Week 7 - Colour Creations Blog Hop - Bumblebee

Today we are looking at one of the 2020-22 In Colors. Bumblebee and as the name suggests it is a honey yellow colour! Now I love to eat honey, how about you? I remember when we lived in New York we had  one of our local supermarkets get in some Leatherwood Honey which is from my home state of Tasmania and I thought I was in heaven being able to have something from home.

I digress!

My card today, I must admit is not what I had planned as I had coloured in some sunflowers a couple of weeks ago and put them aside ready to make my card. I put them somewhere safe. You know what happens when you put things in a safe place. You can not find them when you want them. Well I then had my whole day go completely out the door for other reasons and I had less than 2 hours to make a card and write this post before the hop goes live so I have thrown a card together. So here goes.

Rhapsody in craft, Bumblebee, Slimline, Love of Leaves, Friendship card, In Good Taste DSP,Stitched leaves Dies, Rock 'N' Roll technique, Annual Catalogue 2021, Stampin' Up!, #colourcreationsbloghop,

I have never made a slimline card (I know late to the party) so thought why not today and throw as many leaves at it as you can. As I was reminiscing about home and Tasmania and honey, well home, growing up we had this massive tree hanging over our fence from the neighbours yard and the very colourful leaves would fall in our yard and we would have to rake up all the leaves. So I thought Love of Leaves is perfect and I do love this stamp set and the Stitched Leaves Dies.

Rhapsody in craft, Bumblebee, Slimline, Love of Leaves, Friendship card, In Good Taste DSP,Stitched leaves Dies, Rock 'N' Roll technique, Annual Catalogue 2021, Stampin' Up!, #colourcreationsbloghop,

For all the leaves I  first tapped them on the Bumblebee Inkpad then I either used the Merry Merlot or the Mossy Meadow ink pad and I Rocked 'N' Rolled the stamp around the edge of the stamp onto the other ink pads to get the other colours with the Bumblebee. I then cut them out with the Stitched Leaves dies. I love how you can cut out the leaves and put the stitched veins in the leaves all at the same time. I have layered them on top of each other and a little double bow of linen thread on the bottom.

Rhapsody in craft, Bumblebee, Slimline, Love of Leaves, Friendship card, In Good Taste DSP,Stitched leaves Dies, Rock 'N' Roll technique, Annual Catalogue 2021, Stampin' Up!, #colourcreationsbloghop,

I love the sentiments in the particular stamp set and I have stamped this beautiful friendship stamp on Basic White in Basic Grey ink and punched out with the Everyday Label punch. and then punched out a Bumblebee label and cut it in half and just adhered it so that it just poked out. (As an aside I found the images that I had stamped and coloured in that safe place, they were with my punches, How is that a safe place???) Under the sentiment is some more linen thread and I love this little leaf it is shaped like a heart!
Rhapsody in craft, Bumblebee, Slimline, Love of Leaves, Friendship card, In Good Taste DSP,Stitched leaves Dies, Rock 'N' Roll technique, Annual Catalogue 2021, Stampin' Up!, #colourcreationsbloghop,

All of these elements are on a layer of In Good Taste DSP which is layered on Basic White and a card base of Bumblebee card stock. To finish off the card I have used the Elegant Faceted Gems.

This card is perfect for a dear friend of mine who is absolutely there for me and I can definitely count on her. Do you have a friend like that? I hope you do, they are so precious!

Phew! I made it in time.

Week 6 - Colour Creations Blog Hop - "Blushing Bride"

Today we are looking at the lovely pink Blushing Bride for week 6 of Colour Creations Blog Hop.     I know you will be disappointed in me but I am not doing a fancy fold today. I just had a few things on and needed a quick card to put together.

So for you today I have used the Quiet Meadow Bundle in combinations with some gorgeous DSP from In Good Taste.
Rhapsody in craft, Blushing Bride, Quiet Meadow, Quiet Meadow Bundle, Meadow Dies, Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder, In Good Taste DSP, Thinking of you, Thinking of you Card, Stampin Up! Annual Catalogue 2021, #colourcreationsbloghop, #loveitchopit

I just love the Tasteful Textiles 3D embossing folder and the In Good Taste DSP and I have used both to create the background layer for my Blushing Bride flower bouquet!

