AWHT Creative Show Case - March 2020 - Monochromatic Cards

This month the Art With Heart Team are featuring Monochromatic cards, that is cards that only use different shades of the same colour. This is a great opportunity for us to demonstrate the wonderful range of Stampin’ Up! colours across our inks, papers and embellishments that can be combined to produce the amazing monochromatic samples we have to share with you.

I have just one card for you tonight.n I had this running around in my head for a few days and finally got a chance to sit and put it all together.
First Frost, Monochromatic Cards, Friendship Cards, Stampin' Up, Rhapsodyincraft, Frosted Bouquet, Basket Weave 3D Folder, Art With Heart Creative Showcase

I have used the First Frost stamp set which I just love not only for Christmas but for everyday cards. I thought the gorgeous Real Red would be the perfect colour to brighten everyone's spirits. So I stamped the small flower 3 times and as it is a distinctive stamp you get the gorgeous shades and details of the flower. I have used the dies that go with the stamp set Frosted Bouquet to cut out the flowers and to also cut out in white some branch sprigs and some leaves in vellum.

I have layered these gorgeous flowers over the basket weave 3D embossing folder and the gorgeous From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper from the mini catalogue. It is just gorgeous! I cut the circle out with the Layering circle dies before putting the whisper white card stock through the embossing machine with the basket weave 3D folder.

I think at this time in the world sending a friend a card is just a wonderful thing to do to stay connected so that is why I used the Well Written framelits to add the word Friend and the little bird as well comes with those framelits.

I hope you like this card and will try it. I think I will make a few more and send them out to some of my friends.

The next demonstrator to share her monochromatic project is the amazingly talented Vicki Boucher

Stampin' Up - Art With Heart Team Blog Hop February 2020- Masculine Themed Cards

Welcome to another Creative Showcase with the Art With Heart Team.

This month we are featuring Masculine themes projects. We have many masculine themed products in the Stampin' Up! range including stamp sets and coordinating dies, designer series papers, embellishments and embossing folders. Art with Hear team have a wonderful selection of projects to inspire you to create Masculine Masterpieces.

Tonight I have 3 cards for you. I have had a wood theme going through my head for some reason so this is what I have come up with.

Ok the first card is not wood related but it is a dirt bike and you can ride that through the trees and forest, so you will just have to use your imagination and join me in my fantasy land.

Pedal to the Metal, Male Cards, Birthday Card, Stone 3D, Motorbike, Rhapsody in craft, Stampin' Up, #loveitchopit

For this first card I have used Pedal to the Metal. What a fun stamp set this is. To be quite frank if I coloured the bike purple and removed the sentiment To a great Guy my niece would love this as she rides dirt bikes!

Pedal to the Metal, Birthday Card, Male Cards, Masculine cards, Stampin' Up!, Rhapsody in craft, Stone 3D, Motorbike, #loveitchopit

I have used the gorgeous crumb cake as it is one of our all time favourite colours for card bases and used the stitched nested labels dies for different details under the bike. But if you look closely I have also used the Stone 3D Embossing folder that is part of the Power of Hope bundle in the Sale-a-bration brochure.

For the tire marks behind the bike I have used crumb cake but I have stamped off once before stamping on the dark lines and then stamped again for the light lines. Then I stamped the bike in soft suede before colouring in with the Stampin' Blends. The hessian DSP is from the Pressed Petal Specialty DPS and the script DSP is from the Neutrals 6x6 pack. I have die cut out Birthday Wishes from the Well Written Dies in Champagne Foil card stock. The added bling is from the Peaceful Poppies sequins.

By the dock, Stampin' Up!, Male Cards, Thank you, Masculine Cards, Press Petal DSP, Rhapsody in craft, #loveitchoopit

My second card is a simple card sticking with the wood theme. I have used the DSP from the Pressed Petal DSP that is woodgrain and the hessian again and have cut 1 inch or 2.5 cm strips and adhered them to a piece of very vanilla card stock on the diagonal. I just trimmed the excess and mounted it on to a layer of champagne foil card stock as men deserve some bling in their life too. I added the  braided burlap trim and then let it sit for a few days before I thought about what sentiment to put on the card. I think thank you cards for making a difference is a great sentiment so I just love this stamp set By the Dock.

