Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 50 - Tahitian Tide - Notes of Nature Birthday

 

Welcome to week 50 of the Colour Creations Blog Hop this week we are looking at the colour Tahitian Tide.  Next week we will be starting our New InColor range for 2024-26 I do hope you will come back and check out the exciting 5 new InColors!

But first Tahitian Tide.

I thought I should end the 2023-24 Colour Creations blog hop with a little fancy fold card. It is called a Cascading Display card and I haven't done one since my Christmas blog hop a couple of years ago so it is about time to do one again!

Today I have chosen to use the Notes of Nature and the Lovely & Sweet stamp sets to create my card. 

To begin with I created the base of the card in Tahitian Tide card stock.

Once you have the structure of the card which you score a "z" at each of  the ends of you base card then add another little piece of card in the shape of a "z" to those, then adhere the layers. It all helps the card fold down to go into our envelopes.

So how did I decorate the card base.

I took a piece of the Nature's Sweetness Specialty DSP and with the Stampin' Blends I coloured in the images. I used Light and Dark Tahitian Tide, Light and Dark Crumb Cake, Light and Dark Daffodil Delight, Light Lost Lagoon and Light Pretty Peacock! I used the Lovely & Sweet Dies to cut out a couple of Tahitian card flowers. The sentiment is cut up and place a little on the left and the rest on the right!

On the middle section I have used a different piece of the Nature's Sweetness Specialty DSP. 

For the inside layer of the card where you can write your greeting I have added a circle of Nature's Sweetness Specialty DSP cut out with the Everyday Details Dies which is what I used to cut out the Birthday Sentiment which is from the Notes of Nature Stamp set. I have also stamped and coloured the leaves and flowers from the Notes of Nature stamp set and cut them out with the Dies from the bundle.

Colour Creations Blog Hop - 2022-23 - Week 5 - Tahitian Tide

 

Welcome to the Art with Heart teams Colour Creation Blog Hop for Tahitian Tide. We are now at the last of our very new In Colors for the new 2022-23 Annual Catalogue and what a lovely blue it is!

My daughter inspired my card this week. I have had the Bamboo Beauty for a while now and haven't made a card with it and I was determined to make a card. My daughter just loves Japan and the culture and the food and we were fortunate to do a 13 day tour which is way too short of Japan in 2019. There is so much to see and we will need to go back another time. One of the places we went was the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove in Kyoto it is a huge bamboo forest. I just had to get this stamp set when I saw it.

Enough reminiscing on to the card!

I have made a very simple layout for my card tonight taking a little inspiration from the Japanese flag if you will.

To start I used my blending brush with the Tahitian Tide ink and with a piece of Perfectly Penciled DSP (the one that looked the most bambooish LOL) I coloured it to a lovely shade of blue! 

I cut the circle out with the new Stylish Shapes Dies. Love these dies and I recommend that you put these on your wish list if you haven't already done so!

From there I stamped the 2 bamboo leaf stamps in Smoky Slate on a piece of Basic White card and adhered that to the card base of Tahitian Tide and got out the large Bamboo stamp and stamped in Shaded Spruce and Pear Pizzazz. I fussy cut those out and popped 2 up on dimensionals Under the sentiment which is stamped in Tahitian Tide and cut out using the Stylish Shapes Dies (now you know you want them) I have added some Tahitian tide bakers twine.

Don't forget to stamp the inside of your card and as I am giving this to my daughter this sentiment was just perfect!