I have used a strip of Sahara Sand, Blushing Bride and Gold foil along with the stacked stone and adhered it to a piece of Whisper white card before running it through the Cut and Emboss machine in the Tasteful Textiles embossing folder. I then adhered this to a base of Thick Whisper white card.

For the flowers I have stamped them from the Quite Meadow Stamp set in Smokey slate and using the Blushing Bride Stampin' Write Markers I have coloured them in adding a little more on parts where there is extra lines to give depth of shading and fussy cut them. I have also added a little daffodil delight and then the Elegant Faceted gems. Under these I have cut out with the Meadow Dies in Old Olive, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso some sprigs for the flower arrangement. The ribbon is the Gray Granite Shimmer Ribbon to finish off the flower spray. The sentiment is cut out from the Meadow dies in soft sea foam and I have stamped the words from the Quiet Meadow stamps over it in Soft Sea Foam before stamping the Thinking of you in Blushing Bride and fussy cutting and popping up on dimensionals.

A fun card to make and if you would like any of the products or any information about this card do not hesitate to contact me.

Week 47 - Colour Creations Showcase - "Smoky Slate"

Today is a very exciting day! Why? Well I am glad you asked! Today is not only Colour Creations Showcase day but it we have a NEW ANNUAL CATALOGUE! So that means we have so much new fun products that are available to share and to purchase and play with. You are going to love them all.

Well today we are looking at one of our Neutral Colours Smoky Slate and you can pair this with just about anything you want so let's get to it!

Rhapsody in craft, Smoky Slate, Annual Catalogue 2021-22, Tasteful Touches, Tasteful Labels Dies, In Good Taste DSP, Forever Flourishing, Fresh Freesia, Soft Succulent, Friendship Cards, Elegant Cards, Elegant, Mother's Day, Mother's Day Cards, #colourcreationsshowcase, #loveitchopit, Stampin' Up

I have used the Tasteful Touches stamp set and the gorgeous In Good Taste DSP which we are so lucky it is carry over into this new Annual Catalogue. I just love this paper and stamp set so I was very happy that they did not retire. The In Good Taste DSP has Smoky Slate as one of its colours so I went straight for it for our colour challenge today.

Rhapsody in craft, Smoky Slate, Annual Catalogue 2021-22, Tasteful Touches, Tasteful Labels Dies, In Good Taste DSP, Forever Flourishing, Fresh Freesia, Soft Succulent, Friendship Cards, Elegant Cards, Elegant, Mother's Day, Mother's Day Cards, #colourcreationsshowcase, #loveitchopit, Stampin' Up

Now you may wonder what the little pop of colour I have added to go with our Smoky Slate. Well, I am glad you asked! (Those of you who are old enough will know that is a reference to the Curiosity Show😂) It is 2 of the new 2021-23 In Colors. Fresh Freesia and Soft Succulent.

I have added Fresh Freesia card to the base on top of the Smoky Slate and under the Tile DSP from In Good Taste and with the beautiful In Color Open Weave ribbons I have a little splash of that as well as the In Color Basic Jewels. The Rose from the Tasteful Touches stamp set I have firstly stamped in Smoky Slate and then added just a hint of the Fresh Freesia with both the Light and Dark Stampin' Blends

Now you can see under the rose that I have popped up on dimensionals I have stamped directly onto the In Good Taste DSP, I have stamped off onto scrap paper first the rose in Smoky Slate and then onto the DSP and I have also done the same with the leave from the stamp set in Soft Succulent. Then using the Forever Flourishing Dies I have cut out in Vellum and in the New In Color Shimmer Vellum in the Soft Succulent colour some leaves to go under the rose and sentiment.

The sentiment is stamped on Smoky Slate card in Smoky slate ink and I have used the Tasteful Labels Dies with my Cut & Emboss machine to cut out the label.

I think it is quite an elegant card and I only just had time to photograph it before my friend took it off my hands to give it to her Mum for Mother's day. So it can be used for a friendship card, A Mother's Day Card or a card to give to your daughter. I hope you will give this design a try as the DSP is just lovely and you can add any number of your favourite colours and that new shimmer vellum is so stunning! You will want it high on you wish list of new products!

