Week 15 - Heart of Christmas

We are at week 15 of our Heart of Christmas blog hop and each week until the middle of  December the ladies from the Art With Heart Team will bring you some Christmas inspiration each Monday night.

This week I will be doing something in Blue and Silver tones. The reason is my girlfriend wanted to change her colour theme for Christmas this year when we were talking and she wanted to get away from the normal red and green traditional colours and go with blues and silvers. So I am going to challenge myself to make her a card in those colours!

Well I have made her a card but I have kept is quite simple and all about the words and sentiment that I know my friend will like.

Rhapsody in Craft, Heart of Christmas, Christmas Cards, For Unto Us, Stitched Rectangle Dies, Stitched Star Dies, Hippo & Friends Dies, Merry Melody 3D, Blending Brushes, Simply elegant Trim, Stampin' Up

So for this card I have started with a Night of Navy card base and layered it with silver foil. I then added an embossed layer of Basic White in the Merry Melody 3D embossing Folder with a little bit of Silver Elegant trim wrapped around it.

On another piece of Basic White I took my blending brush and with Misty Moonlight and Night of Navy I blending the 2 colours together to give the colour for the background of my White Heat Embossed Sentiments. I thought the 2 blended together gave a nice colour of the changing of the night sky. I heat embossed the sentiments from For Unto Us stamp set and cut the centre piece from the Hippo & Friends Dies and the little sentiment from the Stitched Rectangle dies where I made one of the dies fit my purpure by making it a little smaller than the die actually was.

I have also die cut some silver foil stars from the Stitched Stars dies and added a little bow of elegant trim to finish off the card. On the inside I have added a layer of Silver foil under the Basic White to continue the theme to the inside of my card.

Week 13 - Heart Of Christmas 2021

Welcome to week 13 of the Heart of Christmas, today I have for you today a quick design that you can use for almost anything. I have gone back to my Angels of Peace and treated them very simply.
Rhapsody in craft, Angels of Peace, Tidings of Christmas DSP, Hippo & Friends Dies, Fancy Fold, Christmas Cards, Hinge Fold Card, Flap Fold Card, #heartofchristmas2021, Stampin' Up!

So for this card I have made a hinge card or a flap fold card. I am not quite sure what to call it but it is a fun and quick card to make.

The first thing you need to do is cut a normal card base in Soft Succulent and then after folding in half cut a 2.5 cm or a 1 inch strip of the front edge. You will use this for the hinge mechanism.

On the inside of the card I have a Basic White piece of card that I cut at 10 x 14.5 cm and I have also cut a piece of the Tidings of Christmas DSP the same size. Cut a strip off that is 2.5 cm and flip it over and adhere to the Basic White card.

Before adhering the inside of your card down add your hinge. Fold your Soft Succulent strip in half and then cut from the fold on one side to 2.5 cm so it just sits under the DSP so you have lots of space to write.
Rhapsody in craft, Angels of Peace, Tidings of Christmas DSP, Hippo & Friends Dies, Fancy Fold, Christmas Cards, Hinge Fold Card, Flap Fold Card, #heartofchristmas2021, Stampin' Up!

On the front of the card you can attached to the hinge a sentiment or I have attached our lovely Angel which I have Gold Heat Embossed. I have popped it up on dimensionals after cutting a backing in soft succulent and gold foil using the Hippo & Friends Dies. I think these dies in this shape remind me of a lovely mirror!

Rhapsody in craft, Angels of Peace, Tidings of Christmas DSP, Hippo & Friends Dies, Fancy Fold, Christmas Cards, Hinge Fold Card, Flap Fold Card, #heartofchristmas2021, Stampin' Up!

On the inside I have place out little Angel.
Rhapsody in craft, Angels of Peace, Tidings of Christmas DSP, Hippo & Friends Dies, Fancy Fold, Christmas Cards, Hinge Fold Card, Flap Fold Card, #heartofchristmas2021, Stampin' Up!

I have heat embossed in gold the 2 sentiments and using another shape from the Hippo & Friends Dies and added them to the front and the inside of the card.

This design is quick and you can use many shapes or designs for the sentiment or focal point picture or just use it as sentiment. You do not need to double side it like I have today in this stepped up version.

If you would like any information about my project today or about any of your crafting needs please do not hesitate to contact me.

Week 12 - Heart of Christmas

Can you believe it we are already half way through our Heart of Christmas series for this year! That can only mean 1 thing! Yes you guessed it! Christmas is not very far away, dare I say only 96 days away! Ok now erase that from your panic stricken mind and let's have some fun with this week's Heart of Christmas Blog Hop.

I decided because we were panic stricken to go with the Peaceful Deer so we could all be nice and calm and peaceful!

So for my card today I have combined a few different elements to create this card and placed it all on a base of Evening Evergreen.

I first Gold heat embossed the deer and punched them out with the Deer Builder Punch. For the 2 outside deer I coloured with my Stampin' Blends. I used the Ivory, Light and Dark Crumb Cake for them. The background paper is from the Sale-A-Bration brochure is the Peaceful Prints and I have embossed that with the Bark 3D embossing folder.

Behind the deer I have cut out some more of the Peaceful Prints DSP with the Hippo & Friends Dies and stamped the trees from the Peaceful Deer stamp set in Soft Succulents and Evening Evergreen and put that through the Bark 3D embossing folder and fussy cut them out before adhering to the label and popping the deer up on dimensionals. The sentiment is heat embossed in gold and I have used the die from the Harvest Die set as it has the similar shaped end as the label I have cut our for the deer to be on.

