Hocker Docker Helicopter, A Possum and an Award

Hope that you are all doing well and thanks for stopping by for the next Sunshine’s Stamps installment. Check out the latest stamps on offer at Sunshine’s Store they are lots of fun.

My Daughter is having a birthday in 4 weeks so I thought I had better get started thinking about what we are going to do. So I thought this week I would uses one of Sunshine’s stamps for the invitation for her birthday party. This is what I came up with:

I have used Sunshine’s Hocker Docker Helicopter stamp and coloured it using Stampin’ Up Stampin’Write Markers. The colours I used are Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Blush Blossom, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip and Going Grey. The Card Stock is Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink and Whisper white with Sweet Always Designer Series Paper. I also hung the sentiment using eyelets and raffia. Hope you like it.

I must tell you about our eventful weekend. We had a possum stuck in our chimney. He - we call him Ringo as he is a ringtail possum, had fallen into our chimney earlier that week and had not been able to get back out. We finally got him out about 2:30 a.m. on Saturday morning as you can see from the following photos. He how ever was not too keen on Michael trying to pick him up and put him in a box to get him outside and bit Michael rather forcefully on the thumb. Fortunately I had made Michael put on some gloves so it didn’t break the skin, just left a nice bruise. Well Ringo decided that he wasn’t going to play ball so he went back up into the chimney. Michael rang the Healesville Wildlife Sanctuary Saturday afternoon to ask for any ideas on how to get this poor possum whom is now very hungry out of our chimney. They were very helpful and gave us a couple of clues so we put down a cut up apple and waited in another room to see if he would come down. Well we had success and he finally came down just after 8 p.m. and Michael managed to shut off the chimney this time and then get bitten on his finger but we got Ringo out of the fire place and outside. Now my husband has a very sore hand and Ringo is back outside with his family and is not keeping me awake all night scratching around in my chimney.

I took this photo over the screen in front of the fire.

This one we had the light in front of the fireplace so that we could see exactly where the possum was so that we could get to it. We also had an old sheet down to try and catch him. We used a towel over him in the end but the sheet helped us not have too much mess from the ash in the bottom of the fireplace.

Also this past week I have been given a lovely blog award from my friend Sue whom I met at SBT50, She is just gorgeous.
