a small piece of Crushed Curry card and a small piece of window sheet to create a mechanism that when you pull the front and back edges (left and right) away from each other you will have the Swing Arm Pop Out surprise!

I have stamped the Sentiments on Basic White in Night of Navy and used the Stylish Shaped Dies to cut them out.

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 20 - 2024 - 2025 - Crumb Cake - Changing Leaves

 

Welcome to week 20 of the 2024-25 Colour Creations Blog Hop. Each week on a Wednesday the Art with Heart Team take one of the colours from the Stampin' Up range and challenge themselves to create with making that colour the feature! This week we have a favourite of many and a neutral colour - Crumb Cake!

For my card this week I have used a card sketch and cased her card at Stamps-n-Linger by Mary Dethrage and she has used this sketch by Freshly made sketches

Here is the colour combination I have used for my card.

I know you are saying no fancy fold. Well yes every now and then I need to have a break! I have used the beautiful Changing leaves bundle. It has the stamp set and the Hybrid Embossing Folder and Die and the Changing Leaves Dies as well. It is a fantastic bundle.

I have a Crumb Cake Base and then a layer of Crumb Cake which I have embossed with the Changing Leaves Embossing Folder. Over the top of this gorgeous base I have layered die cut leaves and twigs in Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla along with stamped Moody Mauve and die cut leaves for a pop of colour! The sentiment is stamped is Crumb Cake and is from the Changing Leaves stamp set and I have used the Changing Leave dies to cut it out and layered it on a piece of Country Woods DSP which I also used the Changing Leaves Dies to cut out. I had to have some bling so I used the Neutrals Adhesive Backed Sequins that comes in 4 colours!

This layout and design could be used with any of our other colours to have a "pop" of colour it is such a versatile layout and the wonderful Crumb Cake!
