Welcome to my happy place.

Hi,

Welcome to my blog. Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope that you will find some inspiration for your projects as I have from many lovely people. This is just a little space for me to share some of my cards, scrap book pages and maybe even some of my embroidery and quilting projects.

Enjoy and stop back often.

Stampin' Up - Art With Heart Team Blog Hop January 2019 - Occasions Catalogue

Tonight, the Art with Heart team are sharing creative projects using product from the occasions catalogue. The occasions catalogue is current now until June 3rd. Be sure to request your copy of the catalogue today (along with the sale-a-bration brochure).
Did you know that sale-a-bration is also a great time to join our fabulous team. Ask anyone on the blog hop if you’d like more details.

I was very excited when I saw this suite in the Occasions catalobue as I not only love to stamp and do paper crafts but I also love to sew. I have used the Needlepoint Nook Suite.

Needlepoint Nook, Needle and Thread, Needlepoint Elements Framelits, Rhapsody in craft, Art with Heart

I have used the colours of the Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper as my guide for the colour combination for both cards. I was having a bit of a play with this set as we were doing a card swap as a team and these are the 2 cards that I came up with.

My first card tonight is the one on the right.
Needlpoint nook , needle and thread, needlepoint elements framelits, rhapsody in craft, art with heart

I have used the colours Berry Burst, Flirty Flamingo, Mossy Meadow, Balmy blue.  To make the little squares I have stamped the flowers in the different colours and then stamped the flower on a  separate piece of paper and cut it out as a mask to place over the flower so that I could stamp the little leaves. I then used the stitched shaped framelits to cut out all the squares. On the Whisper white layer I have used one of the embossing framelits that come in the needlepoint elements which is just so pretty. I popped them all up on dimensionals. I used the memento ink for the sentiment and then put it thought the big shot to add the stitching and punched it out with with the pretty label punch and offset it with the gorgeous balmy blue.

For my second card I went all out and this is the card I used for my swap. I went hunting for a card sketch to use for this one just to give me an idea on design. I found a great one on dawnstampinthoughts for the layout.
I love giving myself the challenge of sketches to see what I can come up with.

Needlepoint nook, needle and thread, needlpoint elements framelits, rhapsody in craft, art with heart

The colours in this card are again take from the gorgeous Needlepoint Nook DSP. Night of Navy, Balmy Blue, Highland Heather, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Petal Pink and Whisper white.

Using the gorgeous DSP as your colours guide make it so easy to know what colours go together.
Again with this card I have used the embossing framelit in the needlepoint elements framelit dies then cut it out with the layering ovals dies and backed it with some highland heather. The sentiment has been inked up with Night of navy then put through the big shot with the stitched shaped framellits.

The flowers are soft and subtle in powder pink and backed with mossy meadow and old olive leaves were all cut out with the needlepoint framelits and then layered together over the gorgeous DSP. Don't you just love this paper?

Don't forget to decorate the inside of your card it can be as simple as putting a little sentiment and a flower.

Now it’s time to hop on over to our next participant, the very talented, Kimberley Hern.

Thank you for spending some time with me today and if you want to try your hand at some cards using this great suite don't hesitate to contact me

Take Care

Thanks for taking part in the Occasions Catalogue blog hop. Two very lovely needlepoint nook cards but the swap card has to be my favourite. So much work has gone into it.

Your cards are fantastic! The colours are so pretty, and definitely make me think of the embroidery that my nan used to do. Too hard to pick a favourite tonight, they are both so nice.

I love both cards too, but I have to mention how I appreciated you using the sketch to stretch yourself. I sometimes find it a very useful tool too.
