Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 27 - 2024-2025 - Gorgeous Grape

 

Welcome to Gorgeous Grape week of Colour Creations Blog Hop of 2024-25

Purples and Burgundies seem to be a favourite colour in my house. Gorgeous Grape is probably my son's favourite. Saying that however I didn't make a male card, HEHE! I finally got out the Layers of Beauty Bundle. You are probably saying FINALLY! I am saying yes I am late to the party! I have had this gorgeous bundle sitting there waiting for me to play with it so I did today!

As you can see I didn't create a fancy fold for you but I did follow a similar layout to a card that I had created a couple of years ago for Christmas. Well actually back in 2019 I think I lost a couple of years there as we all have. If you want to check out that card you can find it here: 

So how did I create this card? Well I am glad you asked! Let's look at the card base to start with.

For the first part of the card I took Thick Basic White for the base and then embossed a piece of Basic White with the Birch Wood Embossing folder.

Layering on the base of the card there is a strip of Perennial Lavender DSP and Country Woods DSP.

Layered on top of this I have a piece of Gorgeous Grape and a piece of Perennial Lavender DSP which is full of Gorgeous Grape!

Over the top of the background that I had created I used the Spotlight on Nature dies to cut out some circles 2 in the Perennial Lavender DSP and one in Basic White.

Now comes the Layers of Beauty and the colours from the Perennial Lavender DSP was my guide. 

For the flower I took the Layers of Beauty Decorative Masks and a Blending Brush and started with the Gorgeous Grape

I then went through the 5 layers continuing on with Highland Heather, Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock.

Once I had finished all the layers I then took out the Layers of Beauty stamp and with Memento Black ink stamped over the the top.

From here I used the Layer of Beauty Dies to cut out the who image and then the smaller die to cut out the one rose before doing a little bit of fussy cutting to cut the rest of the image up to put it on the card.

To finish off the card I have stamped the sentiment in Gorgeous Grape and fussy cut it up and popped it up on dimensionals and of course you have to have bling so I have coloured some Rhinestone Basic Jewels with the Dark Highland Heather Stampin' Blend as there we don't have a Gorgeous Grape Blend.

Heart of Christmas - Week 13 - 2024

 

Welcome to the Heart of Christmas for the last week of October 2024. Can you believe just 4 blog hops for this year, make sure you don't miss them! Today I am revisiting a fold that I did for week 13 believe it or not of Heart of Christmas in 2021. I had this idea in my head so I had to go back and find where I had previously done a similar card. If you want to check out that card you can find it here: Christmas Angels of Peace 2021

I called the card back then a hinge card, or a flap fold card and I think I will stick with that definition of a hinge card.

I have gone back to my favourite stamp set out of the Sept-Dec 2024 Mini the Shepherd's Care for my card today. To start this card you need create a base like any normal card base and cut an inch or 2.5 cm off the front edge.

From there it is all decoration. That strip you cut off is the hinge. So score 1 inch or 2.5 cm on 1 end and the other end you can trim down to size when you put what ever size greeting or focal point on of your choosing.

On the inside of the card I have a space for you to write and a strip of Season of Elegance Specialty DSP which is where you will adhere your hinge under before adhering this strip of DSP.

On the Front I have another contrasting piece of the Season of Elegance SDSP.

To decorate the Hinge Card now that you have put the basics together I have added a little bit more Season of Elegance to the hinge before adding the sentiment.

For the Sentiment I have cut a circle from the Country Woods DSP with the 2 3/8" circle punch then stamped the Prince of Peace stamp in Lost lagoon and punched it out with the 2" circle punch. Stamped again in Pretty Peacock and fussy cut only the Prince of Peace and popped that up on dimensionals. I stamped the other sentiment in Pretty Peacock and added to the reverse side of the sentiment on the back of the hinge.

While I was there I stamped the Town of David in Crumb Cake and Peace on Earth in Pretty Peacock.

I love how the hinge works.

