Week 7 - Colour Creations Blog Hop - Bumblebee

Today we are looking at one of the 2020-22 In Colors. Bumblebee and as the name suggests it is a honey yellow colour! Now I love to eat honey, how about you? I remember when we lived in New York we had  one of our local supermarkets get in some Leatherwood Honey which is from my home state of Tasmania and I thought I was in heaven being able to have something from home.

I digress!

My card today, I must admit is not what I had planned as I had coloured in some sunflowers a couple of weeks ago and put them aside ready to make my card. I put them somewhere safe. You know what happens when you put things in a safe place. You can not find them when you want them. Well I then had my whole day go completely out the door for other reasons and I had less than 2 hours to make a card and write this post before the hop goes live so I have thrown a card together. So here goes.

Rhapsody in craft, Bumblebee, Slimline, Love of Leaves, Friendship card, In Good Taste DSP,Stitched leaves Dies, Rock 'N' Roll technique, Annual Catalogue 2021, Stampin' Up!, #colourcreationsbloghop,

I have never made a slimline card (I know late to the party) so thought why not today and throw as many leaves at it as you can. As I was reminiscing about home and Tasmania and honey, well home, growing up we had this massive tree hanging over our fence from the neighbours yard and the very colourful leaves would fall in our yard and we would have to rake up all the leaves. So I thought Love of Leaves is perfect and I do love this stamp set and the Stitched Leaves Dies.

Rhapsody in craft, Bumblebee, Slimline, Love of Leaves, Friendship card, In Good Taste DSP,Stitched leaves Dies, Rock 'N' Roll technique, Annual Catalogue 2021, Stampin' Up!, #colourcreationsbloghop,

For all the leaves I  first tapped them on the Bumblebee Inkpad then I either used the Merry Merlot or the Mossy Meadow ink pad and I Rocked 'N' Rolled the stamp around the edge of the stamp onto the other ink pads to get the other colours with the Bumblebee. I then cut them out with the Stitched Leaves dies. I love how you can cut out the leaves and put the stitched veins in the leaves all at the same time. I have layered them on top of each other and a little double bow of linen thread on the bottom.

I love the sentiments in the particular stamp set and I have stamped this beautiful friendship stamp on Basic White in Basic Grey ink and punched out with the Everyday Label punch. and then punched out a Bumblebee label and cut it in half and just adhered it so that it just poked out. (As an aside I found the images that I had stamped and coloured in that safe place, they were with my punches, How is that a safe place???) Under the sentiment is some more linen thread and I love this little leaf it is shaped like a heart!

All of these elements are on a layer of In Good Taste DSP which is layered on Basic White and a card base of Bumblebee card stock. To finish off the card I have used the Elegant Faceted Gems.

This card is perfect for a dear friend of mine who is absolutely there for me and I can definitely count on her. Do you have a friend like that? I hope you do, they are so precious!

Phew! I made it in time.

AWHT - Creative Showcase October 2020 - All thing Designer Series Paper

Tonight we are doing all things Designer Series Paper. Are you like me? Or like I used to be. I would see all the pretty paper and just had to have it but not cut it up and use it! Well no longer! I am using it and it makes gorgeous projects because let's face it, it is SOOOOO pretty! Plus when you finish a packet of that gorgeous paper you can just buy another one and this month October is the perfect month to stock up on your favourite as Stampin' Up! has 15% off select DSP, so don't miss out on this special!

Now on to my projects. I did a few on the weekend using DSP and I had fun doing them for World Card Making Day!

I started with the Love of Leaves Bundle and the Plaid Tidings DSP. I did a bit of sleuthing on the old Pinterest and I found this gorgeous design by Mary Fish and it is so quick and easy that I had to share it with you as you will love it. My support worker was here today and she loved it so much she took my Bumblebee one so I had to make 2 more for you for tonight.

How cool are these. So I started with the Plaid Tidings and because my daughter's support worker took my bumblebee Plaid Tidings I thought I should make a couple more.

They are so easy to make with the Love of Leaves Bundle. Thick Whisper White Base, a layer of DSP of your choice at 10 x 14.4 cm then a layer of Whisper White card at 13.5 x 9 cm and die cut out your leaf with the embossing of the leaf at the same time. Pop that layer up on dimensionals as well as your leaf. Tie a little bit of linen thread and stamp the word Hello from the Love of Leaves stamp set and you are good to go and so quick to make so many card.

While I was on my Plaid tidings and Love of Leaves trend on World Card Making Day I used the 6x6 One Sheet Wonder that Claire Daly put up in our team group a few weeks ago and it is so fast to make cards. Just cut the DSP, cut your sentiment card or die cut it and then put it in your Stamparatus to make multiples and go for it.

This was the way I cut the DSP. Thanks Claire!

I made the Pretty Peacock ones first and decided that I would make the sentiment card slightly smaller on the landscape card for my Blackberry bliss cards. Lots of fun and so quick and a little bit of bling with the Silver Metallic edge ribbon.

So for my next effort on World card making day I made some cards using the colours Smokey Slate and Blackberry bliss with the In Good Taste DSP.

I was watching a video by Ronda Wade and really liked the combination and how she stamped on the DSP so I thought I would give it a try.

I really love the effect of stamping on the In Good Taste DSP it is just beautiful. So for the second card to stamp on the DSP we just turned the colours around.

