Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 35 - 2024-2025 - Misty Moonlight

 

Welcome back after our Christmas and New Year break, I do hope that you had a wonderful time with your family and friends. Christmas time is always my favourite time of year and to add to the excitement my husband and I got married on the 28th of Dec, my birthday is the 29th and his birthday is the 30th so we just party for a week, then we need to sleep for about 3 I think as we are getting too old to party that hard! LOL!

Anyway back to the matter at hand and this week we are looking at the lovely muted blue of Misty Moonlight!

For my design this week I have cased a very simple design that I saw on Pinterest with the idea that I could make many of these for a welcome back card for my craft group at church for the beginning of February with the plan to send them out the week before to the whole group! I thought this design would be easy to replicate quickly. Then of course I added things to spice it up for the blog hop today!

For this card I have used the gorgeous Spotlight on Nature Bundle which has become one of my favourite bundles to use from the Annual Catalogue.

This card has a base of Misty Moonlight and then layered with Crumb Cake and Basic White which has been dry embossed with the Exposed Brick 3D embossing folder. the Misty Moonlight strip is the reverse side of the Wildly Flowering DSP that you see that has been placed on top of it with the Crumb Cake background with Misty Moonlight and Moody Mauve flowers.  Around this layer I have tied the Silver and White Sheer Ribbon that I have coloured with the Dark Mistly Moonlight Stampin' Blends pen. The focal point is created by die cutting 2 circles one in Misty Moonlight and one in Basic White and then I have used Crumb Cake to stamp on the Basic White before fussy cutting the Butterfly which has been coloured using the Misty Moonlight and Moody Mauve Stampin Blends and a touch of Wink of Stella. The Pearls were also coloured with the stampin blends.

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 17 - 2024-2025 - Cherry Cobbler - Wildflower Designs

 

Welcome to the Colour Creations Blog Hop 2024 for this week and our colour this week is Cherry Cobbler:

Now this week I have not done a fancy fold! I know what in the world Sharon! Also being a Cherry Cobbler card I specifically chose not to do a Christmas card! Again, what in the world Sharon!

My card this week is full of layers and texture but also very simple and easy to achieve. I have chosen the Wildly Flowering Suite of products. In this suite you have not only the stamp set but a lovely lot of dies that not only cut out the flowers in the stamp set but also the frames and you have a lovely Dashing Designs 3D Embossing folder and the beautiful Wildly Flowering DSP.

For this card I have a base of Cherry Cobbler and then a layer on top of that in Cherry Cobbler that I have used the Dashing Designs 3D embossing folder. It gives a lovely layer and texture to the card. Then I have stamped the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler on Basic White and cut out using the Wildflower Design Dies. After I had done this I chose 3 of the patterns from the Wildly Flowering DSP to compliment Cherry Cobbler and using the Wildflower dies cut out 2 to frame and another piece to anchor the whole design to the front of the card.

This photo show the bouquet of flowers from the stamp set that I have stamped in Smokey Slate and then coloured in using  Light & Dark Cherry Cobbler, Light Wild Wheat, and Light & Dark Old Olive Stampin' Blends. I then used the Dies to cut them out. Of course all bouquets need a bow and I have used White Bakers Twine.

The inside of the card didn't miss out either.

Quick and simple card this week with lots of lush colours. I do hope you will give it a try!

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 7 - 2024-2025 - Azure Afternoon

 

Welcome to Week 7 of the 2024-25 Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week we are delving into the colours that are in the Annual Catalogue that were not added new this year! Azure Afternoon is a blue from our bright colour range! 

Today I have made a card for you called the Stacked Triple Diamond Card! I followed the directions from Iced Images so it is a bit bigger than will fit into our envelopes. Next I will need to work on making it a little smaller to fit into our envelopes. Alternatively I will make a box or an envelope to fit it!

I have used 2 stamp sets for this card the Spotlight on Nature and the Country Birdhouse.

Now this is all one piece of Azure Afternoon card for the base. It may look a little complicated but it is all about 2 cuts and some scoring vertically and diagonally and you fold and guess what you get a stacked triple diamond fold!

For the decoration on the side panels I have layered first with a gorgeous panel of Wildly Flowering DSP, which is gorgeous but I wanted to have the muted colour and little pops of the design behind rather than the starkness and boldness of straight card stock can sometimes be as a layer! Try DSP as a layer sometimes it softens the look! So then I stamped the flower and the butterfly from Spotlight on Nature and coloured those with the Stampin' Blends. I used Light and Dark Soft Sea Foam and Light Mossy Meadow and the leaves. For the flowers I have used Dark Bubble Bath and Light Moody Mauve. The Butterfly I have used Light and Dark Azure AFternoon, Light Balmy Blue and Dark Crumb Cake. I stamped over top of the whole card with the cross hash stamp in Basic Beige. I stamped off once first then kept stamping until no ink then inked again stamped off once then went again until the whole panel was stamped.

For the decoration on the diamonds I have used the Country Birdhouse stamp set and dies. I stamped the greeting in Smokey Slate and fussy cut out then layered on Azure Afternoon card and fussy cut again before popping up on mini dimensionals. The middle diamond, I have stamped the bird in Smokey slate and coloured again in Stampin' Blends, Light and Dark Crumb Cake, Light Wild Wheat, Light Balmy Blue and Light Azure Afternoon. And if you go in real close I have given the bird a red eye. Those photographs always getting red eyes! The 3rd Diamond I have coloured the little flowers with the same coloured Stampin' Blends I have used before and like under the bird I have have layered with the die cut Soft Sea Foam and Mossy Meadow leaves.

On the back of the card I have layered the gorgeous Wildly Flowering DSP and some Basic White card so you can write to your friend. You can also see the fun folding of the diamonds from the back!