Under the hinge focal point on the front you can find our Shepherd with his sheep. I have stamp him in Basic Grey and coloured them with the Stampin' Blends. Ivory for the sheep, Light and Dark Crumb Cake and Lost Lagoon and Dark Pretty Peacock for the shepherd. The Star is heat embossed in gold and fussy cut and popped up on dimensionals.

Quite a fun and easy card to do and you can put anything you like on the hinge, I do hope you will give it a go!

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 23 - 2024-2025 - Early Espresso - Double Tri-fold Fancy Fold Card

Welcome to Early Espresso Week of the Colour Creations Blog Hop for 2024.

Today I have for you a Double Tri-fold card. It is 2 tri-fold cards joined together. I follow Jay and Barry at Mitosu Crafts and this was a fold that Barry did so I thought I would give it a go.

Here is the colour combination that I used which I largely took from the Country Woods DSP.

I used 3 stamp sets for this card 2 on the front and another for the inside. The base of the card is in Early Espresso card and I went from there.

I have embossed a layer of Basic White card with the Exposed Brick embossing folder and layered a strip of Country Woods DSP after attaching the Basic White diagonal Trim from the Petal Pink and White Combo pack. The leaves are stamped in Early Espresso from the Thoughtful Wishes stamp set and coloured with light and dark Pool Party Blends and die cut out with the Thoughtful wishes dies whish are the 2 sprig of Early Espresso behind it. The sentiment is from the Country Birdhouse Stamp set and stamped in Early Espresso and Cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies.

Now to open the card.

The card opens to not 1 but 2 tri fold cards!

On the left tri-fold the card I have decorated the fold with the Country Woods DSP which has Early Espresso as one of it's colours and this piece also has Pool Party. I have embossed another piece of  Basic White with the Exposed Brick. I have stamped the images from the Country Flowers stamp set.

and I have coloured the images with the Stampin' Blends.

The flowers are Light and Dark Pool Party, Light and Dark Petal Pink, Lemon Lolly and a dab of Wild Wheat. The Pot is coloured in Light and Dark Gray Granite and a little Dark Crumb Cake. The Happy Birthday was then stamped in Early Espresso. The table is coloured in light and Dark Crumb Cake and Dark Pool Party.

On this second tri fold card I have added a sprig of die cut flowers in Pool Party, Lemon Lolly and Petal Pink with a little bit of Early Espresso and attached that to the front and the stamped image from the Thoughtful Wishes is coloured in with Stampin' blends and attached to the back.

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 20 - 2024 - 2025 - Crumb Cake - Changing Leaves

 

Welcome to week 20 of the 2024-25 Colour Creations Blog Hop. Each week on a Wednesday the Art with Heart Team take one of the colours from the Stampin' Up range and challenge themselves to create with making that colour the feature! This week we have a favourite of many and a neutral colour - Crumb Cake!

For my card this week I have used a card sketch and cased her card at Stamps-n-Linger by Mary Dethrage and she has used this sketch by Freshly made sketches

Here is the colour combination I have used for my card.

I know you are saying no fancy fold. Well yes every now and then I need to have a break! I have used the beautiful Changing leaves bundle. It has the stamp set and the Hybrid Embossing Folder and Die and the Changing Leaves Dies as well. It is a fantastic bundle.

I have a Crumb Cake Base and then a layer of Crumb Cake which I have embossed with the Changing Leaves Embossing Folder. Over the top of this gorgeous base I have layered die cut leaves and twigs in Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla along with stamped Moody Mauve and die cut leaves for a pop of colour! The sentiment is stamped is Crumb Cake and is from the Changing Leaves stamp set and I have used the Changing Leave dies to cut it out and layered it on a piece of Country Woods DSP which I also used the Changing Leaves Dies to cut out. I had to have some bling so I used the Neutrals Adhesive Backed Sequins that comes in 4 colours!

This layout and design could be used with any of our other colours to have a "pop" of colour it is such a versatile layout and the wonderful Crumb Cake!
