Welcome to our last week of the Heart of Christmas for 2023. I can't believe we have come to the end of another fantastic year of Christmas inspiration! I would like to thank the wonderful Art With Heart team for another wonderful year of the Heart of Christmas it has been another year of such beautiful inspiration.
For my card tonight I have revisited a fancy fold card that I did in 2018 and it is still a card that people ask me for details about today. If you would like to see that card here is the blog post: click here
My card today is a front panel gate fold card. I couldn't resist using the beautiful Night Divine Bundle one more time to create this card.
Here is the template for the card. There are only 2 cuts and the rest is score and folding. I suggest you score the 2 side panels at 5 cm first Cut between the 2 score lines 3 cm from the edge. then do your other score lines. It is quick and easy! Then decorate to your hearts content.
This view shows how to fold the card. With the bottom and the top thin section folded back in a point and the middle section out to the front and the side sections although folded back slightly to the front to help with balance since I have added the Nativity to the centre of the card!
When you lay the card flat this is how it looks. I have a base of Night of Navy and have used the O Holy Night DSP to decorate the panels. Making sure I have some stars at the top. I used the Deckled Circle Dies for my focal point! Night of Navy backed again and then a piece of the O Holy Night DSP with stars then I cut out the Nativity in gold foil and cut just the little bit off the hem of the shepherd and wise man to make them fit the circle.
Of course we can not forget the camels and the cattle and the sheep so they are there and some wispy clouds as well. The sentiment is from the Night Divine stamp set heat embossed in gold and die cut with the Christmas Classic Dies. Don't forget the star which is die cut from gold foil from the Stars at Night dies.
Now it will fold to go in a normal envelope but it will be a little bulky so I would lay it flat and put it in a little bit bigger envelop or make a box envelope for it.
I also added a place to write on the back and another camel as you can not have enough of these animals!

Welcome to The Heart of Christmas. Can you believe it is only 5 weeks until Christmas. That is crazy! Where has the year gone?!
This week I have tried to find yet another fancy fold. I was looking through some of my old designs and I found one but I couldn't find my blog post for it so I thought well this has to be a winner. I will try that but then I couldn't find how I made it so I had to pull apart a partially made base with no decorations to see how I made it so I could make it again for you. Don't worry I did it very carefully so that I can reglue it and decorate it!

I obviously hadn't given it away to anyone for Christmas! I will have to do that this year! LOL!
So I just had to CASE my own card for our hop today! I was trying to work out what to call it so I am going to call it a Spin, Slide, Fold Out Card! I have no idea I need to be better at names!
I have gone all sparkly and starry with my card and used the gorgeous Shining Brightly Specialty DSP for my card!
So the base of the card is Night of Navy and then layered with Very Vanilla and a layer of the gorgeous Shining Brightly Specialty DSP then I got out the Stars at Night Hybrid Embossing folder where the dies cut out the stars at the same time as you emboss! Love it and the Stars are beautiful! I have added the Night Of Navy & Gold Glittered ribbon under the star along with some die cut leaves and twigs. The leaves are in Coastal Cabana and Pretty Peacock. How good do they look with the Night of Navy and of course a little bit of Crumb Cake! The sentiments and all the sentiments when you see them are stamped in Night of Navy on Very Vanilla card and fussy cut out!
Now let's open the card out!
To open the card for the first stage you pull on the two ribbons and the cards will twist out. They are held together in the card by a square brad that you can find in the Annual Catalogue. Again this layer had the gorgeous Specialty DSP and those stars and fussy cut sentiments.
One more fold out layer. You fold the two sides out to reveal more stars and two sections to write on that I have decorated with more leaves to tie in with the front decorations.

