Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 20 - 2024 - 2025 - Crumb Cake - Changing Leaves

 

Welcome to week 20 of the 2024-25 Colour Creations Blog Hop. Each week on a Wednesday the Art with Heart Team take one of the colours from the Stampin' Up range and challenge themselves to create with making that colour the feature! This week we have a favourite of many and a neutral colour - Crumb Cake!

For my card this week I have used a card sketch and cased her card at Stamps-n-Linger by Mary Dethrage and she has used this sketch by Freshly made sketches

Here is the colour combination I have used for my card.

I know you are saying no fancy fold. Well yes every now and then I need to have a break! I have used the beautiful Changing leaves bundle. It has the stamp set and the Hybrid Embossing Folder and Die and the Changing Leaves Dies as well. It is a fantastic bundle.

I have a Crumb Cake Base and then a layer of Crumb Cake which I have embossed with the Changing Leaves Embossing Folder. Over the top of this gorgeous base I have layered die cut leaves and twigs in Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla along with stamped Moody Mauve and die cut leaves for a pop of colour! The sentiment is stamped is Crumb Cake and is from the Changing Leaves stamp set and I have used the Changing Leave dies to cut it out and layered it on a piece of Country Woods DSP which I also used the Changing Leaves Dies to cut out. I had to have some bling so I used the Neutrals Adhesive Backed Sequins that comes in 4 colours!

This layout and design could be used with any of our other colours to have a "pop" of colour it is such a versatile layout and the wonderful Crumb Cake!

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 43 - Pumpkin Pie

 Welcome to week 43 of the Art With Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop for 2023-24. This week we will be looking at the colour Pumpkin Pie!

For you this week I have created a special background for my card using Pumpkin Pie, Gorgeous Grape and Blackberry Bliss.

For my project today I have used a couple of dies, some blending brushes and the sentiment from the Perennial Postage stamp set! So how did I create my card!

 

I started with a piece of Basic White and then using the blending brushes coloured in differing depths Pumpkin Pie, Blackberry Bliss, and Gorgeous Grape.

 I cut my bended background into 1 cm strips and turned each 2nd strip around and adhered them to a slightly smaller piece of Basic White than the size of a card front.

As you can see the lines are  bit pronounced in between each strip so.....

I took out the Pumpkin Pie blending brush and went over the whole card again trying to make sure the lines were less "white"

To finish the card I used the leaf die from the Artistic Die set in Basic White. Guess what? I actually remembered to use the adhesive sheets this tie before die cutting! Wow! How easy it was to adhere the leaf to the front of my card. I then white heat embossed on Basic Black the sentiment from the Perennial Postage stamp set and used the little label die from Gorgeously Made to cut it out! I popped that on with dimensionals. Everything was then adhered with dimensionals onto a Thick Basic White card Base.

I had so much fun creating this back ground and it looks like a gorgeous sun set! I hope you give it a try with some of your favourite colours!

Colour Creations Blog Hop - 2023-2024 - Week 12 - Berry Burst

 

Welcome to week 12 of the 2023-24 Colour Creations Blog Hop! This week we are getting to play with a returning colour that is now part of our core colours. This week we are looking at Berry Burst!

Berry Burst is a great colour to pair with our pinks and this week I have made 2 fancy folds for you. Ok I had started to make a fancy fold a little while ago in preparation for today then I had to make a card for a friend for her birthday and I made a completely different fancy fold and got so excited about it I shared it to our team forum and you know it was Berry Burst and I could have waited until today to share it on the blog. Well I have taken photos of it and I remade it to share it here anyway. You know being part of this team you just love sharing with each other.

So this is card number 1. I have used the gorgeous Masterfully Made DSP on a card base of Berry Bust as this DSP has lots of gorgeous Berry Burst in it along with the Bubble Bath as you can see. Then I paired it with the Timeless Arrangements bundle. So on the front I took my colours from the paper.

OK I hear you saying "still doesn't look like a fancy fold card Sharon" Let me open it up for you and show you all the magic!