By the Dock, Pressed Petal DSP, Thank You, Male Cards, Masculine Cards, Stampin' Up!, Rhapsody in craft, #loveitchopit

I have stamped the sentiment on very vanilla and cut it out with the stitched nested labels dies and cut another in mossy meadow to match the base card and one more in champagne foil add a bit of depth and interest to this simple card. I also used some metallic pearls to add a little more bling.

Rooted in Nature, Male Cards, Masculine Cards, Thank you cards, Thank You, Stampin' Up!, Rhapsodyincraft

Sticking with my wood theme I used Rooted in Nature for my third card. I have stayed with crumb cake as our favourite card base and but this time I have added a layer of the the cut tree stump. To make this back ground I have inked the stump in soft suede and then before it dried I have clear heat embossed to add a little bit of sparkle to the stumps.

Rooted in Nature, Masculine cards, Male Cards, Thank you Cards, Thank you, Stampin' Up!, Rhapsodyincraft

I have used the braided burlap twine again across the bottom and the braided linen thread. It might remind some older gentlemen of the little braids that they had in the back of their hair/mullets back in the 1980's. Ok I digress! hehe!

I stamped the tree which is just divine being a distinctive stamp and cut it out with the Nature's Roots dies. I love not having to fussy cut, how about you? I stamped the leaves in blackberry bliss once for the dark and then again for the lighter and the same in mossy meadow for the green. I die cut the champagne foil leaves out before putting them back through with the impression die to get the veins.  The little bit of green thread that you can see along with the braided linen thread is from the country club twine pack. I have stamped the 2 line sentiments from Rooted in Nature for the front of this card but have cut one up to add to the front of the tree. I kind of like doing this occasionally.

Ok so there are my three cards and I thought that would be enough but then today I thought sure I have enough time to just pull out another card. Well you will be happy to know it has nothing to do with the  wood grain theme.

Best Catch, Male Cards, Masculine cards, Stampin' Up!. Rhapsodyincraft, #loveitchopit

I love this stamp set. I got it because my Dad loves to fish. So does my Brother but when my Mum and Dad go fishing my Mum catches all the fish. If Dad goes on his own he doesn't catch anything. My Mum is awesome let's face it!

So this is an origami framed window card and I found this on Cindy Brumbaugh blog to find out how to fold the little window. I thought it would work perfectly for this cute fish.

Best Catch, Male Cards, Masculine cards, Fishing, Stampin' Up!, Rhapsodyincraft, #loveitchopit

I have again used the Neutrals 6x6 DSP and cut it into a 4x4 piece to fold and for the bull rushes I have die cut them out of mossy meadow card stock and Lily Impressions DSP from the Sale-a-bration brochure. I have stamped the sentiment on Merry Merlot and punched it out with the Label me fancy punch.

Best Catch, male cards, masculine cards, Stampin' Up!, Rhapsodyincraft, #loveitchopit

The fish is coloured in a combination of dark old olive, dark soft sea foam, dark granny apple green and light calypso coral Stampin' Blends. It has been a long time since I have been fishing but I think they look a little like that.  I have also stamped the fisherman and die cut him out and decided not to put him on the front so put him on the inside to decorate the inside of the card.

Please now head on over to the next demonstrator to share their Masculine project with you , my friend the very talented Tina Gillespie

There are so many good products in the Sale-a-bration brochure and how about that signing bonus!

Tonight I have made 5 cards for you. I had made 3 then just kept going I was having so much fun making cards. It has been a particularly tough week with the death of my cousin and then my niece lost her baby so I just needed to make some cards.

The  first card I used a masking technique. I am using the Happy Birthday to you and Sending You thoughts for this card.
Happy Birthday to You, Sending You thoughts, Saleabration, Rhapsody in craft, Stampin' Up, thinking of you, Sympathy

For this card I stamped the Birthday Cake with the flowers onto a post it note so I could cut them out to use as a mask.
I placed the flowers and the base of the cake in place took off the flowers left the cake base in place, inked up the flowers trying to only ink the flowers as much as possible with memento ink and then stamped the flowers. Cleaned the stamp re-positioned the stamp placed the flowers where the stamp was going to be stamped to make sure that the cake base would be in the correct place then placed the flower  post it over the previously stamped image before stamping the  flower image again. I just wanted to make sure I didn't accidentally stamp where I didn't want to. I continued to do this down the whole strip that I wanted to make

Happy Birthday to You, Sending You Thoughts, Saleabration 2020, Sympathy, thinking of you, Stampin' Up, Rhapsody in Craft

I then used my blender pen to pick up some ink from the lid of my ink pads, Petal Pink, Rococo Rose, Old Olive and Night of Navy to colour the panel. I cut out the peek-a-boo panel in Petal Pink and then in Whisper White.

