Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 35 - 2024-2025 - Misty Moonlight

 

Welcome back after our Christmas and New Year break, I do hope that you had a wonderful time with your family and friends. Christmas time is always my favourite time of year and to add to the excitement my husband and I got married on the 28th of Dec, my birthday is the 29th and his birthday is the 30th so we just party for a week, then we need to sleep for about 3 I think as we are getting too old to party that hard! LOL!

Anyway back to the matter at hand and this week we are looking at the lovely muted blue of Misty Moonlight!

For my design this week I have cased a very simple design that I saw on Pinterest with the idea that I could make many of these for a welcome back card for my craft group at church for the beginning of February with the plan to send them out the week before to the whole group! I thought this design would be easy to replicate quickly. Then of course I added things to spice it up for the blog hop today!

For this card I have used the gorgeous Spotlight on Nature Bundle which has become one of my favourite bundles to use from the Annual Catalogue.

This card has a base of Misty Moonlight and then layered with Crumb Cake and Basic White which has been dry embossed with the Exposed Brick 3D embossing folder. the Misty Moonlight strip is the reverse side of the Wildly Flowering DSP that you see that has been placed on top of it with the Crumb Cake background with Misty Moonlight and Moody Mauve flowers.  Around this layer I have tied the Silver and White Sheer Ribbon that I have coloured with the Dark Mistly Moonlight Stampin' Blends pen. The focal point is created by die cutting 2 circles one in Misty Moonlight and one in Basic White and then I have used Crumb Cake to stamp on the Basic White before fussy cutting the Butterfly which has been coloured using the Misty Moonlight and Moody Mauve Stampin Blends and a touch of Wink of Stella. The Pearls were also coloured with the stampin blends.

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 34 - 2024 -2025 - Melon Mambo - Spotlight on Nature Birthday

 

Welcome to week 34 and Melon Mambo Week! 

Can you believe that we are one week before Christmas? I can't but I love Christmas as it is always a fun time of year for me with not only my Wedding anniversary but both mine and my husband's birthdays all in the week after Christmas so we just party from Christmas eve to New Years Day! Ok the older we get the less partying we do but I still love this time of year! 

Speaking of parties my daughter has been invited to a party of a new friend this Saturday and it is a 21st so I thought perfect Melon Mambo here we come! Melon Mambo is such a party name don't you think?!

Ok so I have done an elegant Melon Mambo card as I don't know this young lady but I think it hits the brief from my daughter! I have used the spotlight on nature bundle and who doesn't like this bundle! Plus I have used the Happy Birthday from the Magnolia Mood stamp set.

For the card base I have used Thick Basic White and you may be able to tell that the card front I have trimmed down to just edge the focal point part of the card and to leave the center of the card exposed on the edges.

So this is what those exposed edges look like when you open up the card. I have layered a piece of Melon Mambo card then a piece of Basic White which I have stamped the leaf stamp from the Spotlight on Nature stamp set in Mossy Meadow and then the Happy Birthday from the Magnolia Mood also in Mossy Meadow.  As you can see there is approximately 2 cm each side of the front of the card that has been trimmed down.

For the focal point of the card I have a layer of Melon Mambo card then a piece of Basic White which has been dry embossed with the Eyelet 3D embossing folder. Layered on there are 3 circles which are cut out with the Spotlight on Nature Dies...one int Melon Mambo, one in the Mossy Meadow colour of the Seasons of Elegance Specialty DSP and one layer of Basic White. The flower has been stamped in Basic Gray then coloured using the Stampin' Blends... Dark and Light Melon Mambo and Dark and Light Mossy Meadow. The butterfly is coloured in with the Stampin' Blends also...Light and Dark Melon Mambo and Light and Dark Calypso Coral. I have fussy cut these out and popped them up on dimensionals.

Of course we needed a little bling to finish off and it is a 21st birthday so I used the Alphabet Al A Mode Dies to cut out the 21 in the Gold Mercury Vellum Specialty DSP. The Iridescent Basic Pearl Jewels have been coloured with the Dark Melon Mambo Stampin' Blends and a little bit of Gold Twisted Thread to finish off!

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 22 - 2024 - 2025 - Daffodil Delight

 

Welcome to our weekly Wednesday Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week we are looking at the bright yellow colour of Daffodil Delight.

I have a quick card for you again today using the Spotlight on Nature Stamp set and dies.

For my card I have gone with a very simple colour palette.

To start my card I took a piece of Basic Black for the card base and layered it with another piece of Basic Black which I had embossed with the Exposed Brick 3D embossing folder.

On some Basic White card I then stamped the 3 images of the flower, leaves and the butterfly which I coloured with the Light and Dark Daffodil Delight, the Light Lemon Lolly and the Light and Dark Lost Lagoon Stampin Blends.

I then used the Spotlight on Nature dies to cut the 3 circles before adhering them with dimensionals to the card base. The sentiment is heat embossed with the WOW White Embossing Powder and you can find this sentiment in the Wildflower Designs Stamp set. Can't forget the bling which are pearls that I have colours with the Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends.

I don't know about you but I don't always write a lot on the inside of the card so I decided to add another flower to the inside of the card.

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 10 - 2024-2025 - Berry Burst - Triple Flap Fun Fold

 

This week for our journey through colour we are looking at the bright colour of Berry Burst!

One of my friends and down lines, Brenda wanted to learn to make a specific Fancy Fold for her Daughter's birthday so today we had a crafting session together and we made a Triple Flap Fun Fold. I created the card for our Berry Burst Colour Challenge and Brenda made the one for her daughter's upcoming birthday in the colour scheme of the party so we can't show you that but it looks fabulous!