Please head over to the lovely Cathy Proctor's Blog to see the always amazing inspiration from her and the list of the team participating this week so that you can go an visit them as well to their wonderful creations for this weeks colour of Smoky Slate

Week 39 - Colour Creations Showcase - "Purple Posy"

Week 39 of Colour Creations Showcase and in some ways it feels like just yesterday and on the other hand a life time ago we started this fabulous weekly sharing of colour inspiration. I think I am feeling a little nostalgic today as we got the keys to the house for my son yesterday and we are all systems go at cleaning and getting appliances and moving him in to his new place. EEEK! My baby is leaving home!

So with all this excitement I have made one card for you this week and when I thought of Purple Posy I couldn't help but continue with the alliteration on a card of a Purple Posy Prized Peony! Phew!

Well that was a mouthful! HEHE!

Here is the card that I made for you.

Rhapsody in Craft, Purple Posy, Prized Peony, Peony Dies, In Good Taste DSP, Tasteful Textiles EF, Subtle 3D EF, Dainty Diamonds EF, Friendship Card, #colourcreationsshowcase, #loveitchopit, Jan-June Mini 2021, Stampin' Up, Art With Heart

I have focused on the gorgeous large  peony stamp of the Prized Peony stamp set and added layers of texture with 3 different embossing folders.

Rhapsody in Craft, Purple Posy, Prized Peony, Peony Dies, In Good Taste DSP, Tasteful Textiles EF, Subtle 3D EF, Dainty Diamonds EF, Friendship Card, #colourcreationsshowcase, #loveitchopit, Jan-June Mini 2021, Stampin' Up, Art With Heart

Firstly I coloured the gorgeous peony with the Stampin' Blends after stamping the image in Smokey Slate. I used Light and Dark Purple Posy and Old Olive and Light So Saffron as my colours. I love the way Stampin' Up gives us help with our colouring and shading with their stamped images as all you have to do is add the darker Purple posy to the shaded areas of the image and then blend in the light over the top and work your way out. I left a little white as well for the a 3 toned rose.

Rhapsody in Craft, Purple Posy, Prized Peony, Peony Dies, In Good Taste DSP, Tasteful Textiles EF, Subtle 3D EF, Dainty Diamonds EF, Friendship Card, #colourcreationsshowcase, #loveitchopit, Jan-June Mini 2021, Stampin' Up, Art With Heart

For the layers of the card under the Prized Peony I have a Sahara Sand embossed in Dainty Diamonds, Purple Posy embossed twice with the Subtle 3D folder and the In Good Taste DSP has been embossed Tasteful Textiles 3D folder. I have popped everything on a card base of Thick Basic White.

Rhapsody in Craft, Purple Posy, Prized Peony, Peony Dies, In Good Taste DSP, Tasteful Textiles EF, Subtle 3D EF, Dainty Diamonds EF, Friendship Card, #colourcreationsshowcase, #loveitchopit, Jan-June Mini 2021, Stampin' Up, Art With Heart

Now I don't know if you can spot one more thing on the In Good Taste DSP? I have used the Purple Posy Stampin' Write Marker and sprinkled or splattered depending on your definition some ink all over the layer before I embossed it.

Rhapsody in Craft, Purple Posy, Prized Peony, Peony Dies, In Good Taste DSP, Tasteful Textiles EF, Subtle 3D EF, Dainty Diamonds EF, Friendship Card, #colourcreationsshowcase, #loveitchopit, Jan-June Mini 2021, Stampin' Up, Art With Heart

The final couple of elements you might have noticed are the gorgeous scalloped purple posy linen ribbon and the whisper white bakers twine from the Snail Mail twine combo pack page 55 of the Jan-June Mini. I have also cut the peony out using the Peony Dies and popped it up on dimensionals.
Rhapsody in Craft, Purple Posy, Prized Peony, Peony Dies, In Good Taste DSP, Tasteful Textiles EF, Subtle 3D EF, Dainty Diamonds EF, Friendship Card, #colourcreationsshowcase, #loveitchopit, Jan-June Mini 2021, Stampin' Up, Art With Heart

Ok 1 final element is the sentiment and as we don't have an ink pad I used the Stampin' Write marker on the "Love & Thanks to a dear friend" stamp from the Prized Peony stamp set and just inked the "To a dear friend" and then punched it out with the Classic Label Punch.

A quick fun card to make using some of your embossing folders and a little bit of colouring.