On the inside of the card you have 2 sections that pop up and open out! Before I added these 2 sections I added 2 pieces of Basic White card and stamped in Berry Burst the little broken circles that I in the opposite corners. Then came the hinges and the pop ups!

On the 2 internal card that I have used the Masterfully Made Berry Burst DSP I have stamped and die cut out the foliage and flowers from the Timeless Arrangements Bundle and used my blends to colour them in with Lost Lagoon, Crumb Cake and Berry Burst!

This card is a thank you card so I have used the sayings from the Timeless Arrangements Stamp set to create the flow on from the front to the last pop up.

You can write your greeting on the inside underneath the pop ups or you can add another piece of Basic White to the back of the card to write to the person you are giving this unique and special Thank you card to. Plus this card fits into our C6 envelopes.

Card Number 2: I made for my friends 60th Birthday and I used all the same colours as card Number 1 but added Gold Foil. As I had already shown this card on the team forum and I had given it away I needed to recreate it for our fantastic team day that we had on the weekend. This time I used Rose Gold Foil Specialty Paper.

This card is a double bridge fold card with columns on the side! This time I used the Gorgeously Made Stamp set and Dies! Plus the Alphabet al a mode dies to cut out the 60!

For all the panels I have cut them sequentially with in the sizes along the Masterfully Made DSP so that that pattern follows all the way around the card. You can do that with any DSP you choose but I really love this piece in particular how the pattern works so well!

Start adhering the panels to the 2 bridge folds!

And the 2 side columns then adhere the 2 bridge folds together then adhere the 2 columns to either end.

For the front focal piece is a diamond that I cut from a piece of card stock just starting with a piece 5x7 inches and finding the middle on all four sides and cutting along the diagonal. That was for the Berry Burst layer and then made the next layers a few a quarter of an inch smaller.

On the Basic White layer I have stamped in Basic Gray and Lost Lagoon some elements from the Gorgeously made stamp set then cut out the 2 leaves in Lost Lagoon and Bubble Bath to adhere to the front with a double bow of twine! I have stamped Happy Birthday in Basic Gray and there is a great little label die in the die set as well.

On the back of the Birthday card I stamped this greeting for my friend from the Courage & Faith stamp set but on the recreated one I stamped the leaf in lost lagoon.

Both these card were super fun to make and I do hope you have enjoyed having a look at them today.

Colour Creations Blog Hop - 2023-2024 - Week 9 - Pecan Pie Pop Up Flower Card

 

Hello there and welcome to Week 9 of our 2023-24 Colour Creations Blog Hop and this week we have a new colour to add to our core  colours in the refresh and it is Pecan Pie. 

Now I lived in the US for 10 years and this was a staple of the pies to eat whenever you went to someone's place to have a meal or out to eat at a cafe. So Delicious! So I needed to make a card that was full of deliciousness. Of course I made a fancy fold!

All will be revealed!

Here is my colour combination for this project, not as many as last week.

I saw this card made by a UK crafter Sam Calcott about 5 years or so ago so I thought well I should give it a go. I was away with friends and watched a video of how to do it with no sound, to say that made it a lot more difficult to create would be a little bit of an understatement. The first attempt didn't work but the second did. I think I should get used to having those ear bud things in my ears but I don't like them! LOL!

So on the inside of the card when you untie the gorgeous Pecan Pie Bordered Ribbon which is so super soft and just beautiful to tie you have a garden path and steps full of lattice and flowers!

This side on view shows the steps so much better!

So as on the front of the card I have continued down the centre of the steps the Glorious Gingham DSP in Pecan Pie. Along the edges of the steps and like the edges of the path I have used strips of Pecan Pie card stock.

The flowers on the outside and the inside are from the Petal Park stamp set and I have stamped them in Sweet Sorbet, Crushed Curry and Old Olive and I used the Blender pen to draw out some of the ink from the centre to add a little colour. The Sentiments are stamped in Pecan Pie from the Nature's Prints stamp set (keeping it all in the one theme here) and then die cut out with the Nested Essential dies!

Of course you need a place to write your message so I have added some Basic White card to the back of the card and another little Sweet Sorbet flower!
