Heart of Christmas - 2022 - Week 8

 

Welcome to week 8 of the Heart of Christmas for 2022. Each Monday until the end of November the Art with Heart team are bringing you some Christmas inspiration to help you get ready for all your Christmas card and decoration needs!

Ok so I couldn't stay away from the fancy folds until after my daughters 21st which is in a few weeks, they call to me, so I have done quite a simple one you are sure to love and can make yourself with a some DSP, the Layering Circle dies which we have all had for a long time and if not ask me how to get them and a greeting stamp.

I have no idea what to call it but you will understand as I go along.

So the first step is to have your normal card base and I chose crumb cake and layer that with your gorgeous Poinsettia DSP from the Boughs of Holly DSP pack

Adhere that do the front of your card base.

Take out your 2nd largest circle die and it's scalloped circle die mate.

Cut through both the card front and the DSP with this circle die. Keep that circle die handy for later.

Using the scalloped die cut out in Gold Brushed Metallic Cardstock or straight gold if you like and then cut the circle out using your die and adhere that to the edge of your circle.

For the inside of your card I have used Basic White and have made it like a card base going the opposite direction in a "Z" Fold but like half a cm shorter in width and length so it fits inside the card. I then used so more of the gorgeous Boughs of Holly DSP to decorate the "Z" fold.

I have used the Hope & Peace Stamp set for the sentiments in this card and stamped on the inside of the card and on a circle that I have cut out using the layering circle dies that fits into the cut out circle on the front of the card. Then layered that on the Brushed Metallic Gold Card. Make sure that when you adhere the circle greeting that it is only adhered on that furthest right hand part of the "Z" fold. Line it up in your circle cut out on the front of the card when your card is all folded up so you have it in exactly the correct spot.

Now that the fancy fold part of your card is complete it was time to decorate so I thought fussy cut! Of course I did! So I went back to the gorgeous Boughs of Holly DSP and cut out 2 of the poinsettias and adhered them to either side of the front circle and added some wink of Stella! 

Oh and a gold pearl!

Ok I will probably go back to non fancy folds from now on just to get through this birthday party! It is bigger than Ben-Hur!

Heart of Christmas - 2022 - Week 5

Welcome to week 5 of the Heart of Christmas. This week I have a Boughs of Holly card for you that with a brush metallic card stock and your Cut & Emboss folder you are good to go!

So for my card today, I have used an Evening Evergreen card base and with the Brushed Metallic Cardstock in gold I have layered that under the Boughs of Holly DSP.

I decided I wanted to make a wreath so I took out the Holly outline dies from the Holly Berry Dies and cut them out in the Gold Brushed Metallic Cardstock and just adhered them with a little liquid glue on the stem end so they sat up a bit.

Under each holly leaf I cut out a copper brushed metallic cardstock pine needles. Here you can see I used a strip of the gorgeous Boughs of Holly DSP on the inside of my card to decorate.

In the centre of the card I have adhered the sentiment Peace & Joy that I have heat embossed in gold and fussy cut and tagged out with my papersnips. I put a double mini dimenional under them to give them a bit of height because of the holly leaves. Under the sentiment I have frayed some Shimmer Ribbon and of course we need a little bling so a little red and gold pearls from the Red and Green adhesive-backed pearls to finish off the card.

Heart of Christmas - Week 4 - 2022

 

Welcome to week 4 of the Heart of Christmas, this week I am going to bring you a fancy fold today because you know I can't help it. I have for you a double step fold card for you and it will fold up to go into our C6 envelopes. 

I have used the fun, Trees for Sale and the Fun Tree Lot Dies again for my card this week. They are just so much fun to use and I thought with this double step fun fold card the would work quite well.

I have made the card the same length as our normal cards in Mossy Meadow and then folded up the step for the bottom dimension and then after adding some of the gorgeous Boughs of Holly DSP I added the second step over the top to the side. The added some more of the gorgeous DSP to add all the tree depth that we would  need for this card.

For the  decoration on the card I have cut out the trees in Evening Evergreen and put Shaded spruce over the top of the base and this week I put in the tree trunks as I worked out which die that was (LOL!) I added some dimensionals to the ones on the steps. The string of lights I have stamped in Early Espresso and then coloured in with Dark Daffodil delight stampin Blends. I have strung that across the poles from front to back to give it a but more dimension. And of course we can't forget out wonderful caravan which this week I have used my favourite Blackberry bliss as the highlight colour.

As you can see just fold up carefully the bottom towards the top and your card fits perfectly into the envelope.  Hey don't forget to add some bling to your trees and for writing your Christmas message add a piece of Basic White to the back of the card and you are good to go.

Heart of Christmas - Week 1- Cascading Display Fun Fold

Welcome to the 2022 Heart of Christmas Blog Hop. We will be coming to you each Monday right up until the last week in November. This means you have lots of inspiration and lots of time to get all your Christmas cards, tags and gift ideas ready before the crazy busy month of December.

So for the first card I always like to do a fun fancy fold card and I found this design on Dawn's Stamping Thoughts and wanted to give it a try

It is a fun card and not hard and in honor our our team header for our Christmas Blog Hops this year I had to use  Trees For Sale stamp set and the Sale-A-Bration Tree Lot Dies!

It was really fun making this card. and the card base is not hard. 

Cut the base and all the panels and the mechanism and score. Simple right.

Score the base to look like this

Add the scored "z" mechanism to both sides then it is time to decorate!

So for the layers of DSP on my Card base of Crumb Cake I have used the gorgeous Boughs of Holly from the new July - Dec Mini. 2 different designs on the the doors of the cascading fold. I thought the one with the trees was perfect for this card and the other less ornate was perfect for me to add the die cut trees.

The Die Cut trees have a base of Evening evergreen and a layer of Shaded Spruce over the top and of course you need to bling up your trees with the Red and Green adhesive backed pearls.

The whole card folds down to fit into our C6 Envelopes and then cascades open to reveal ......

I have slightly sponged the Very Vanilla card with pool party and crumb cake before adding the cutest caravan and the trees. The Greeting is from the Trees For Sale stamp set. I kind of like that soft sea foam door! Just saying!

Don't forget to add a place on the back of the card so you can write your message and add another tree while you are there.
