Heart of Christmas 2025 - Week 13

 

We have come to the last Heart of Christmas blog hop for 2025, I am so glad that you have been on the  journey with us this year.

So for the last project this year I have returned to the stamp set that I started our journey on 13 weeks ago " A Child is Born"

This is such a beautiful Stamp set and I just love how easy it is to colour as well.

So for the base of my card I have used Pecan Pie  and added a layer of Basic Beige which I have embossed with the Exposed Brick 3D embossing folder, I have then embossed 2 layers of Pecan Pie in the Birch Wood 3D embossing folder and cut the out the frames slightly different sizes using the Every Day Arches dies.

I coloured the Nativity scene with water colour pencils and blended them with the wink of stella brush. I first stamped the scene in Early Espresso on Basic White and fussy cut it out. I used a combination of colours for the hay (Daffodil delight and Crushed Curry), the Stall (Early Espresso and Pecan Pie, Mary's Hair (Pecan Pie, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight) and Baby Jesus (Night of Navy and Balmy Blue, Joseph I used singular colours on his clothing and hair.

It is a little hard to see the shimmer of the Wink Of Stella but I think you can see it on this one!

The sentiment is heat embossed in gold on some Basic Beige card and I used the Textured Note Des to cut it out and popped it up on some dimensionals and the Gold Foil Star I used the Peace on Earth Dies.

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 29 - Gray Granite - 2024-2025

Welcome to Gray Granite week of the Colour Creations Blog Hop for 2024-2025.

This week I have chosen to use a very small colour palette so that our colour in the spotlight shines!

One of my favourite flowers is the Magnolia and we have a very dark purple one in our neighbourhood that has a yellow rose flower just along side of it and I can't wait every spring to see my favourite rose flower right along side it. I was so excited when this stamp set was released as an online exclusive as it is so beautiful and I wanted it to shine today and only add hint of a splash of colour with the Petal Pink.

For the card base I have used Thick Basic White and a layer of Gray Granite. To complete the base of the card I have dry embossed a piece of Basic White with the Birch Wood 3D Embossing Folder.

On top of the our foundation I have die cut in Gray Granite the large and small magnolia and a couple of extra leaves and adhered that to the card before stamping the large Magnolia and the Seed Pod Stamp in Gray Granite ink. I then die cut both of those images and got out my Petal Pink Stampin Blends and using both the Dark and the light coloured the seed pod and the centre of the magnolia. To finish of the card I stamped the sentiment in Gray Granite and die cut it with the Stylish Shapes dies and using a little of the Petal Pink Diagonal trim underneath. Using the Dark Peal Pink Stampin' Blends I coloured the Basic Rhinestone Jewels to add a little bling to finish off the card.

Heart of Christmas - Week 15 - 2024

 

Hello and welcome to The Heart of Christmas week 15 for 2024. This week I have channeled my friend Tina again with another Sheet Load of Cards design and my friend Christine who loves to use lots of Designer Series paper in her designs. So you guessed it no fancy fold this week.

My Colours again this week are Pretty Peacock and Lost Lagoon. I chose my DSP first then I still went to my go to colour for this year. When I went to go for the Pretty Peacock I am nearly out. I have 2 sheets left after the cards I made today so I couldn't make 8 like I would have been able to with the design I have so I will need to get some more. The GOOD NEWS is that there is a seasonal sale on this week for the Annual Catalogue so I will be able to replenish my stock. The add for the sale is at the end of this blog. 

For the card base I have used my scarce supply (LOL) of Pretty Peacock Card and added a layer of on top dry embossed with the Birch Wood 3D embossing folder.

The next layer is a layer of Lost Lagoon and a layer of Winter Meadow DSP.

Continuing to follow the  Sheet Loads of Card design from January 2021 and channeling my friend Christine with her love of using our gorgeous Designer series paper this layer is Lost Lagoon and the Nest of Winter DSP.

For the focal point of the card I have layered a piece of I have stamped the Christmas tree from the Peaceful Evergreens in Pretty Peacock and then using the Peaceful Evergreens Dies cut out the star and the over lay from the Gold Mercury Vellum.