Hello and Welcome to the Heart of Christmas for this week. We are now only a couple more weeks to go after today for this year! It has really gone incredibly fast. Of Course as promised I am keeping up with fancy folds and this week I have found another one of Sam Calcott's designs to try and make for us. This one I did try and leave the measurements the same but I thought the edge parts were a little too wide so I decided that I would adjust the measurements plus then I wouldn't have to start with a 12x12 piece of card stock.
It is called a Double Diamond Pop Up card. Ok It doesn't look like a diamond. I know I put circles on the diamonds. Soooo let me show you the base before I decorated the card.
See Diamonds! You thought I had gone crazy! Well a little bit but we are all friends here. So I decided to try this with an 11 inch by 6 inch piece of Shaded Spruce card base so that I could use any colour base that I had as I don't have all the colours in 12x12 card stock at the moment. It really just means I had to work out how far to move all the scoring lines along.
I have made a little template for you. Cut your card 11x 6 inches then score at 2.5 and 4 inches from the end then I turned it around and did the same from the other end I have indicated the lines for you. Then from both of those end score lines score across the middle at the 3 inch line. Only score at this stage. Then we score the diagonals. score from the outer bottom to the other top. Make a mark at the centre of the card so you can score from the 3 inch line in the centre up to the mark to get the diamond shape. Once you have done all the scoring then you can cut across the middle on the 3 inch line between the 2 outer score lines. Then you fold in the small triangles to leave the diamonds in the middle.
I have layered each section in gold foil and then in the gorgeous Joy of Christmas DSP Before Gold heat Embossing the sentiments from the Christmas Classics Stamp set and cut them out with the Deckled Circle Dies. I didn't want too much decoration as the card and paper are pretty spectacular so I used the pine leaves from the Joy of Noel Dies to just add to the sentiments. I couldn't help myself I had to add bling with the Tinsel Gems.
I made space on the back to write your greeting
This design of card with these measurements will fit into our card but maybe with a little bit different decorations than the pine leaves. Just flip one side bag on itself. It is a little bulky but it definitely fits! I would suggest you make your own envelope with the gorgeous Stampin' Up! Papers or even a special box for the card.

Welcome to Heart of Christmas Week 14 for 2023. We are on the home stretch of our Heart of Christmas inspiration for this year as we have just 4 more weeks including today for our Heart of Christmas blog hop for 2023. Then it will be December and you will be ready with all of your Christmas cards to send!
Today I have for you a fancy fold card that my dear friend and our fellow Heart of Christmas blog hopper Kate Morgan sent me. She thought I might be looking for a new fold that I needed to try out. Well Kate today is the day for you. She sent me a video of a card by Sam Calcott in the UK. Well I thought I had better adjust all the measurements and make sure that it would fit into our envelopes. I did actually accomplish that so here goes.
It did take me a little bit to work it out and I am blaming my migraine brain this week on taking just a couple of goes to get it the right size. I don't think that was too bad for a brain being on fire! It is basically a triple fold card that doesn't want to end really. So I did the base in Shaded Spruce and worked my way up from there. You had to cut on piece of card stock and then add another to the end to get it to be this long.
For the card I layered the whole card in gold foil and then with layered that with the Joy of Christmas DSP. For the front of the card I have used The Joy of Noel Bundle and cut out the Noel in Gold Foil, I have stamped Joyous from the stamp set in Basic Grey and fussy cut it out. I have cut out a circle using the Deckled Circle Dies and using a little bit of Balmy Blue I have blended over the circle to take that bit of raw white off the circle. Under the circle I have layered Spruce leaves and stamped and a sprig of holly and leaves and coloured them in with the Stampin' Blends and layered them on a cut out layer of Rose Gold Foil.
On the inside I have kept the decorations very minimal so that the card can fold down.
On the first panel I have gold embossed Deck the halls.
Making Spirits bright is gold embossed for the middle sections.
The last panel Tidings of comfort and joy is also gold embossed and cut out using the Christmas classic dies and layered like the first panel with some die cut leaves.
On the back I made a space for writing
What a fun and crazy card this has been.
Plus it folds flat and fits into our envelopes so there is that too!

