Week 3 - Colour Creations Blog Hop - "Basic Gray"

Week 3 of Colour Creations Blog Hop and I am not doing a fancy fold! I know you are all disappointed. 😂 I decided to look at the Garden wishes and Dandy Wishes Dies so that I really hadn't played anywhere enough with and Basic Gray is the perfect Neutral to play host to my flowers.

So for my card today I have also used the host stamp set Natural Textures which is just great and just adds that extra element to your cards.

To start my card off I decided to use Basic Gray as the card base and to use one of the Natural Textures stamps and stamp down the right hand edge of the card in Basic gray. Then I cut 2 layering pieces of card stock in Smoky Slate and Gray Granite and then tore the edges to give that nice rustic look. So now I have my basket with the stamping and my torn paper in the basket for my flowers to sit in.

On the Gray Granite piece I have used the Dandelion stamp and using Mossy Meadow stamped off a couple of times and then onto the card and then in full strength right in the middle. Before adhering to the card base I have used the Gray Granite Baker's Twine from the Essentials Pack to tie around the layers.

My Dandelions are cut out of So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz and Basic White. I have no idea why I took so long to get these dies out they are quite fun. Of course every garden needs a few dragonflies so I had to use the dragonflies punch in all the colours and add the elegant faceted gems for some bling. The sentiment is stamped in Basic Gray and I have used the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch

As I had a couple of dragonflies just trying to fly away I had to pop them on the inside of my card.

Oh Sharon your shabby chic styling and lovely layers are simply beautiful on this card, as is the pop of the yellow flower against the gray.

Fabulous! I love the look of the Natural Textures stamping down the side, and the layering over the stamping looks great. Very rustic indeed.

The yellow flowers are so eye catching, I think I'll need to try putting some of these together too.