I really liked the pared down simple version of this one but as you can see when I stamped the sentiment on the front when I went to adhere it to the Petal Pink layer I had not waited quite long enough for the ink to dry and I hadn't noticed before I had it in place so I stepped the sentiment up a little.
Happy Birthday to You, Sending you thoughts, Saleabration 2020, Sympathy, Thinking of you, Stampin' Up, Rhapsody in craft

The next 2 cards I made was using the Power of Hope Bundle. I just had to have this set from Sale-a-bration brochure as my daughter and I visited Japan in March last year and we had such a good time.

Power of hope, New beginnings, Saleabration 2020, Stampin' Blends, Stampin' Up, Rhapsody in craft

For this card I have 3 layers and stamped the lanterns in Stazon ink and then used the light and dark Real red Stampin' Blends to colour them in. The middle layer of trees I used soft suede ink, the same colour as the card stock layers in between the whisper white layers but stamped off once to give it a slightly lighter tone.

Power of Hope, New Beginnings, Saleabration 2020, Stampin' Up, Rhapsody in craft, Stampin' blends

For the dress I have used a number of different shades of Stampin' Blends and then blended them with the Petal Pink. I think it worked out quite well. The sentiment from the stamp set I have heat embossed in white.
Power of Hope, Stone 3D embossing folder, Good Luck, Saleabration 2020, Stampin' Blends, Stampin' Up, Rhapsody in craft, Art with heart

For the second card using the Power of hope bundle I used the the Stone 3D embossing folder as part of the layout in my card on the Petal pink cardstock and again I used the Stampin' Blends on the dress.
Power of Hope, Stone 3D Embossing Folder, Good Luck, Saleabration 2020, Golden Honey Specialty DSP, Rhapsody in craft, Stampin' up, Art with heart

I just love the little lantern on the edge of the card and this would be a great card to give to someone starting a new job or going off to a new year at school. The designer series paper is Also from the Sale-a-bration brochure and has a gorgeous gold foil thread through it to add a little bling and extra something special to the card. It is called the Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper.

My next 2 cards I have used the sentiments from the Peaceful Moments stamp set in the New Mini catalogue and the Peaceful Poppies suite in combination with some of the Sale-a-bration products.

Peaceful Moments, Painted Label dies, Parisian Blossoms, Sympathy, Stone 3D embossing Folder, Lilly Impressions DSP, Stampin ' Blends, Saleabration 2020, Stampin' Up, Rhapsody in craft, Art with heart

For this card I first used the painted labels dies from Mini catalogue to cut out the swirls circle and then stamped the sentiment from the Peaceful moment in the middle in Saddle Brown stazon. On the layer of Whisper white card that I had cut out the swirl circle I then put it through the smbossing machine with the Stone 3D folder from the Power of Hope bundle from the Sale-a-bration brochure. The green that you can see behind is also gorgeous DSP from the Sale-a-bration brochure - Lily impressions DSP.

Peaceful moments, Painted Label Dies, Parisian Blossoms, Stone 3D Embossing Folder, sympathy, Saleabration 2020, Stampin' Blends, Stampin' Up, Rhapsody in craft, Art with heart

I have then put the sentiment back over the circle that I created earlier to let the green show through. I then used the beautiful cherry blossom flowers from the Parisian Blossom suite and dies to add a soft touch to the card. I stamped these also in saddle brown stazon before cutting them out with the dies and colouring them with the Stampin blends. To add a little bling I have used the champagne rhinestones in the centre of each blossom.

For my last card tonight I have used the beautiful Lily Impressions Designer series Paper for the star of this card.
Floral Essence, Peaceful Moments, Lilly Impressions DSP, Sympathy cards, Stampin' Blends, Saleabration 2020, Stampin' Up, rhapsody in craft, Art with heart

One of my favourite colours is Blackberry bliss so I wanted to use this colour for one of my cards to send to a friend who has just lost her husband and who also loves gardening so I thought the flower would work for this card as well. The DSP is just beautiful and bother the layers are part of this gorgeous paper and I have offset it with gold foil before the sentiment from the Peaceful moments and cutting it out with the painted labels die. Underneath that I have used rose metalic thread.  The flower is stamped in memento in and punched out using the perennial flower punch and coloured in with Blackberry bliss Stampin' Blends and topped off with perennial essence floral centers.

