Heart of Christmas - 2022- Week 7

Welcome to week 7 of out Heart of Christmas Blog hop for 2022. We are coming to you each Monday until the end of November to help you get ready with all your Christmas cards, tags and packaging.

 This week I have a simple colour palette for our card today. Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Pear Pizzazz and Mossy Meadow. Very classic Christmas Red and Green Colours.

So for my card this week I chosen to use the Leaves of Holly Bundle from the June-December mini.  I wanted a card that didn't take too long to make.

I took a piece of Very Vanilla and first stamped the more solid holly leaf in Pear Pizzazz and I stepped down the card with my Stamparatus. I didn't care that it was stamping over the other leaf as we were putting the sentiment focal piece over the top anyway. After doing the 5 Pear Pizzazz I went over the top with the vein leaf in Mossy Meadow and then attached that to my Crumb Cake card case.

I stamped the berries in Cherry Cobbler and cut them out using the Holly Berry dies and attached them to the card.

For the sentiment focal point I have used the Holly Berry Dies and cut out the label and leaf dies in Mossy Meadow and the smaller of the 2 leaves in Mossy Meadow and the solid part of the leaf in Pear Pizzazz. The Sentiment is stamped in Mossy Meadow on Very Vanilla and cut out using the smaller label die and popped on dimensionals.

I couldn't keep away from the bling so I added a little Real Red Glimmer Paper die cut overlay to the berries and to finish off with a double bakers twine bow.

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 15 - Crumb Cake

 

Welcome to week 15 of the colour creations blog hop for 2022-23. This week we are looking at the neutral colour of Crumb Cake.

This week I have cased a card design from Ronda Wade. It is a simple layout but as I am needing a few simple cards for the next few weeks I hope you don't mind. I will get back to the fancy folds and back to regular scheduled programming after the daughter has turned 21 and I have dealt with all those shenanigans in a months time. Let the preparations begin!

So the card is a simple lay out and I finally took out my Wisteria Wishes stamp set which I absolutely love but hadn't cracked it open yet. I know what was I thinking. I need to use it more!

The card base is Crumb Cake and then I have another layer of Crumb Cake Card. What I have done is taken one of the Petal Pink 6x6 pieces of Tea Boutique DSP and cut it down to fit the front piece and the bit left over trimmed it down after turning it on it's side to fit behind the front and adhered it to the card base.

Before adhering the piece of Tea Boutique DSP to the front of the card I stamped the stems in Early Espresso, I did this on my Stamparatus so I could stamp and then hinge down 2 steps and stamped the next lot of stems. I then did the same with the more solid flower stamp and I did that in Crumb Cake ink first and over the top of the Crumb Cake I stamped Cherry Cobbler a in the speckle flower stamp.

The sentiment is stamped in Crumb Cake. I then adhered that to the crumb cake layer and wrapped around some crumb cake bakers twine and popped it on the front of the card with dimensionals. Of course I had to have bling and added some Petal Pink Elegant Faceted Gems. Quick and Easy two step stamping made easy with the Stamparatus and beautiful DSP!

Heart of Christmas - Week 6 - Peace to You!

Welcome to week 6 of the Heart of Christmas blog hop. This week I have decided to case a card from the Jun-Dec 2022 Mini Catalogue! Did you know that all those great photos of cards are fantastic ideas that you can reproduce yourself!

This is the version in the Jun-Dec Mini,  and here is my version.

So how did I make my version? I started with a Crumb Card Base and then in my version I used the Stitched Rectangle dies to cut out a layer of Basic White card. I then used some of the new masking paper and cut it into thin strips and put it on the basic white card to create a rectangle so I could blend inside and have crisp lines.

Before taking off the masking paper I flicked a little wink of Stella over the blended middle. I have used Pool Party to blend my centre but in the sample in the catalogue they have used Balmy Blue.