For my card today I have used the Spotlight on Nature Bundle as I thought it was perfect for this card design and then the Dotted Circle 3D Embossing folder cried out to me and said you have to use me too!

For this front panel that is cut into 3 I first used my blending brush with Berry Burst on the paper and blended some ink and put the card through the Cut & Emboss machine with the Dotted Circle 3D folder BUT I debossed it OOOPS! SO instead of redoing it I just brushed over the dots with what ink was left on my blending brush and I liked the effect way better! I cut the panel into 3 to get the triple flaps and backed them on the basic white layers.

A Piece of Berry Burst card was cut at 14 cm x 28cm and then divided into 3 and the 2 sides have a z-fold. On those 4 smaller panels I have added the gorgeous Perennial Lavender DSP.

When adhere the triple panels on fold up your card base and adhere to the one side only, then alternate the middle panel before doing the bottom panel. Making sure you only adhere one half of the panel to the card base so you can open your card!

On the inside of the card I have added a piece of basic white so that you can write your greeting and I have stamped the leaf image and coloured it in with the Dark and Light Lost Lagoon and Light Pretty Peacock Stampin' Blends. The Happy Birthday is from the Online Exclusive Stamp set Magnolia Mood.

For the decoration on the front of the card I have stamped the flower stamp from the Spotlight on Nature and cut it out using the Dies. I coloured the image using the Light and Dark Berry Burst, Dark Bubble Bath, Light and Dark Lost Lagoon and Light Pretty Peacock. I then blended a little Balmy Blue over the image. For the butterfly which I fussy cut out I used Light and Dark Azure Afternoon and Light Balmy Blue. Can you see the Basic Gray pearls I have used on the body of the butterfly? 

For the Dear Friend sentiment which I have stamped in Smoky Slate I have cut out with a deckled rectangle die I have popped up on mini dimensionals that I positioned in between the dots of the embossing folder.

To give the whole card stability you have 1 layer of Berry Burst at the back to adhere the whole folded card to. This also helps it stand.

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 9 - 2024 -2025 - Basic Gray

Today we are highlighting one of our Neutral colours for week 9 of the 2024-25 Colour Creations Blog hop and that colour is Basic Gray!

Today I have totally CASEd a project with a couple of twists of my own from a demonstrator in the US her name is Jilli Bling. I just loved her project that she made using Pebble Path and so I recreated it with a few adjustments in Basic Gray.

My colour palette for you for today is Basic Gray, Gold and White, which is just stunning with these product! I have made a portfolio and 3 cards for you to go in the portfolio!

I have used the Lovely & Sweet Bundle and the Nature's Sweetness Specialty DSP to create my projects for you today!

Let's get into some of the details.

For the portfolio I have taken the Basic Gray and cut it down to 10 inches by the 8 1/4 inches of our card stock here in Australia.  Then comes a little bit of scoring. Here is a template to give you an idea.

Score down the 2 center marks at 4 3/4 and 5 1/4 inches from one side to give you a spine, then up 2 and 2 1/4 inches. Next time I make it I think I would reduce this for Australia card A4 Card so our envelopes would fit in the portfolio as well. That extra 1/4 of an inch would be perfect so just reduce the  fold up by that. Cut out the center where marked then glue the sides together with the 2 extra pieces you have cut and scored for stability and strength.

The belly band I have stamped in versa mark with a couple of the stamps from the Lovely and Sweet stamp set and then to give it a fancy end I have used a die from the Country Birdhouse Dies.

On the ends of the belly band I have added a couple of dimensionals to add then sentiment. You can see that the front of the Portfolio is layered in Basic White and the gorgeous Nature's Sweetness Specialty DSP.

I have stamped the sentiment in Versa Mark and used the new Metallic WOW Gold Embossing Powder! and cut it out with the Lovely and Sweet Dies! Layered all of this on Gold foil, Nature's Sweetness Specialty DSP cut out using the Something Fancy Dies and a little bit of Linen Thread. To finish off the Belly Band I have cut out one of the Lovely and Sweet dies in Basic White.

Card 1.

The first card that I have for you in the portfolio uses the Lovely and Sweet Bundle and a sentiment from the Country Birdhouse

For the focal point on Card 1. I have embossed the largest leaf and flower stamp onto Basic Gray with the Gold Metallic Wow Embossing Powder and with a water painter and the Whisper White and Basic Gray ink I have coloured the flowers and nuts in white and then the leaves in Basic Gray.

As you can see the painting of the image just makes it pop! To complete this card I kind of cheated as the colour on the DSP is actually Pebble Path but with Basic Gray it looks pretty good I say and then I braided a little bit of linen thread to add to the card under the layer of Gold Foil and Basic Gray Card. Don't forget to add some Basic Gray pearls they are perfect!

Card 2 & 3.

For these 2 cards I again used the  Lovely and Sweet Bundle and the Nature's Sweetness Specialty DSP and the sentiments are from Spotlight on Nature that I have embossed in the Basic White Wow embossing Powder.

To create the colour for the DSP on my 2 cards I have blended Basic Gray onto the gorgeous DSP. One a little darker than the other. Which one do you like?

Card 2.

This card I have added a layer of Basic Gray on top of the base as well as the blended DSP I have added some sprigs from the Lovely and Sweet Dies in white under the sentiment which is cut out from the Lovely and Sweet dies and layered on a Gold Foil cut out with the Something Fancy dies. Don't forget the bling of the Basic Gray Pearls.

Card 3.

This card I have blended the Basic Gray quite a bit darker as you can see and I have added a braided piece comprising of 2 pieces of Linen thread and 1 piece of white Bakers Twine. I have attached this with mini glue dots but you could attach it with liquid glue.

On the inside of each card I have gold embossed a portion of the larger leaf image as you need to have some decoration with this lovely gift of cards.