I hope you have liked these variety of cards that you can make from the offering Sale-a-bration products.

Stampin' Up! - Heart of Christmas 2019 - Week 16

Christmas Card, Toile Christmas, Toile tidings, Double dutch card, fun fold, fancy fold, #loveitchopit, Rhapsodyincraft, Stampin' Up, Heart of Christmas, 2019 Holiday Catalogue

Well after 16 weeks of The Heart of Christmas for 2019 we are on our last week. I can't believe it. I normally try and do a fancy or fun fold at least once and I hadn't gotten to it this year so I did it on the very last one.

I made for you a double dutch door card but a standing up one. I made a double dutch card a couple o years ago and you can check it out by clicking here.

I was kind of in a brain fog when making this card and started out making it with a 12x12 piece of card stock

Then realise this is not going to fit in an C6 envelope silly! I had a really bad migraine as I was trying to make my card and my brain was not working at all but I had challenged myself this year to put a card in every week for the Heart of Christmas so I was not going to miss a week.

Christmas Card, Toile Christmas, Toile Tidings, 2019 Holiday catalogue, Rhapsodyincraft, #loveitchopit, Stampin' Up, Christmas card, double dutch card, fun fold, fancy fold

As you can see the card is quite a bit smaller when you do it correctly to fit into an envelope! Sheesh!

Christmas Card, Toile Christmas, Toile Tidings, Double Dutch Card, 2019 Holiday catalogue, Fancy Fold, Fun Fold, #loveitchopit, Rhapsodyincraft, Stampin' Up

I went back to the gorgeous Toile Christmas set for this card as I have just loved colouring this cardinal and as all my friends in the US are having lots of snow falling right now and we are going through a cold snap here in the south part of Australia I thought it was appropriate.

The idea of the standing dutch fold card is that you can lean the flap  on the 2 dutch doors so you can put your card on the mantle or buffet to display it. I kind of like that idea. Here is a side view so you can get my meaning.

Christmas Card, Double Dutch Card, Toile Christmas, 2019 Holiday catalogue, Stampin' Up, Toile Tidings, Rhapsody in craft, #loveitchopit, Christmas card

I have until recently only seen double dutch fold cards landscape not portrait so they were always laying down.

I also stamped the verse on the inside but as you can see there is plenty of room to write.

You don't have to decorate both the outside and inside of the dutch doors but I like to do both.

Christmas Card, Toil Tidings, Toil Christmas, Double Dutch Card, 2019 Holiday catalogue,Fun Fold, Fancy Fold, #loveitchopit, Rhapsodyincraft, Stampin' Up

When all folded it fits perfectly into our C6 envelopes ready for posting or giving to your favourite person for Christmas.

For a list of the products I used see below.

Please grab a cuppa and head over to the lovely Judy May's blog who is hosting our hop tonight for the list of ladies participating for some more Christmas inspiration.

Now what did I use: I have a Basic Grey card base, Garden Green Layers and leaves, Toile Tidings DSP, Very Vanilla Card to stamp on and to cut out the Stitched Nested Lables Die. Soft suede card for the leaves, Vellum card stock also for the leave. I have also use the Toile Tiding glitter enamel dots and double stitched garden green ribbon. I stamped the Cardinal from the Toile Christmas Stamp set in soft suede ink and then used Real Red dark and light and Soft sued dark and light stampin' Blends to colour him in. Everything was cut out using the Christmas cardinal dies.

If you would like any more information about how to make this card or fun and fancy fold please do not hesitate to contact me. Or if you would like to order some products to make your Christmas cards.

Thank you for spending some time with me today,

Stampin' Up! - Art With Heart Team Blog Hop November 2019 - Boxes and Gift Bags

The Art With Heart Team are back with another inspirational Blog Hop. This month we are featuring Gift Bags and Boxes, just in time for the Christmas gift giving season. The bags and boxes featured are all made using current Stampin’ Up! products and any of our wonderful team members are happy to help you with the supplies you will need to reproduce these beautiful projects.