Welcome to Week 13 of the Heart of Christmas. I hope you are excited to see all the wonderful project of the Art with Heart team this week. I know I am. I sure am excited to see what I come up with in less than 2 hours. Yes we are at that stage again this week and I have not made a thing. So here we go. Buckle up everyone for a wild ride! Ok so it will only be me on the wild ride. You sit back and enjoy the project!
I went for a quick and easy FAUX Side Step Card. Yes I know I had to keep the fancy/fun folds going. This Bundle makes making cards so easy. So what did I do. I took out the gorgeous O Holy Night DSP after cutting the base of the card in Night of Navy. The card is 8 x 5 1/2 inches and I scored it at 3,6 and 7 inches to create the step part of the card and cut the DSP to follow along the step and valleys.
The FAUX side step I have cut a piece of Night of Navy at 3 x 6 inches and scored at 4 1/4 inches to fold over to attach on the back of the card.
To decorate the card I have added another piece of the gorgeous DSP and heat embossed the largest sentiment in Gold. I have cut out the nativity in gold from the Night Divine Dies and some of the animals too. The start is from the Stars at Night Dies.
On the back of the card I have layered another piece of O Holy Night DSP and a piece of Basic White so you can write your greeting to the card recipient.

Welcome to week 12 of Christmas inspiration from the Art With Heart Team for 2023.
This week I have a simple Double "Z-Fold" card for you. I didn't have much time this week to create a card. In fact I was still creating the card a couple of hours before the blog hop was about to start so I thought I would just let the gorgeous Designer Series Paper do all the work! I knew I had to do a fancy fold as I couldn't let Theresa Gerrard down!
For my card I have used a Shaded Spruce card base on both the "z" portions and layered them with Pecan Pie card before adding the Joy of Christmas DSP to the base layer "Z"
For the tops "z" I have used the Joyful Specialty DSP with the Gold Foil through it to add that extra bit of bling to the card. In this photo you can also see I have added a space for writing but you could decorate this section more elaborately and add a writing section to the back of your card.
On the very front I have heat embossed the sentiment in gold and cut out using the Christmas Classic Dies and under each corner I have added a couple of sprigs of pine in Shaded Spruce and Old Olive. The little holly bling I have added are actually the Tinsel Gems Four Pack from the Annual Catalogue in case you missed them and these are the Berry Burst ones and I really like them!

Welcome to another week of some gorgeous Christmas craft fun and inspiration from the Art with Heart team!
This week I am going to make a Stair Stepper card! I saw a few different versions with diamonds or ovals as the focal point, I was still undecided until I sat down to create the card. I have made a side stepper cards but I thought I would do a regular stair stepper card!
Being our Heart of Christmas blog hop I went with my favourite bundle to decorate my stair stepper fun fold card! Night Divine!
When I thought about the steps of the card I thought they were perfect for all the sheep and cattle for this bundle. So I went to town and cut lots!
On the card base of Night of Navy that I have folded into different size steps, I have adhered O Holy Night DSP that follows on, one piece to another. You can see that I have done it even for the down slopes that you can't see when you look at that card from the front and you don't have to place it on these sections but I like the finished look this creates.
Under each of the steps I have added little hinges to keep the card from sliding apart when it is all standing up. Especially as I have added an extra large panel for the stable on the back stair.
I have cut out all the gorgeous Nativity scene with Basic Black and Gold Foil. I decided that the black that Joseph, Mary and Baby Jesus got lost in all the commotion of the stable and all the animals and visitors of shepherds and wise men. I have no idea how Baby Jesus was able to sleep! The other card stock that I have used to create the scene is Basic White, Pecan Pie, Copper Clay, and Crumb Cake.
You may have been wondering where the sentiment was. I just couldn't bring myself to put it on the front of the card but there was a perfect spot on the back so I have heat embossed in white the sentiment from the stamp set Night Divine onto Night of Navy and layered on O Holy Night DSP. I have added a spot on the back of the last stair to write your greeting for the card recipient.