Now make sure you head on over to our host Cathy Proctor so you can see her always inspiring creations and get the list of the ladies participating today with Purple Posy. I love to see what they have created we have a talented group of ladies so you don't want to miss their creations. Cathy's Blog

Week 38 - Colour Creations Showcase - " Pumpkin Pie"

This week for Colour Creations Showcase we are looking at a bright orange called Pumpkin Pie.

A couple of weeks ago I needed to make a sympathy card for a friend as her uncle had passed away and this week her husbands uncle passed away, so I wanted to make another card. I thought this colour would be just perfect for adding that little bit more male influence to the card. I have also left it more of a monochromatic card.

For this card I have chosen to use the "To A Wild Rose" and Woven Heirlooms" stamp sets.
I particularly love the Woven Heirlooms stamp set as it has a lovely sentiment not only for the outside of the card "Thinking of you" in a lovely font but on the inside as well "Prayers and heartfelt sympathy are with you and your family" For the sentiment on the front I have heat embossed on Basic Black with white Stampin' Emboss Powder and fussy cut around the sentiment.
Rhapsody in craft, To A Wild Rose, Woven Heirlooms, Ornate Layer Dies, Stitched Rectangle Dies, In Good Taste DSP, Thinking of You, Pumpkin Pie, Heat Embossing, #colourcreationsshowcase, Stampin' Up, Annual Catalogue 2021

For the layers of my card I have Basic Black for the card base and have layered Pumpkin Pie then a piece of In Good Taste DSP over that before die cutting out in Gold Foil a frame using the Ornate layer dies. I then cut the centre out of the gold with my paper trimmer. I can use that piece another time. I adhered all of that together then made my Pumpkin Pie frame with the stitched rectangle dies.

As you can see here I have popped the frame and the flowers up on mini dimensionals and then adhered it slightly diagonally. Before I did any of that I will tell you how I built the flower frame.

In the To A Wild Rose stamp set there are 3 parts to the rose. I use only 2 parts as I wanted a fair amount of white still showing when I stamped on the Basic White card. I used the what would be considered the middle and then the outline layers of the rose. I first inked up the middle layer and stamped off onto a scrap piece of paper 2 times to get a lighter shade of pumpkin pie and then did a full strength pumpkin pie outline stamp of the rose.

I also did the leaves this way in Mossy Meadow but I only stamped of 1 time instead of 2 times. I then adhered the flowers to the frame with a little bit of Tombow multipurpose glue and trimmed off the excess along the edge of the frame. I then added the leaves and the glimmer ribbon and went to town with the mini dimensionals before adhering to the card and placing the sentiment also on mini dimensionals and to finish off with the matte black dots that you can find in the Jan-June Mini. I am really loving those!

Rhapsody in craft, To A Wild Rose, Woven Heirlooms, Ornate Layer Dies, Stitched Rectangle Dies, In Good Taste DSP, Thinking of You, Pumpkin Pie, Heat Embossing, #colourcreationsshowcase, Stampin' Up, Annual Catalogue 2021,

Week 34 - Colour Creations Showcase - "Petal Pink"

Week 34 and we are looking at Petal Pink!

Petal Pink is a subtle dusty pink and today I have a quick card design that you can make as I have had a busy week and no power or water at home to top things off, so needed to make something quick. It is a design that you can use for many different occasions! I think if you changed the flowers and colours up you can make it a masculine card too. Mind I know a few guys who love pink as the colour.

Rhapsody in craft, A Little Lace, Stitched so sweetly dies, In Good Taste DSP, Petal Pink, #colourcreationsshowcase, #loveitchopit, Stampin' Up, stampinup

For this card I have used the  A Little Lace stamp set as I really love the sentiment which I have stamped in basic grey and cut out with the Stitched so sweetly dies. I love it because there is a part 2 of the sentiment that you can put it on the inside of  your card.
Rhapsody in craft, A Little Lace, Stitched so sweetly dies, In Good Taste DSP, Petal Pink, #colourcreationsshowcase, #loveitchopit, Stampin' Up, stampinup

"You will always be my friend....you know too much!" Lol! I am sure you have a friend that you can use this sentiment for one of your closest BFF's!

