Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 22 - 2024 - 2025 - Daffodil Delight

Welcome to our weekly Wednesday Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week we are looking at the bright yellow colour of Daffodil Delight.

I have a quick card for you again today using the Spotlight on Nature Stamp set and dies.

For my card I have gone with a very simple colour palette.

To start my card I took a piece of Basic Black for the card base and layered it with another piece of Basic Black which I had embossed with the Exposed Brick 3D embossing folder.

On some Basic White card I then stamped the 3 images of the flower, leaves and the butterfly which I coloured with the Light and Dark Daffodil Delight, the Light Lemon Lolly and the Light and Dark Lost Lagoon Stampin Blends.

I then used the Spotlight on Nature dies to cut the 3 circles before adhering them with dimensionals to the card base. The sentiment is heat embossed with the WOW White Embossing Powder and you can find this sentiment in the Wildflower Designs Stamp set. Can't forget the bling which are pearls that I have colours with the Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends.

I don't know about you but I don't always write a lot on the inside of the card so I decided to add another flower to the inside of the card.

Colour Creations Blog Hop - 2023-2024 - Week 21 - Daffodil Delight - Double Slider Card

Welcome to the Colour Creations Blog Hop for our spotlight on Daffodil Delight! This is one of our yellows and is from our Brights collection!

I thought for this week as I hadn't done a double slider card in ever so long I would do one this week.

Here is the colour combination for my project today! A very simple colour palette!

I had taken some photos of the inner workings of the card but when I came to get them after I had made the card they had disappeared. For the inside workings of the card you need a plastic bag and I thought the perfect thing to recycle was the plastic bag that our card stock comes in. So I am not wasting a thing that Stampin' Up! sends you and you don't need to worry about your card stock being in plastic just make a double slider card.

So the centre section is where all the action is. I cut that piece of Daffodil Delight to measure 14.9 cm by the length of the A4 piece of card stock which is 29.5 cm. I scored 1 cm in then at 10.5 then 19 so at 9.5 cm intervals after the 1 cm to give 3 equal sections and folded all the score lines. On the 1 cm fold I put tear 'n' tape on the complete opposite side section I put a section of plastic wrapped around about 5 cm width and taped it to itself so that it would slide around. I put a piece of tear 'n' tape on the plastic right on the top left when the card was folded in and then folded the card out and placed another piece right on the edge on the right. I added 2 pieces of Daffodil delight to these tapes before closing up the box making sure that it would slide freely then we could decorate.

For this card I wanted to find a really lovely Designer Series Paper and the I couldn't go past the Hello, Irresistible which is an online exclusive! It was just perfect for what I had in mind! It has the gorgeous Daffodil delight tones and Lost Lagoon in this particular piece that I have chosen. On this pull out side I have stamped the flower from the Translucent Florals in Daffodil Delight and cut it out with the dies and placed it on a piece of Basic White which I had cut out with the Deckled Rectangle Dies. I had first stamped a stem in Lost Lagoon on the white card stock before placing the flower. The leaves are Vellum which I have first coloured with the Stampin' Blends of Soft Sea Foam and Lost Lagoon then cut out with the dies. I have then added the leafy twig like branch over the top that is stamped in Lost Lagoon. I have done the same for the other side except I used a Petal Pink Flower.

For the main centre section of the card I have stamped the 2 larger and the 2 smallest flowers in Daffodil delight and Petal Pink and layered them over the leaves that are stamped in Lost Lagoon and Soft Sea Foam. The Sentiment which comes in the Translucent Flower stamp set is stamped in Lost Lagoon and I have cut it out with the Deckled Rectangle Dies. I couldn't help myself I had to add some brushed Brass Butterflies. Of course a double bow of white bakers twine is a perfect finish after the butterflies are fluttering all around.

Each side has been punched with the slot from the Very Best Trio punch and there is plenty of room when it is fully pulled out for you to write your message to the recipient but you can also slide it just in to only display the beautiful decorations.

Normally I haven't added a stand to a double slider card but I thought that a birthday card needed to be on display and you have to be able to stand your card up so I have added a little stand to the back.

When you are mailing your card or hand delivering your card it will fit into one of our C6 envelopes so it is just perfect when all folded in to each other and I have added those little bow of bakers twine into the slots that I punched so that you know that you need to pull them to reveal the rest of your card.

