This week I have for you a fun fold springy pop up type of fold that I found watching Jay from Mitosu crafts for one of their Fun Fold Fridays and I thought I would try and make the fold but a Christmas version. This card is a card with 2 spring like folds. One upside down and attached to the base of the card and a little one that holds the focal point of the card. Let's have a look!
For my card I have chosen to use the gorgeous Peaceful Seasons and Peaceful Evergreens bundles. I am loving these this year! Plus can you see the Designer Series Paper? Yes you guessed it I have usedThe card base is in Lost Lagoon. I really can't take my eyes off this colour and I have taken the beautiful Winter Meadow DSP and dry embossed with the Painted Trees Embossing Folder. The photo was a little hard to capture but I hope you cand get the idea.
I have taken on of the other pieces of the Winter Meadows DSP and adhered to the top and bottom sections of the larger spring. The embossed DSP is adhered in the middle. Then that is adhered onto a card front and the little spring is adhered to the middle of the front of the card. There is one more piece to add to the middle spring and this makes sure that top and bottom pieces don't get out of control and spring away. No this is to hold them all together and it is only attached to the little spring and then you can decorate. Here is a side on view of the spring attached to the front of the card. Here you can see the middle little spring and how the front panel is attached to that spring and holds the fancy fold together.I am holding down the larger back spring so that you can see that the front focal point is only attached to the middle spring. For the decorations on the front of the card I have stamped the Peaceful Evergreen treen twice in Pretty Peacock and once in Lost Lagoon and cut them out with the Peaceful Evergreen Dies along with the gold foil overlay and star. I have stamped the Christmas from the Peaceful Seasons stamp set in Moody Mauve and cut it out with the Peaceful Seasons dies along with the Merry which has been heat embossed in gold. These sentiments have been popped up on dimensionals. On the inside I have heat embossed the sentiment from the Peaceful Seasons. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
Now is the time to head to the next wonderful Art with Heart team member and this week you will be heading to the amazing Andrea Sargent, I am loving her beautiful creations each week and I can't wait to see what she has for us this week. Hit the next blog button and you will go straight there.
My card this week I have used the gorgeous Peaceful Season and Peaceful Evergreens stamp sets to create my card.
I am loving Lost Lagoon this year for the Christmas trees and using the Winter Meadows DSP. Along each side of this card you can see strips of this beautiful DSP.I have a single piece of Thick Basic White which I have added the 2 strips of the Winter Meadow DSP to the edges and then another piece of Thick Basic White for the center fold of the card that I have embossed with the Dashing Designs 3D embossing folder folded in half and adhered to the back card base piece. For the focal point of the card I have heat embossed in gold the sentiment from the Peaceful Seasons stamp set and then cut out the label using the Nested Essential Dies so that the sentiment was at the bottom leaving space for the Christmas tree. The tree is stamped from the Peaceful Evergreens set in Lost lagoon ink and cut out with the Peaceful Evergreen dies along with the gold foil overlay and star. The tree and the focal point have been popped up on dimensionals. If you have any questions or would like to get you hands on the Sept-Dec Mini please contact me.
Welcome to the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop week 7 for 2024. Each week on a Monday from August - end of November the Art with Heart team will bring you some Christmas inspiration for you.
This week I thought I would try something a little different,....... a fancy fold! I had you there for a minute didn't I! HeHe! Literally as I was typing this I was choking on my tea! Yes I am doing a fancy fold but I am doing it with a difference this week. It will be in the shape of a gift box. I found this design on Pinterest, it was a short video of about 51 seconds actually by Junzi. I have created a template which I will add as I show you so that you know how I put the box together.
So let's get started.
First you will need to cut 2 of the first template which is the outside of the box.
For the inside of the box you need to cut 1.
To make the mechanism work and to attach it to the box you need to cut 2 of each of the 2 pieces left.
Then we are all about the decorations.
When you have the box all closed up I have wrapped it in the beautiful Blackberry Bliss and Gold Ribbon and stamped a Bauble from Hang an Ornament in Lost Lagoon and stamped the sentiment in versamark and heat gold embossed and attached it with a little linen thread after cutting it out with the Hang an Ornament dies. When you open the box I have stamped some beautiful trees from the Peaceful Evergreens in Lost Lagoon, Pretty Peacock and Coastal Cabana and for the main tree added a die cut of Gold Foil. To attach them to the pop up mechanism I used window sheets. From the front it give a lot of depth to the trees.I have used a little layer of Winter Meadows DSP before Gold Embossing a sentiment from the Peaceful Season stamp set and die cut using one of the label dies from the Peaceful Seasons dies. On the back of the box I have cut another label for you to write to the recipient. Here is a little video of my finished project opening and closing. We are now in September and our September-December Mini Catalogue is available so if you would like to ask any questions about my project today or would like to get your hands on the new Mini please don't hesitate contact me.