It is beautiful on this whitewash paint textured DSP and the effect it gives the image. I will be doing more of these.

While I was on this colour combinations I made a fancy fold as I can't go past a fancy fold and did a quick z-fold card with Dandelion wishes and Peony Garden DSP.

I also played with some Christmas DSP and stamp options on the weekend and back to Plaid Tidings and the Nativity Dies.
rhapsodyincraft, nativity dies, for unto us, plaid tidings, Christmas cards

I just love this and I think I will have to take advantage of the 15% off on Plaid Tidings so I can make more of these for Christmas.

Snowflake Splendor DSP is also on sale and I saw this on Pinterest and had to have a go at it. I love Christmas and I thought this was fantastic!
For unto Us, Christmas, Hark the Herald, Rhapsodyincraft

The snowflakes are on the other side but look at this night sky. How cool is this. I Stamped the sentiment from For unto Us stamp set in Night of Navy and cut out the Stars in Silver with the Stitched stars dies. The sentiment is cut out using the Stitched so sweetly dies and the slits for the pool party sheer ribbon is made by the Label Me fancy Punch.

I was having too much fun so I made one more card using some scrapbook layering on a card with the Wonder of the Season DSP and the Heartwarming Hugs DSP.

For Unto Us, Rhapsody in craft, Christmas

I really had a lot of fun on the weekend for World Card Making day trying out all the fun ways to use up my DSP and different techniques and just enjoy making cards. Don't miss the opportunity this month to stock up and save so that you can make some quick and easy cards yourself.

Please head over to Rachel's blog for the list of very creative ladies to see how they have used our gorgeous DSP today. I can't wait!

Thank you for spending some crafty time with me today.

AWHT - Creative Showcase September 2020 - Masculine Cards

Tonight the Art With Heart Team are showcasing Masculine cards. I think it is a great time to be looking at masculine cards as there are so many things in the current Stampin' Up catalogue that you can use for masculine cards so I am looking forward to seeing what the team has come up with.

I have made 2 cards for you tonight using totally different products to give you a couple of ideas.

Well Said, World of Good, Memories and More, Tasteful textures, Love of leaves, Rhapsody in craft, STampin' Up, Male cards, Masculine Cards.

I have gone in a couple of different directions with these cards.

The first card I have used one of my favourite suites of the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. World of Good.

Well Said, World of Good, Memories and More, Tasteful textures, Love of leaves, Rhapsody in craft, STampin' Up, Male cards, Masculine Cards.

For this card I have paired it with the Well Said stamp set for my sentiment!

The sentiment is heat embossed in white on a sticker from the World of Good Memories and More pack. It fits perfectly!

So my card base is Early Espresso, layered with the green land DSP from the World of Good Specialty DSP then I have a layer that is a card from the World of Good Memories and More pack and the Telescope is from there too!
Well Said, World of Good, Memories and More, Tasteful textures, Love of leaves, Rhapsody in craft, STampin' Up, Male cards, Masculine Cards.

I have cut out the world dies in brass foil to add some weight to the sentiment. I love the telescope and a few years ago I bought my husband a telescope so he could see the moon and some of the planets. It was not a very expensive telescope but not a bad first one. So I just had to have these Memory and more cards and this suite! Plus having lived in both the northern and southern hemisphere now I couldn't resist these dies!
Because I liked the look of the DSP on the front just for something a little different I added a layer on the inside. It is a special card after all.

My second card tonight I really wanted to use the In Good Taste DSP another part of a suite and the whole suite In Good Taste that I just had to have when the Annual Catalogue came out! Ok so there are many things I just had to have. Crafting is a no judgement safe space!!!

Well Said, World of Good, Memories and More, Tasteful textures, Love of leaves, Rhapsody in craft, STampin' Up, Male cards, Masculine Cards.

So for this card I wanted to use the gorgeous designer series paper with all its beautiful textures and designs and use that as the backdrop for a simple card on the front.

I used the die from the Tasteful Labels dies part of the Tasteful Touches bundle and cut out 12 different pieces and glued them onto a piece of Misty Moonlight card base. I used both sides of the DSP to give you all the gorgeous colour and textures. I then layered it again on another piece of Misty Moonlight card before adhering it to the card base. I found using our Tombow Multi purpose glue was really good to give just enough wiggle room to help position all the pieces.
On the front of the card I wanted it to be quite simple so the texture and design of the paper could shine through so I thought why not play with these beautiful leaves. Did you know they were designed so that you could emboss  with the veins and cut out at the same time? You can just cut them out with out the dotty veins too if you want for other effects and if you are cutting out stamped images. How cool is that?
Well Said, World of Good, Memories and More, Tasteful textures, Love of leaves, Rhapsody in craft, STampin' Up, Male cards, Masculine Cards.

I really loved this saying from the Love of leaves stamp set so I stamped it in Misty Moonlight and cut it out with a different label from the Tasteful labels dies.
Well Said, World of Good, Memories and More, Tasteful textures, Love of leaves, Rhapsody in craft, STampin' Up, Male cards, Masculine Cards.

I had a bit of fun making these masculine cards I hope you don't find male cards too daunting now either. I am sure if you hit the next but or clink on the link to Rachel's blog you will see the list of the team who have put together more inspiration on masculine cards for you. My dear friend Rachel is hosting our monthly team showcases so head on over to her blog: Masculine Cards