Under the deer I have splashed across the page some gorgeous Evening Evergreen Open Weave Ribbon

If you have any questions about this card or about Sale-A-Bration and how to get your hands on this beautiful Designer Series Paper for free with a $90 purchase please do not hesitate to contact me before the end of September.

Week 11 - Heart of Christmas

Welcome to week 11 of the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop.
This week you may have come to me from Michele Taylor or you may have started here either way welcome and hope you enjoy today's hop.

I went for something a little different today. I needed to do a quick card as it is my daughter's 20th Birthday today. EEK! No more teenager's in the house! She has requested a very specific cake, I will put it at the end of the post. So quick card it was. I decided 15 quick cards were the go.

Rhapsody in Craft, Colour Blocking, For Unto Us, Hippo & Friends Dies, Merry Melody 3D Heartwarming Hugs, Harvest Meadow, Peaceful Prints, Peaceful Place Brushed Metallic, Red Foil, Black Glitter Paper, Stamp a stack, Stampin' Up, #heartofchristmas, #heartofchristmas2021

At the beginning of each new catalogue, either the annual catalogue or the mini catalogue I participate in a Designer Series paper and other specialty papers share. Where you can get a 1/4 sample of each of the new papers and some other people get a share in those papers and you all share the cost. So I thought I had better use a bit off my shares up and put these gorgeous papers to some good use.

Rhapsody in Craft, Colour Blocking, For Unto Us, Hippo & Friends Dies, Merry Melody 3D Heartwarming Hugs, Harvest Meadow, Peaceful Prints, Peaceful Place Brushed Metallic, Red Foil, Black Glitter Paper, Stamp a stack, Stampin' Up, #heartofchristmas, #heartofchristmas2021

I started with the Heart Warming Hugs DSP, I kind of used them as my colour block on my card and then had different DSP behind them depending on what I had left from the different paper shares and even a couple from a Sale-a-bration DSP. Once I had cut my Heart Warming Hugs DSP into the 2 sizes for the backdrop of the stamped greeting and I put together a few more DSP backdrops and adhered the colour blocks onto them. Once I had done that I put the whole lot through with the Merry Melody 3D Embossing folder.
Rhapsody in Craft, Colour Blocking, For Unto Us, Hippo & Friends Dies, Merry Melody 3D Heartwarming Hugs, Harvest Meadow, Peaceful Prints, Peaceful Place Brushed Metallic, Red Foil, Black Glitter Paper, Stamp a stack, Stampin' Up, #heartofchristmas, #heartofchristmas2021

I have made 15 card for you today. I made them as a stamp a stack. So in the Heart Warming Hugs DSP the colours are Real Red, Mossy Meadow and Pear Pizzazz so I stamped 2 of the Christmas Greetings from For Unto Us stamp set in the 3 colours.
Rhapsody in Craft, Colour Blocking, For Unto Us, Hippo & Friends Dies, Merry Melody 3D Heartwarming Hugs, Harvest Meadow, Peaceful Prints, Peaceful Place Brushed Metallic, Red Foil, Black Glitter Paper, Stamp a stack, Stampin' Up, #heartofchristmas, #heartofchristmas2021

Once I had stamped them in the 3 colours I got out the Hippo & Friends Dies which has some great frames and I used those to cut out the Christmas Greetings to put on the front of the cards. I am loving these label/frames dies from Hippo & Friends.

Rhapsody in Craft, Colour Blocking, For Unto Us, Hippo & Friends Dies, Merry Melody 3D Heartwarming Hugs, Harvest Meadow, Peaceful Prints, Peaceful Place Brushed Metallic, Red Foil, Black Glitter Paper, Stamp a stack, Stampin' Up, #heartofchristmas, #heartofchristmas2021

Each card either has a ribbon in Shimmer Gold or Evening Evergreen Sheer as it goes really well with the Pear Pizzazz in the DSP or a couple I just use the Matt black Dots.

Rhapsody in Craft, Colour Blocking, For Unto Us, Hippo & Friends Dies, Merry Melody 3D Heartwarming Hugs, Harvest Meadow, Peaceful Prints, Peaceful Place Brushed Metallic, Red Foil, Black Glitter Paper, Stamp a stack, Stampin' Up, #heartofchristmas, #heartofchristmas2021

So you may be wondering which Designer Series papers I used to back my colour blocking of the Heartwarming Hugs. I have used: Harvest Meadow, Peaceful Place Specialty, along with Peaceful Prints. Then I layered behind them as part of my shares that I had Brushed Metallic Cardstock in Bronze, Copper and Gold, along with Red Foil and Black Glitter paper.

I thought this would be a great way to show you how to do multiple cards, how to stamp a stack of greetings and use up some of your Designer series paper! If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me!

Now is the time to head over to the next person on our blog hop journey and the lovely Caroline Manwaring is next. I love seeing what Caroline has for us each week. She has stunning, clean cards and she is the Queen of using the subtle embossing folder!

If at any time any of the next blog buttons do not work please head to the host of this week's Tina Gillespie who will have the list of those participating and you can continue you blog hop there. Tina's Blog.

Ok here is the cake! I was asked to make a post apocalyptic ruin with moss and leaves growing.

This is the photos I found to try and replicate.

Here is my attempt! In orange poppy seed as well!

Fun fact I used the Hammered Metal 3D Embossing folder for the texture on the walls and I used the Stitched leaves dies for the texture on the leaves. Stampin' Up comes in handy for cake making as well!

Thank you for spending some crafty time with me today,
take care
