Heart of Christmas - Week 21 - 2022

 

Hello dear craft friends and welcome to our penultimate Heart of Christmas blog hop for 2022. Just one more week after this week. 

So I have decided at the very last minute to make a fancy fold for you. I decided I had better find one I hadn't done before and see if I could whip it up quickly as I had a meeting today and I knew my time was limited to create a card. I found a video by a UK crafter Amanda from her blog Scrimpingmommy on how to make a floating Triple diamond card so I thought I would have a go at it using our gorgeous Stampin' Up! products!

Really once you have the card base set all you have to do is decorate and what better set that the Frame & Festive and the Fitting Florets Dies and Fitting Florets DSP. Perfect.

I have used 2 pieces of Evening Evergreen card stock for my base and cut and folded the fancy fold for that and then I have used for the diamond Soft Succulent card. The Gorgeous DSP I have layered all over the folds and the diamonds before decorating. Here on the back of the card you can see a little bit of the card fold. I cut each A4 piece of card down to 14.9 cm folded them in half, folded each end back on each other and the 2 end section cut into a triangle. The middle diamond is is how you join the 2 pieces of card base together.

The folded triangles are where we get the floating diamonds part of the fancy fold from.

Now you can open the whole card out and lay it flat which is very handy when you want to write on it. As you noticed before I have added the gorgeous Fitting Florets DSP and some Basic White to the back of the card so that you can write your Christmas message to the recipient of the card.

The card can also fold up to be mailed. You will need a slightly wider envelope than the C6 but it is the same height as a C6.

Each of the Diamonds are decorated slightly differently. I have put a different sentiment on each. I have used the Stylish shapes dies to cut out a layer of Brushed Metallic Gold Card and also the sentiment stamped in Evening Evergreen.

For the Diamond on the other end of the card I have done the same and have used the Fitting Florets Dies to cut out the flowers to add to both.

For the centre diamond I have cut out the beautiful frames in the Brushed Metallic gold card. I have fussy cut the flower spray this time and with a few left over die cuts from my cards last week I added them as well to the arrangement.

Of course I couldn't walk away from the card without adding some bling so I have added some Gold adhesive-backed swirls!

I had a fun time making this card and the fold is not difficult. I just need to find time to make the envelope and that is easy with the gorgeous Fitting Florets DSP but I was running out of time to get the post up in time so I had to skip the envelope.

Heart of Christmas - Week 19

 

Welcome to week 19 of the Heart of Christmas. We are in November so that means just 4 weeks left of Heart of Christmas. "No", I say! I am loving all the inspiration from these very talented and creative team members I want it to be Christmas all the time! But alas it would not be special if it was!

This week I have a card using the Framed and Festive stamp set. It is part of the  Framed Florets Collections.

This collection is now available until January 4th. I hope you have been loving all the sneak peaks you have been getting.

For my card today I thought I would show you  a paired back version and then a stepped up version. I have made this card using panels of the gorgeous Fitting Florets DSP. Who doesn't have a couple of pieces lying around and just needs to know what to do with them. I have a card base of Evening Evergreen layered with Soft Succulent and then 2 panels layered on top of the Fitting Florets DSP. To add a little contrast the is a band across the middle of a little extra piece of DSP. I have cut out the frames in brushed metallic gold foil and stamped the greeting in Evening evergreen. 

Now you can leave your card like this or you could step it up a little.

I took out another piece of the Fitting florets DSP and fussy cut the beautiful flower array to tie in the Balmy blue and Night of Navy Band. Under the flowers I frayed some Gold Shimmer Ribbon and popped them up on dimenionals.

Here is a closer look at the frame and the contrasting band. Plus you can see the gold swirls that I have added that come in the collection too! You have to have some bling!

No matter which version you chose to do the Fitting Florets collection make a lovely card every time!

Week 16 - Heart of Christmas - Framed & Festive Sneak Peak

 

Welcome to week 16 of the Heart of Christmas. This is our Monday night time where some of the team come and play with some Christmas goodies and bring you some inspiration for you. We will continue right up until the last Monday of November.

This week I am bringing you a sneak peak of a new collection called Fitting Florets! You will be able to order these goodies starting November 1st.

From the collection I am using the Framed & Festive Cling Stamp set, the Framed Floret Dies and the gorgeous Fitting Florets DSP.

This Collection comes with another gorgeous stamp set and beautiful Designer Series Paper, the dies and some gold swirls. The Framed Florets stamps are photopolymer and the Framed & Festive stamps are red rubber cling stamps.

For my card today I have used the simple "Z" Fold and added a ribbon to give it a little extra "WOW"

So if you remember from my Friendliest Gnome cards from a couple of weeks ago, I made the "z" fold card and then put the focal point o the front with the Gnomes. I have done the same thing this time but before you put the focal point card on your card you need to do one more step.

So make sure you have put on all your gorgeous Fitting florets DSP and your Basic White so that you have somewhere to write on your card then with your Take Your Pick tool I just made a whole to thread my Gold Shimmer Ribbon through from from the back and making it long enough to tie a bow. I think next time I will make it a bit longer.

Once you have tied your ribbon you can add your focal point! I have cut out the frame in the gorgeous Distressed Gold Specialty Paper, and I have stamped the Sentiment in Basic Grey and cut it out using one of the other frames so I will have an extra frame to use later. The Flowers are cut out with the dies from the Fitting Florets DSP and there is a gorgeous leaf die also that I have used to and cut out in Soft Succulent. I have added some bling because there is never enough bling with the matt Solid Faceted Gems in Melon Mambo and Mossy Meadow!