On another piece of Basic White card I stamped the Nativity scene in Night of Navy and coloured it with the  Stampin blends of Light and Dark Pool Party, Light and Dark Sweet Sorbet, Light and Dark Crumb Cake and Bronze. Then I fussy cut out the image. I also added a little bit of wink of Stella to the star.

In the catalogue they used the Open Leaf Trinkets but I had used all of mines so time to reorder another lot. So what could I do. I thought one of the leaf dies from the Splendid Stem dies looks a little bit like the trinket So I cut one out in copper foil. I cut it apart and then the little but that I had cut off I used on the right side.

Now for the sentiment I have stamped it in Night of Navy onto the Sweet Sorbet card and then cut out with the Stitched Rectangle dies. I have shortened this sentiment like I did my sentiment on Wednesday. Run it through then put the end in and just hit the end in your die cut machine so that you shorten the length of your sentiment. In the example in the catalogue the car is Cherry Cobbler as is the colouring with the Stampin' Blends.

Pop the sentiment up on dimensionals on your card over the leaf.

Of course you need to add some bling and I have used some Basic Rhinestone Jewels compared to the catalogue version of Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels which I didn't have. So I stepped my version up by using the stitched rectangles and I also added the use of the Splendid Stems dies but I think it came out pretty close to the one in the catalogue. So don't forget to give the examples in the catalogue a go!

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 14 - Coastal Cabana

 

Welcome to the Colour Creations Blog Hop for week 14 of 2022-23, this week we are looking at Coastal Cabana. It is a colour I quite like and glad that it is one of our regular colours.

I have a simple stamping and colour card for you today but I couldn't help using the Stylish Shapes Dies for the sentiment but you could just stamp the sentiment straight on the card if you don't own the dies of a Cut & Emboss machine yet!

So for this simple stamping and colouring card I have used a Thick Basic White card base and layered it with Coastal Cabana card stock which is one of the colours from Stampin' Ups Brights Collection. On the focal point of the of the card I have a piece of Basic White and I have taken the super soft blending brush and with some Coastal Cabana ink blend a little section of ink.

Over the top of the blended section I have stamped the flower from the Happy Hedgehogs as it is just simple and divine and I did this in Memento Black in and then took out the light and Dark Mellon Mambo, Dark Daffodil Delight and Dark Soft Sea Foam to colour the image over the Coastal Cabana background.

I like these new Stylish Shapes Dies so much so I couldn't resist but if you are new to stamping you can stamp the sentiment straight on to the card and you would have a lovely card. To step the card up I have used the dies and it was a bit long so I ran it through the Cut & Emboss machine once and then put the die on again just at the end and ran it through so that we just hit the end. I also used the blending brush over the sentiment with whatever ink was left on the brush to take away the white a little.

As I was trying to go for a simple quick stamping card I told myself to step away from the bling but if you are like me and want to add bling you could also do that. I am sure this simple design could be made in lots of colours it is such a sweet stamp!

Heart of Christmas - 2022 - Week 5

Welcome to week 5 of the Heart of Christmas. This week I have a Boughs of Holly card for you that with a brush metallic card stock and your Cut & Emboss folder you are good to go!

So for my card today, I have used an Evening Evergreen card base and with the Brushed Metallic Cardstock in gold I have layered that under the Boughs of Holly DSP.

I decided I wanted to make a wreath so I took out the Holly outline dies from the Holly Berry Dies and cut them out in the Gold Brushed Metallic Cardstock and just adhered them with a little liquid glue on the stem end so they sat up a bit.

Under each holly leaf I cut out a copper brushed metallic cardstock pine needles. Here you can see I used a strip of the gorgeous Boughs of Holly DSP on the inside of my card to decorate.

In the centre of the card I have adhered the sentiment Peace & Joy that I have heat embossed in gold and fussy cut and tagged out with my papersnips. I put a double mini dimenional under them to give them a bit of height because of the holly leaves. Under the sentiment I have frayed some Shimmer Ribbon and of course we need a little bling so a little red and gold pearls from the Red and Green adhesive-backed pearls to finish off the card.