You can see I have stamped the little flower on the inside of the card. I have used this stamp for the front of the card and fussy cut it out and with a sponge dauber I have coloured the flowers with Petal Pink ink.
Rhapsody in craft, A Little Lace, Stitched so sweetly dies, In Good Taste DSP, Petal Pink, #colourcreationsshowcase, #loveitchopit, Stampin' Up, stampinup

The friendship sentiment is popped up on dimensionals on a Thick Whisper white card base layered with Petal Pink and then In Good Taste DSP. I particularly chose this piece for the wood grain and  just on the inside of the left plank the colour is slightly petal pink in colour. The DSP just pops off the page and is a perfect background and I just love the In Good Taste DSP and the way Stampin' Up! has photographed all these elements and made beautiful papers.

The banner in the corner is our colour from last week Pear Pizzazz 6x6 DSP and the braided linen trim bow is adhered with a mini glue dot.

Heart of Christmas - November 2020

Hello and welcome to our last Heart of Christmas showcase for 2020.  I can hardly believe that we are quite here at the almost end of the year and at the same time it is almost like we are in the car as a child going, "are we there yet?"

Tonight I have a quick card using our beautiful Brushed Metallic Cardstock which you can find on page 45 of the Aug-Dec Mini catalogue. It comes in Bronze, Copper and Gold and I have used all 3 in my card and added a dash of Red Foil that you can find on page 22 of the Mini.

Rhapsody in craft, Arrange a Wreath, Brushed Metallic Cards Stock, Aug-Dec Mini 2020, 2020-21 Annual Catalogue, Stampin' Up, Stampinup, In Good Taste DSP, Lovely Labels Pick a Punch, Christmas Cards, Christmas, Heart of Christmas 2020

I have decided to use the Arrange a wreathe bundle from the annual Catalogue for tonight's quick card and also a little bit of paper from the In Good Taste DSP and the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch.

Rhapsody in craft, Arrange a Wreath, Brushed Metallic Card Stock, Aug-Dec Mini 2020, 2020-21 Annual Catalogue, Stampin' Up, Stampinup, In Good Taste DSP, Lovely Labels Pick a Punch, Christmas Cards, Christmas, Heart of Christmas 2020

For this card I have layered my wreath onto strips 3.4 x 9.5 cm wide of In Good Taste DSP and then onto a piece of Garden Green card 10x 14.5 cm which I have popped up on dimensional. I waited to add it to my card base of Garden green until my wreath was attached with the Poppy Parade and gold trim ribbon from the All the Trimmings ribbon combo pack.

Rhapsody in craft, Arrange a Wreath, Brushed Metallic Card Stock,Aug-Dec Mini 2020, 2020-21 Annual Catalogue, Stampin' Up, Stampinup, In Good Taste DSP, Lovely Labels Pick a Punch, Christmas Cards, Christmas, Heart of Christmas 2020
For the wreath I have cut die the Bronze, Copper and Gold Brushed Metallic Card Stock and adhered it to each other and the card front using Tombow multipurpose glue.

I have used the red foil for the poinsettia and the bow of our wreath to add just that extra bit of bling.

Rhapsody in craft, Arrange a Wreath, Aug-Dec Mini 2020, 2020-21 Annual Catalogue, Stampin' Up, Stampinup, In Good Taste DSP, Lovely Labels Pick a Punch, Christmas Cards, Brushed Metallic Card Stock, Christmas, Heart of Christmas 2020

The sentiment is stamped in Sahara sand and punch out with the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch and popped up on some dimensionals. You might notice some gold, brass and copper baubles behind my card, they are hanging on my tree as I have already put it up and decorated it. I still need to decorate the rest of the house however.

Rhapsody in craft, Arrange a Wreath, Aug-Dec Mini 2020, 2020-21 Annual Catalogue, Stampin' Up, Stampinup, In Good Taste DSP, Lovely Labels Pick a Punch, Christmas Cards, Christmas, Brushed Metallic Card stock, Heart of Christmas 2020

I chose to do the card opening vertically as I thought is worked better for the wreath. On the inside I placed a little strip of the In Good Taste DSP to decorate my card.

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and have lots of fun making and sending out your Christmas cards

Now please head over to our host's blog for one more time, my friend and very creative Judy May. There you will find a list of the team who are participating tonight.

If you have any questions or would like to get these gorgeous products in your hands do not hesitate to contact me.
