Week 9 - Colour Creations Blog Hop - " Calypso Coral"

Today we are looking at the gorgeous colour Calypso Coral. The name always makes me thing of  Harry Belefonte as he was nicknamed the King of Calypso music! You know Day-o, Daaaay-0! I actually like this colour but I rarely use it. Today I have paired it with a couple of other colours and used the Spotlight Technique to create my card.

Rhapsody in craft, Calypso Coral, Daisy Garden, Daisy Lane, Love you more than dies, Pansy Petals DSP, Spotlight Technique, Annual Catalogue 2021, Stampin' Up!, #colourcreationsbloghop

For this card I have used the Daisy garden stamp which is a 1 large background stamp which I have stamped in memento black ink on Basic White card. I did this twice so I could colour the second one to create the spotlighted area.

Rhapsody in craft, Calypso Coral, Daisy Garden, Daisy Lane, Love you more than dies, Pansy Petals DSP, Spotlight Technique, Annual Catalogue 2021, Stampin' Up!, #colourcreationsbloghop

For the Spotlight area of the card I have stamped the Daisy Garden a second time and I then used my Stampin' Write markers to colour the daisies. I used Bumblebee for the centre, Old Olive and Mossy Meadow for the leaves, Cherry Cobbler and our colour of the day Calypso Coral for the daisy petals. For the area around the daisies I have used the Light Pool Party Stampin Blend to colour the area in. The little flower at the bottom is from the Daisy Lane stamp set which I have stamped and coloured the same way and fussy cut out.
I then used the Layering Circle Dies to cut out the the spotlight and a scalloped circle of Basic Black to layer over the front of the background stamped image.

Rhapsody in craft, Calypso Coral, Daisy Garden, Daisy Lane, Love you more than dies, Pansy Petals DSP, Spotlight Technique, Annual Catalogue 2021, Stampin' Up!, #colourcreationsbloghop

What is not easy to see is that I have added a little bit of Wink of tella to the petals and it just lifts the whole card. Under the extra daisy I have added some Gold Shimmer Ribbon which is from the new July-December Mini which you will be able to get your hands on in just a few more days as it goes live on August 3rd. It is so lovely! Now you might be wondering where the " Love you" comes from well I am glad you asked. It is from the Love you more than dies, you know the one with chocolate and coffee and all that fun stuff in it!

Rhapsody in craft, Calypso Coral, Daisy Garden, Daisy Lane, Love you more than dies, Pansy Petals DSP, Spotlight Technique, Annual Catalogue 2021, Stampin' Up!, #colourcreationsbloghop

Behind the daisy layer before the Basic Black card base I have used the Pansy Petals Designer Series paper which has Calypso Coral as one of the colours.

Hope you have enjoyed this little walk down memory lane of  this technique.

If you would like any information about this card or would like to get your hands on the new Mini coming out next week do not hesitate to contact me.

Week 40 - Colour Creations Showcase - "Real Red"

Week 40 is Real Red of our Colour Creations Showcase!

Today I have a quick and simple card for you as I had a few things on this week and a big drive into the city today to see my migraine specialist. It always takes most of the day to not only get in to see him, wait and then drive home. I am grateful for having great medical care just not for the distance that I have to to to see him. I do know that others have it far worse than me so I shouldn't complain. So I wanted to do a quick card to make sure I got it finished for you!

Today my card is kind of a spin on the spotlighting technique where the bright Real Red Daisy is in the spotlight and stands out among the elements of the card.

Rhapsody in craft, Rhapsodyincraft, Real Red, Daisy Lane, Here's A Card, Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder, Embossing Folders, Stampin' Blends, Friendship Cards, #colourcreationsshowcase, Stampin' Up, Annual Cataloge 2020-21, Jan-June Mini 2021

I have used the Daisy Lane stamp set for the main focal point of the card and coloured the daisy in with the Stampin' Blends. The daisy has both the light and dark real red and Light So saffron for the middle and Light and Dark Old olive for the stem.

Rhapsody in craft, Rhapsodyincraft, Real Red, Daisy Lane, Here's A Card, Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder, Embossing Folders, Stampin' Blends, Friendship Cards, #colourcreationsshowcase, Stampin' Up, Annual Cataloge 2020-21, Jan-June Mini 2021

To add a little bit of extra texture and flare to the card I have used the Ornate floral 3D embossing folder as a layer to give that added dimension. All the while using the Basic Black and Basic White as the neutral colours so that the Real Red Daisy Pops off the page.

Of course I couldn't help myself so I added a little bling with the a couple of Elegant faceted gems and my new favourite Mossy Meadow braided linen thread from the Dandy Garden Suite in the Jan-Jun Mini.

Now if you hold the card just right you will be able to see that I have added a touch of wink of stella to the daisy.

