This week we dive in to another new colour but not an InColor, a new Basic Neutral colour called Basic Beige! So today I have created a Double Diamond Fold Card and I have used the On Line Exclusive Bundle of Latte Love and the A Little Latte DSP for my card. I thought Basic Beige was perfect for a Caramel Latte! As Basic Beige is our show Colour this week I wanted to limit the other colours that I used in my card today and only added Petal Pink, Basic White and I stamped the coffee Mug in Smokey Slate! So a very small colour palette for my card today! So how did I make this card! Well I love watching others make fancy folds and this week I found a video by The Paper Pixie and thought yes I will give this a go!

I started with a piece of Basic Beige card stock that was 4 inches by 10 5/8 inches I scored that at 2 inched on each end and 2 inches straight down the middle long ways or vertically. Then along the long ends on both side top and bottom make a mark at 4 inches then flip the card around and make a mark at 4 inches. Just easier to remember 4 inches that way. Fold the card in half mountain style and you then put a mark on the fold at 3 1/8 inches and then flip the card over and on the top of the fold do the other end at 3 1/8 inches. Use your scoring tool to join the marks up to the fold to get the diagonal lines.Make sure you use your bone folder to burnish the folds. It should end up like this once all folded. You have to push your thumbs down on the top where the diagonals meet to get them to play along but once it does it is so much fun to watch it fold into place.Once you have gotten all the folds working nicely you can then lay the card out flat to decorate. As the corners are 2 inches by 2 inches you can cut your layers to the dimensions you like. I have a layer of Petal Pink card and then the A Little Latte DSP. I chose this DSP pattern as it didn't particularly matter which direction it was going so was easier to cut.For the center of the card and the diamond that pops up I have a layer of Petal Pink card that is 2 3/4 inches by 2 3/4 inches and the Basic White is 2 5/8 by 2 5/8 inches. On the Basic White I have stamped the coffee spill splotches in Basic Beige before adhering it to the card base. Only stick the bottom half below the fold of the card so that the Diamond will Pop Up!As you can see the size of the square fits perfectly on the diamond for the 4 inch wide card.To finish off the card of course I had to have a mug of coffee and I stamped that in Smokey Slate and used the Petal Pink Blends to add a little bit of colour but I stamped the coffee in the mug with Basic Beige then cut it out with the Latte Dies!
Do you see the 2 little cups? I couldn't resist having a couple of the cups tumbling down as this card is being sent to a friend to say Let's Catch up so you need more than one cup for that! I cut them out with the dies and the handles go different ways, how cool is that then I used the sponge dauber to add a bit more Basic Beige, just like I had to the white layer! The sentiment is stamped in Basic Beige and cut out using the Deckled Rectangle Dies and layered it once again with our spotlight colour for this week.Plus this cute little fold is just the right size for our envelopes! I do hope you liked my fancy fold this week, and don't forget those fantastic On Line Exclusives come out every couple of months and his one is just perfect for all your coffee, hot chocolate or tea drinking friends!