Well I have been rather busy this past week with my working on helping my son push through getting his Cert IV in Disability and finish his assignments and placement.  Having autism he wanted to make sure that people like his sister and himself don't continue to fall through the cracks like they both have. I am very proud of him for taking this step. So while I have been sitting up with him and proof reading his work and giving moral support I have been working on gift bags and boxes to show you.

Last Saturday I had the break up lunch for my church fellowship that I run for the ladies and I got the idea from Ronda Wade of the blessing boxes. So I made 24 of them.

Let it snow, mini pizza boxes, 2019 Holiday Catalogue, #loveitchopit, Rhapsody in craft, Stampin' Up, Christmas gift giving

The mini pizza boxes that Stampin' Up have are just perfect for these blessing boxes and I think they were perfect for my church ladies.

On the outside I have layered Real Red card stock 3 1/4 x 3 1/4  inch square with a DSP layer of Let it Snow is 3x3 inches.  The coastal cabana circle is cut out using the layering circle dies and I have embossed the silver foil ornament with the Stylish scrolls 3D embossing folder.

The small ornament is red glimmer paper and is so sparkly! Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon knotted and adhered with a mini glue dot. You can see the little lines of Coastal Cabana between the Real Red lines on the Let is Snow DSP so that is why the circle is coastal cabana.

On the inside of the mini pizza boxes although they are food safe I have decorated the inside for this purpose with a stamp and a print out of some Scripture verses. The Stamp set I chose for the inside was Light and Peace and I stamped it in Memento ink and cut it out using the layering circle dies and my die cutting machine.

Once I had them all decorate I folded them up and filled them with lollies for the ladies.

I had so much fun doing these I decided to make a gold one with the Christmastime is here bundle as Stampin' Up! has Gold Mini Pizza Boxes in the 2019 Holiday Catalogue.

Gold mini pizza boxes, Christmas time is here, Christmas rose, 2019 Holiday Catalogue, Rhapsody in craft, #loveitchopit

I used similar measurements to the other mini pizza boxes but this time I used the Christmas rose stamp to stamp the image in cherry cobbler, old olive and mossy meadow. The sentiment is in Gold Glitz delicata ink and  cut out with the dies that come with the Christmastime is here suite.

Gold mini pizza boxes, Christmastime is here, Christmas, gift boxes, 2019 Holiday Catalogue, #loveitchopit

I was having so much fun with the boxes that Stampin' Up! has that I thought I would decorate one of the Baker's Boxes that they have in preparation for  my online purchase of decorative rolling pins that I had bought to make Christmas biscuits/cookies!

Baker's Box, Let it snow, 2019 Holiday Catalogue, Christmas, Baking, Stampin' Up!, #loveitchopit

I went back to my first lot of colouring and DSP of Let it Snow as who doesn't like real red and coastal cabana?

Baker's Box, Let it snow, 2019 Holiday Catalogue, Rhapsody in craft, Stampin' Up, #loveitchopit

I think these boxes are going to look so cute when I get these biscuits made. I am so glad that my rolling pins arrived today so I could take a photo for you so you could see what I was talking about. These Baker's Boxes are so cool and are food safe so make sure you get some for your Christmas baking gifts! Yum!

Ok so there has been so much assignment writing I had time to make one more thing.

Pressed Petals, Gift Bag, Origami, Rhapsody in craft, Stampin' Up!, #loveitchopit

I found this origami gift bag fold online and thought you know that would work so well with the thinner DSP like our Pressed Petal that we have so here you go. My daughter loves Japan and loves origami so when I saw this little gift bag I thought it was just gorgeous and on the sight paperkawii.com is where you can go to find the instructions to fold this bag.

Pressed Petals, Gift Bags, Origami, Rhapsodyincraft, Stampin' Up

I just love the fan like fold on the top of the  bag.

To make the bag you use a A4 size piece of paper or 21 cm x 29.5 cm

This is the bottom of the bag and I have used tombow glue to adhere the bag together.

The Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon is  a lovely touch to finish off this gift bag and all you need with such gorgeous paper from Stampin' Up!.

Hope you have enjoyed my projects tonight and if you would like any information about these products please don't hesitate to contact me.

Now it is time to go to our next hop so grab a cuppa and continue on in the Blog Hop with the very talented Rebecca Jacovou.