The sentiment that I have added to the side  of the daisy on the layer below is from the Here's A Card Stamp set, I love that stamp set and I used my Stamparatus to make sure I had it all lined up and in the right spot before stamping in memento black ink like I had with my daisy before colouring it in.

I am dedicating this card to my friends who have been there for me, I am here for you and especially a dear friend that I have spoken about a bit in the past weeks as her uncle has passed away and her husbands uncle has as well, now her mother is very sick in hospital. We all need out friends no matter what is going on in our lives but especially when we are going through very hard and difficult times. Maybe make a card for a friend today and let them know you are thinking of them.

Week 36 - Colour Creations Showcase - "Poppy Parade"

This week we are showcasing Poppy Parade!

Last week I brought to you a  double slider card, I had so much fun making it I thought I would I would bring you a quadruple slider card. Yes that is right 4 sliders. It is a small and cute card and I have used the Daisy Lane stamp set and the Flowers and Field DSP from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure which has Poppy Parade as one of its colours.

Rhapsody In Craft, Poppy Parade, quadruple slider card, slider card, friendship card, fancy fold card, Well Written Dies, Medium Daisy Punch, #colourcreationsshowcase, Saleabration 2021, Stampin' Up!

I love how compact this little card is

Rhapsody In Craft, Poppy Parade, quadruple slider card, slider card, friendship card, fancy fold card, Well Written Dies, Medium Daisy Punch, #colourcreationsshowcase, Saleabration 2021, Stampin' Up!

On the front of this card I have stamped  the small daisy from the Daisy Lane stamp set in Sahara sand 6 times and then using a little bit of light and dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends and Dark Daffodil Delight. The leaves are in mossy meadow cut from the Dandy Garden dies and I have used the Well Written dies to cut out our friend and butterfly in Silver Card stock and some Glittered Organdy Ribbon.

Rhapsody In Craft, Poppy Parade, quadruple slider card, slider card, friendship card, fancy fold card, Well Written Dies, Medium Daisy Punch, #colourcreationsshowcase, Saleabration 2021, Stampin' Up!

On the 4 sliders you can add stamped messages. I have used 2 from the Daisy Lane stamp set here and left 2 blank but you can add more.

Rhapsody In Craft, Poppy Parade, quadruple slider card, slider card, friendship card, fancy fold card, Well Written Dies, Medium Daisy Punch, #colourcreationsshowcase, Saleabration 2021, Stampin' Up!

When you  you turn the card over you have more opportunity to decorate your card. I have left it plain this time just leaving a space for you to write a message.

Rhapsody In Craft, Poppy Parade, quadruple slider card, slider card, friendship card, fancy fold card, Well Written Dies, Medium Daisy Punch, #colourcreationsshowcase, Saleabration 2021, Stampin' Up!

When you pull out the sliders I have decorated them with basic black card stock and another of the Flower and Field DSP pieces.

There are so many opportunities for putting fun sayings on this card so go wild with this explosion slider type card.

Like my card last week this card uses a sliding mechanism with a plastic bag and I used a freezer bag to make it. I have not made instructions this week but you can follow this video by Srushti Patil that I also followed then made my own decorations.

I hope you have liked a look at this fun fold and maybe give it a go. I might make instructions next time but I ran out of time this week as even in lockdown we have been quite busy buying a house. No not to move but our son is moving. So doing all the things with vendors and building inspections and lawyers in a snap lockdown. I am feeling very old that my son is old enough to move out  but I am very excited for him. So I am sorry that I haven't done the instructions for you.

Please head on over to the very creative Cathy Proctor's blog she hosts our Colour Creation Showcases each week, there you will find her wonderful creations and the list of the ladies playing along with Poppy Parade this week: Cathy's Blog

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need anymore information about my card tonight or about how to get this gorgeous DSP for free with Saleabration we have just a few days left so be quick.

Week 33 - Colour Creations Showcase - "Pear Pizzazz"

This week we are the looking at a gorgeous subtle green called Pear Pizzazz.

I have made 3 cards for you today. I needed to make sympathy cards on the weekend for my dear friend as her Uncle passed away very suddenly. I am sure like most of you sympathy cards are not always the easiest to make. As I needed them quickly as I was seeing my friend the next day and I had a migraine I did a little bit of "CASEing" Copy And Share Everything! So I have copied the designs and changed a few elements, stamp sets and colours of the cards to share them with you today
Rhapsody in craft, Pear Pizzazz, Heal Your Heart, Forever Fern, Forever Flourishing dies, Daisy Lane, Medium Daisy Punch, Very Versailles, Peaceful Moments, Painted Label Dies, Woven Heirlooms, Scripty 3D, Brick& Mortar 3D, Ornate Layer Dies, Sale-A-Bration 2021, Stampin' Up, #colourcreationsshowcase, #loveitchopit

For the first card I have cased Amy Koender's card.
Rhapsody in craft, Pear Pizzazz, Heal Your Heart, Forever Fern, Forever Flourishing dies, Daisy Lane, Medium Daisy Punch, Very Versailles, Peaceful Moments, Painted Label Dies, Woven Heirlooms, Scripty 3D, Brick& Mortar 3D, Ornate Layer Dies, Sale-A-Bration 2021, Stampin' Up, #colourcreationsshowcase, #loveitchopit

I have chosen to use the lovely vine leaves from the Very Versailles stamp set and the With Deepest Sympathy sentient from the Peaceful moments stamp set along with the Painted Label Dies.