For the sentiment I have stamped the Merry from the Peaceful Season Stamp set in Cherry Cobbler and cut out the Christmas in Pretty Peacock and backed it with Lost Lagoon with the Peaceful Season Dies. To finish off I used the Neutrals Adhesive Back Sequins.

This was a fun Sheet Loads of Cards design to do and it is a great way to make lots of cards if you still have lots of Christmas cards to make. This design will make 8.

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 27 - 2024-2025 - Gorgeous Grape

 

Welcome to Gorgeous Grape week of Colour Creations Blog Hop of 2024-25

Purples and Burgundies seem to be a favourite colour in my house. Gorgeous Grape is probably my son's favourite. Saying that however I didn't make a male card, HEHE! I finally got out the Layers of Beauty Bundle. You are probably saying FINALLY! I am saying yes I am late to the party! I have had this gorgeous bundle sitting there waiting for me to play with it so I did today!

As you can see I didn't create a fancy fold for you but I did follow a similar layout to a card that I had created a couple of years ago for Christmas. Well actually back in 2019 I think I lost a couple of years there as we all have. If you want to check out that card you can find it here: 

So how did I create this card? Well I am glad you asked! Let's look at the card base to start with.

For the first part of the card I took Thick Basic White for the base and then embossed a piece of Basic White with the Birch Wood Embossing folder.

Layering on the base of the card there is a strip of Perennial Lavender DSP and Country Woods DSP.

Layered on top of this I have a piece of Gorgeous Grape and a piece of Perennial Lavender DSP which is full of Gorgeous Grape!

Over the top of the background that I had created I used the Spotlight on Nature dies to cut out some circles 2 in the Perennial Lavender DSP and one in Basic White.

Now comes the Layers of Beauty and the colours from the Perennial Lavender DSP was my guide. 

For the flower I took the Layers of Beauty Decorative Masks and a Blending Brush and started with the Gorgeous Grape

I then went through the 5 layers continuing on with Highland Heather, Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock.

Once I had finished all the layers I then took out the Layers of Beauty stamp and with Memento Black ink stamped over the the top.

From here I used the Layer of Beauty Dies to cut out the who image and then the smaller die to cut out the one rose before doing a little bit of fussy cutting to cut the rest of the image up to put it on the card.

To finish off the card I have stamped the sentiment in Gorgeous Grape and fussy cut it up and popped it up on dimensionals and of course you have to have bling so I have coloured some Rhinestone Basic Jewels with the Dark Highland Heather Stampin' Blend as there we don't have a Gorgeous Grape Blend.

Heart of Christmas - 2024 - Week 12

 

Welcome to the Heart of Christmas week 12 already and only 5 more to go for this year as there are only 9 more weeks until Christmas! Excuse me please, where did the year go?!

For my projects today I have channeled my dear friend Tina Gillespie who has not been able to play along with us for Heart of Christmas this year and she always brought us a Sheet Load of Card sketch for us to play along with. So I thought I would have a look at one today and pop out a couple of different versions from the sketch that I found.

So the sketch was from July this year and you can search for it using the #slctjul2024. I started with that which was for a 5x7 card and made it for our size cards here in Australia and added a little bit.  The whole ideas is to get heaps of cards and for this particular design you can get 6 out of the 12x12 sheet of DSP with some left over for other projects.

So CARD No1:

I have started with a Lost Lagoon Base and layered with Crumb Cake piece that I have embossed with the Birch Wood Embossing Folder. The DSP layer is from the Frames and Flowers Specially DSP pack, then I have cut 2 strips of Lost lagoon and 2 strips from the Seasons of Green and Gold Specialty DSP. I then used the Metallics WOW Gold embossing powder to heat emboss the Merry Christmas and then cut it out with a Stylish shapes Dies. I layers that on one of the Frames from the Frames and Flowers DSP pack popped it up on dimensionals added some Iridescent Pearls as you just have to have some bling!

CARD No 2:

Card No. 2 is a lot closer to the original sketch but I have added the birch wood embossed background and the Christmas tree. For the Christmas tree I have stamped the tree from the Peaceful Evergreens in Lost Lagoon then die cut with the Peaceful Evergreen Dies along with the gold foil overlay and the star! Again the sentiment is the same as card one but cut off the bottom and slightly tucked under the bottom strip.
