Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 28 - 2024 -2025 - Granny Apple Green

Welcome to Granny Apple Green Week for 2024-25
This week I decided that a little bit of colouring with my Stampin' Blends was what was needed today as it was a hot day here in Melbourne and yesterday my family and I went for a lovely walk to 7 Acre Rock! The view were magnificent! I will add a photo at the end of my post. You will want to come to Victoria just to drive there for the view!
For my card today I decided that I wanted to use the Embraced with Love stamp set it is probably one you might have missed right near the end of the Sept- Dec Mini on page 60. I chose this stamp set as my husband loves Red Pandas! Well they are rather cute!

For the card base I have created a Double Z-fold card and I have used Thick Basic White for the main case and then layered the 2nd "z" over that with Granny Apple Green Card. For the background of the focal point of the card I have used the Blending Brushes and added some Granny Apple Green ink to the centre of each section before using the Dotted Circles 3D embossing folder to add a little dimension to the Basic White Card.
For the images on the card I got out the Stampin' Blends. I do like to colour. The Stampin' Blends I have used on this card are Light and Dark Granny Apple Green and Light and Dark Poppy Parade and I used that on the greenery arch that I have stamped from the Wintery Tree Tops because you know that Red Pandas live in the tree tops!

As you can see for the leaves I have made them like a variegated leaf. For the Red Pandas I have used Light and Dark Cajun Craze, Light Pumpkin Pie, Ivory, and the Light of the Deep Combo Blends. I Blended the light Pumpkin Pie and Light Cajun Craze together together to get the lighter colour of the Red Panda and to get the brown that is the lower part of the body and legs I blended together the Light Deep Combo Blend, the Pumpkin Pie and Light Cajun Craze. The darker band on the tail was simply the Dark Cajun Craze. The Light colour around the ears and face was Ivory!

On the back section I have  added a sentiment which I have cut out with the Stylish Shapes dies like I did with the Red Pandas. I adhered the foliage and the sentiment like I did the Red Pandas and the foliage on the front with dimensionals because of the dots from the embossing folder which make it a little bit hard to adhere to if you don't use the dimensionals.

Week 19- Colour Creations Showcase - "Granny Apple Green"

We have a bright and vibrant green for you this week and a very tasty apple too! It is a favourite eating apple in my house. My son will eat these rather than any other apple. I love to make apple crumble with these and when I make sausage rolls I grate one up and put it in the mix as well. Yum!

This week Granny Apple Green!

When I saw that Granny Apple Green was the colour for this week I thought ok "Tasty." But what am I going to do with it and what colours go with this bright and lovely green? 💭 This is the colour combination I came up with then I looked and saw that it was a common combination. I thought it was good that I was getting over my fear of crushed curry!

I was in a bit of a daisy mood so I stamped the daisies both big and medium in the magenta madness 2 each for each flower and layered them together and then once in crushed curry and cut out the centre.  The leaves I have stamped using To A Wild Rose stamp set and I have stamped them in Granny Apple Green and then the veins of the leaves are in mossy meadow over the top.

The sentiment is from To A Wild Rose and I have used the Tasteful Labels dies to cut it out and pop it up on dimensionals. The little bit of bling this week comes in the form of the Silver metallic edge ribbon which I have coloured using the Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends pen. I have put all of this on a card base of Basic Black and Granny Apple Green DSP from the Brights 6x6 DSP pack.

Please head over to the lovely Cathy Proctor's blog as she is our host for Colour Creations Showcase each week and there you will find the list of the ladies who played along this week to find more inspiration for our colour Granny Apple Green: Cathy's Blog

Stampin' Up - Art With Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop Week 21 - Granny Apple Green

Tonight, the lovely ladies of the Art With Heart Team are highlighting the colour Granny Apple Green for the colour creations blog hop.

Granny Smith Apples are a favourite eating apple at our house, so it is going to be a nickname of this colour to call it Granny Smith Green as Catherine who is hosting our colour hop also called it when asking for people to join the hop.  Ok I am making myself hungry now.

Tonight, I started with casing the card in the Holiday Catalogue on page 35 using the stamp set Wishing You Well.  To CASE means Copy And Share Everything
Christmas Card, Wishing You Well, Colour Creations Blog Hop, Granny Apple Green

So, this card is a Christmas card and is so easy to make, you can do it too! This stamp set is so beautiful as it is one of the DistINKtive stamp sets. They look so real!

Ok So I added the red rhinestones for a card class I was doing but the rest of the card is exactly the same.  Thick Whisper White card base, copper metallic thread, granny apple green ink for the wreath and then tranquil tide ink for the bow and greeting and pop that up on some dimensionals. I stamp the images using my Stamparatus so you can just make a number of these for your Christmas cards this year and you will be all ready.

Well I thought there are more stamps in this set, lets use the same design and gradually increase the degree of difficulty as they say in gymnastics and diving. I do like watching those sports in the Olympics. In card making we call stepping it up!

So here is the first card exactly the same design as the Christmas one in catalogue just using the different image in the stamp set. I still don’t think I have the copper metallic thread quite right.

In this next version I have used the Tufted Dynamic Textured Embossing folder as an added layer. I have also added some bling with the pearls. Simple added monochromatic layering with the regular whisper white card stock being embossed.

The next stepped up version I have added Granny Apple Green card stack layering behind the embossed layer and behind the stamped image.

To add an extra dimension to the stamped image I have added some real red flowers.

The last card the real red flowers have been stamped as well as the greeting in real red but I have added red rhinestones to the flowers.

Whichever of these cards you chose to do they are quick and easy and you can make multiples of very quickly if you need more than 1 of these designs.

Happy stamping.

Now jump on over to the lovely Cathy Proctor to see who else is playing along tonight in the colour challenge.

If you have any questions or would like to order supplies to make these cards, just contact me or go to my online store and I will be happy to help you with your crafting.

Have a great day and thanks for spending a little time with me tonight.