Rhapsody in craft, Pear Pizzazz, Heal Your Heart, Forever Fern, Forever Flourishing dies, Daisy Lane, Medium Daisy Punch, Very Versailles, Peaceful Moments, Painted Label Dies, Woven Heirlooms, Scripty 3D, Brick& Mortar 3D, Ornate Layer Dies, Sale-A-Bration 2021, Stampin' Up, #colourcreationsshowcase, #loveitchopit

I stamped the vine leaves a couple of times on the left side before running it through the Cut and Emboss machine with the Subtle 3D embossing folder. I like the way when you have a mostly monochromatic card to add another layer to give just that added dimension which I have her and popped them up on dimensionals before adhering to Thick Whisper white card. After stamping the sentiment in Pear Pizzazz I cut it out with the painted labels die and added a faceted gem before popping up on dimensionals.

Rhapsody in craft, Pear Pizzazz, Heal Your Heart, Forever Fern, Forever Flourishing dies, Daisy Lane, Medium Daisy Punch, Very Versailles, Peaceful Moments, Painted Label Dies, Woven Heirlooms, Scripty 3D, Brick& Mortar 3D, Ornate Layer Dies, Sale-A-Bration 2021, Stampin' Up, #colourcreationsshowcase, #loveitchopit

My friends Uncle was a lovely man, I knew him too. He was an amazing singer with a deep baritone voice, you would love to him talk as well. A few years back I was privileged to be asked to sing a solo at and Easter service where all our churches from around Melbourne gathered on the Good Friday afternoon, Lionel got up right after I sang to read scripture and said the most lovely thing about my singing which he did not need to do. He was a lovely man and will be deeply missed by many who knew him not just his family.

The next 2 cards were inspired and Cased from Pinky O'Hagan and I have used the same colour combination for both of them as I really loved how the Merry Merlot, Blushing Bride and Garden Green went so well with Pear Pizzazz.

I used the Sale-A-Bration Heal Your Heart sentiment stamp set in combination with the Forever Fern, and Daisy lane Stamp sets and the Forever Flourishing Dies and Medium Daisy Punch plus the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder for card number 2.

Rhapsody in craft, Pear Pizzazz, Heal Your Heart, Forever Fern, Forever Flourishing dies, Daisy Lane, Medium Daisy Punch, Very Versailles, Peaceful Moments, Painted Label Dies, Woven Heirlooms, Scripty 3D, Brick& Mortar 3D, Ornate Layer Dies, Sale-A-Bration 2021, Stampin' Up, #colourcreationsshowcase, #loveitchopit

Again for this card I have gone with the thick Whisper White card base and used the 6x6 Subtle DSP pack to get my Pear Pizzazz layer.

Rhapsody in craft, Pear Pizzazz, Heal Your Heart, Forever Fern, Forever Flourishing dies, Daisy Lane, Medium Daisy Punch, Very Versailles, Peaceful Moments, Painted Label Dies, Woven Heirlooms, Scripty 3D, Brick& Mortar 3D, Ornate Layer Dies, Sale-A-Bration 2021, Stampin' Up, #colourcreationsshowcase, #loveitchopit

For my Brick & Mortar layer I first stamped the sentiment in Pear Pizzazz then cut it out with a stitched shaped oval die then I wanted to have that little space where you could see the Pear Pizzazz DSP so I used the layering oval dies a bit larger and cut that oval out before running the layer of whisper white card through the Cut and Emboss machine with the Bick & Mortar 3D embossing folder. It is a great way to be thrifty with your supplies.

At the top and bottom of the bricks I used my Stampin' Write marker in Pear Pizzazz and splattered a bit of ink droplets across the card. Very effective don't you think?

For the spray of flower and leaves I have used a Blushing Bride daisy with a clear faceted gem in the middle and both Pear Pizzazz and Garden Green Leaves, and Merry Merlot buds.

