I am very excited as it is the time of year for the Heart of Christmas Blog hop. Each week on a Monday for the next 24 weeks, finishing on December 13th, the Art With Heart Team will bring you inspiration that is all things Christmas!
For our blog hops I will have the privilege to host along with Tina Gillespie and Rachel Woollard. For you that means when you hit on the "onto the next Art With Heart Team blog" button and the link is broken you can go to the hosts blog and there you will find the list of participants so you can click on their name and continue on with your blog hop. This week I am hosting so the list will be at the bottom of my post just in case there are any technical difficulties! We look forward to bringing you our creativity and love of Stampin' Up! Christmas products.
Well today for our first Heart of Christmas blog hop I have a fancy fold for you. I know, I know, I just couldn't start such a special blog hop series without a fun and fancy fold for you! I have chosen to use the Poinsettia Petals stamp set and dies that carried over into the annual catalogue.
I know you are looking at this card and saying that doesn't look like a fancy fold card Sharon what are you talking about. You have been in lockdown way too many times and have lost your mind. Well I may have lost my mind but this card is magic! It looks like an ordinary card but open it up and.................
Here is a video of the card opening so you can see how magic it is!
I know I told you it was magic!
I found this card by Sam Calcott in the UK but I changed the measurements to make the card fit into our envelopes rather than be as large as she had made hers.
So what did I do to all the elements. I used Versamark and gold emboss powder to stamp all the poinsettias and leaf elements and used the Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler and Light and Dark Old Olive Stampin' Blends to colour each card once I had heat embossed them.
The back of the card I have placed a decorated page where you can write your message to the person you are giving this Christmas card.
On the front of the card I have stamped the other poinsettia in the stamp set in Versamark and heat embossed in gold and cut out all 3 layers and placed a dimensional between each layer. The other elements are also heat embossed in gold and I have used the Gold Shimmer ribbon to finish of the card.
This was a fun card to make and now that I have worked out the dimensions I think I will make a few more. If you have any questions on how to make this card or you would like to get your hands on the new mini that is coming out in August with lots of fun new Christmas stamps and papers just let me know and I am happy to help.
Now is the time to head on to the next team member participating and I always love seeing what Theresa Gerrard has for us so just click on the button and you will go straight to her blog.