Week 15 - Colour Creations Blog Hop - Daffodil Delight

Welcome to week 15 of the Colour Creations Blog Hop! I have a fast card for you today. I have a bit going on this week. You may ask what you are in lock down you can't be busy! Well I need to go get toilet paper! Yes that is true, we have only 1 roll in each toilet. So yep need to go get toilet paper and as it is such a scarce resource in lockdown times I need to go and get it. No only joking the shops have restocked now that we have been in lockdown for so long. I also have to organise a monthly get together for my church group but we will be doing that on zoom and I need to do a recording as I am singing a solo and the recordings take quite some time. So for you I have a quick card for Daffodil Delight.

Now I don't know why but the Prized Peony stamp was saying come and colour me.

I think I have only seen pinks and purples of different shades but I did a bit of research and you can actually get yellow ones as well so I went for it. Mostly pale yellow up to some darker but mostly pale but I went for it anyway. Call it artistic licence!

So for this card I have stamped the peony bloom in smoky slate on Basic White to create a background for the front larger flower. I have popped that on to a piece of Daffodil Delight card that has been embossed with the Bark 3D embossing folder and placed on a base of Thick Basic White card.

I stamped the large Peony in Memento ink and then used my Blender Pen to colour the flower in with Daffodil Delight ink and Mossy Meadow for the leaves.

I cut out the Peony with the Peony Dies and cut out an extra shape in Vellum and attached that to the back of the coloured flower just offsetting it slightly. I then popped them onto the front of the card with dimensionals and got out the Wink of Stella and put lots of gorgeous glitter all over the luscious yellow flowers.

I thought the beautiful Gold shimmer ribbon and the white crinkle ribbon combined was just what this card needed and I tied them together and I liked the look and I managed to tie a pretty good bow so I went with it and attached it with some mini glue dots.

Now the sentiment was so fun to do. I took 3 of the 4 sentiments and with my Smokey Slate Stampin' Write marker I put the ink on just the words that I wanted from each sentiment and stamped them onto Basic White and fussy cut them out with my paper snips. Popped them up on some mini dimensionals and my card was complete with it's own personalised sentiment.

Week 14 - AWH Colour Creations Showcase - " Daffodil Delight"

This week Daffodil Delight!

Tonight we are highlighting a bright and bold colour. Tonight I have made 2 cards for you that can be made by Stamping and cutting some paper or just a little stepped up as I have done tonight with a few more tools from Stampin' Up!

For my first card I was in a bit of a black mood. I have no idea why but I thought basic black would go fabulously with Daffodil delight and make it really pop.

The Artistry Bloom DSP is just so vibrant and has the splashes of Daffodil delight through it. It is a very fun pack of paper and looks fabulous against the black card base. I love this little magnolia and it just fits perfect on these stitched nested label dies and I have just received the Love of Leaves stamps so I had to use the sentiment it is just lovely. I coloured the magnolia with my stampin' blends.

To add a little more interest to my card I have dry embossed the DSP with the Greenery Embossing folder and I have cut the Daffodil delight and the sentiment layer with the stitched nested label dies. If you are just starting out on your Stampin' Up! Journey and you don't have these tools yet you can leave the Artistry bloom DSP no embossed as it is already so vibrant and you can cut the top panels any shape you like with your Paper Trimmer.

Now for my second card I did a fancy fold and went all in with the Daffodil Delight card stock.

I kept with my black and yellow theme. Don't tell my kids as it should be black, white and red! (footy fans will understand 😂) This time I went with the fancy fold goody but oldie z-fold card and cut out some card with the stitch so sweetly before fussy cutting out the flower and then colouring with the stamping blends of daffodil delight and crumb cake. Again if you didn't have these dies yet and you are just starting your Stampin' Up journey your could make this card by cutting our the rectangles and stamping then putting the dies on your wish list!

To make the card base z-fold is quite easy. Card your A4 card in half for a normal card. Fold your card in half as for a normal card base and fold the front in half back on itself. Here you can see I have also put the Forever Greenery trim combo under the card front, you could leave this off as well or step your card up with the combo or ribbon of your choice. I do love ribbon.

As you can see there are many different parts to this card so I wanted to decorate all the sides. This is the one just behind the front.

On the inside of the card I have made a place to write and the forever greenery DSP is the part that you will see when the card is folded closed.