Rhapsody in craft, Pear Pizzazz, Heal Your Heart, Forever Fern, Forever Flourishing dies, Daisy Lane, Medium Daisy Punch, Very Versailles, Peaceful Moments, Painted Label Dies, Woven Heirlooms, Scripty 3D, Brick& Mortar 3D, Ornate Layer Dies, Sale-A-Bration 2021, Stampin' Up, #colourcreationsshowcase, #loveitchopit

For my third card today I have used the same colours but this time I have added the Woven Heirlooms stamp set to the Forever Fern stamp set.

Rhapsody in craft, Pear Pizzazz, Heal Your Heart, Forever Fern, Forever Flourishing dies, Daisy Lane, Medium Daisy Punch, Very Versailles, Peaceful Moments, Painted Label Dies, Woven Heirlooms, Scripty 3D, Brick& Mortar 3D, Ornate Layer Dies, Sale-A-Bration 2021, Stampin' Up, #colourcreationsshowcase, #loveitchopit

This card is another lovely soft combination of colours on the Thick Whisper white card base and  Pear Pizzazz DSP layer. For my embossed layer this time I have gone with one of my favourites Scritpy 3D embossing folder.

For the sentiment layering I have used the Ornate Layer Dies. I have a little tip for you. This ornate layer die in Whisper White is actually longer than the card base when the card is in portrait so I cut the die almost to the length I wanted but didn't go all the way through die cutting machine. I then reversed it out of the machine lined the die up with the holes and put the end that wasn't cut through first into the Cut and Emboss machine. I now had it the length I wanted.

The Pear Pizzazz layer of DSP is also cut with the ornate layer dies and I have stamped the Thinking of you in Pear Pizzazz and just added another layer of white on whiter for dimension.

Rhapsody in craft, Pear Pizzazz, Heal Your Heart, Forever Fern, Forever Flourishing dies, Daisy Lane, Medium Daisy Punch, Very Versailles, Peaceful Moments, Painted Label Dies, Woven Heirlooms, Scripty 3D, Brick& Mortar 3D, Ornate Layer Dies, Sale-A-Bration 2021, Stampin' Up, #colourcreationsshowcase, #loveitchopit

Woven Heirlooms has a beautiful sentiment for the inside of the card so I have used that as well for this card.

Rhapsody in craft, Pear Pizzazz, Heal Your Heart, Forever Fern, Forever Flourishing dies, Daisy Lane, Medium Daisy Punch, Very Versailles, Peaceful Moments, Painted Label Dies, Woven Heirlooms, Scripty 3D, Brick& Mortar 3D, Ornate Layer Dies, Sale-A-Bration 2021, Stampin' Up, #colourcreationsshowcase, #loveitchopit

Although sympathy card are not the easiest of card to always make, Stampin' Up have the most beautiful array of sentiment stamp sets that you can pair with their gorgeous colours to make very meaningful cards at a not so easy time for your friends and family.

Week 19- Colour Creations Showcase - "Granny Apple Green"

We have a bright and vibrant green for you this week and a very tasty apple too! It is a favourite eating apple in my house. My son will eat these rather than any other apple. I love to make apple crumble with these and when I make sausage rolls I grate one up and put it in the mix as well. Yum!

This week Granny Apple Green!

Rhapsody in craft, Granny Apple Green, Friendship Cards, Daisy Lane, To A Wild Rose, Daisy Punch, Medium Daisy Punch, Tasteful Labels Dies, Stampin' Up!, #colourcreationsshowcase

When I saw that Granny Apple Green was the colour for this week I thought ok "Tasty." But what am I going to do with it and what colours go with this bright and lovely green? 💭 This is the colour combination I came up with then I looked and saw that it was a common combination. I thought it was good that I was getting over my fear of crushed curry!
Whisper White, Crushed Curry, Magenta Madness, Granny Apple Green, Mossy Meadow, Basic Black, Stampin' Up!, Rhapsody in craft, #colourcreationsshowcase

I was in a bit of a daisy mood so I stamped the daisies both big and medium in the magenta madness 2 each for each flower and layered them together and then once in crushed curry and cut out the centre.  The leaves I have stamped using To A Wild Rose stamp set and I have stamped them in Granny Apple Green and then the veins of the leaves are in mossy meadow over the top.

Rhapsody in craft, Granny Apple Green, Friendship Cards, Daisy Lane, To A Wild Rose, Daisy Punch, Medium Daisy Punch, Tasteful Labels Dies, Stampin' Up!, #colourcreationsshowcase

The sentiment is from To A Wild Rose and I have used the Tasteful Labels dies to cut it out and pop it up on dimensionals. The little bit of bling this week comes in the form of the Silver metallic edge ribbon which I have coloured using the Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends pen. I have put all of this on a card base of Basic Black and Granny Apple Green DSP from the Brights 6x6 DSP pack.

Please head over to the lovely Cathy Proctor's blog as she is our host for Colour Creations Showcase each week and there you will find the list of the ladies who played along this week to find more inspiration for our colour Granny Apple Green: Cathy's Blog
