Welcome to week 44 of the 2023-24 Colour Creations Blog hop. This week we are championing the colour Real Red!
This week I have chosen to work with the Easter Lilies Dies. I was talking with a good friend about the Easter Lilies this week and discussing about making an Easter card and I thought well they do come in different colours other than the white ones that we have at Easter. So I looked them up and sure enough I found the Red Tiger Lily so I had to try and make one!

The colour combination I used for the project this week is lots of lush greenery around the beautiful red lilies!

How did I put my card together!

On a card base of Mossy Meadow I stamped in Mossy Meadow with a stamp from the Notes of Nature stamp set!

Then I took a piece of Crumb Cake and embossed it with the Stripes embossing folder from the Stripes and Splatters 3D set. I then cut the card into 1 cm pieces to create a lattice. The vertical struts are popped up on dimensionals and the horizontal are woven through.

For the Tiger Lilies I have used the Easter Lilies dies. I have cute one in Real Red card and on in Petal Pink Card and the stamen in Basic White! Each section of the flower was then coloured with a sponge dauber with extra Real Red ink! As Tiger Lilies have lots of spots which I think they should be called Cheetah lilies because of the spots but it sounds better to be called Tiger I suppose. Anyway they have lots of dots so I splattered them with Early Espresso ink. I did this by flicking ink from a from an Early Espresso Pen. The stamen on the dark flower is coloured in Dark Mossy Meadow blends and the light one in Soft Sea Foam Blend.

I cut many leaves in Mossy Meadow, Old Olive and Soft Sea Foam to surround the Real Red Tiger Lilies which I have attached to the lilies before attaching them to the card front with dimensionals as I had given the flowers dimension by curling the petals.

The sentiment is from the Perennial Postage stamp set and I have stamped it in Early Espresso on Basic White. I have fussy cut it out 3 times to express the meaning of the words!

This card could be used for Mother's Day or for a Daughter or a Special Friend!

Gosh, what a lush card, Sharon! The lilies look divine in dramatic red ... and I love your suggestion that they should be cheetah, not tiger, lilies! Makes much more sense! The lattice background is a lovely detail (and kind of evokes thoughts of pie pastry, which is a good thing).

Wow Sharon, so much to love. The Lattice behind your beautifully coloured lilies and the stamped background.

Sharon, your card is amazing, with so much texture your flowers look real! Yes, they should definitely be called cheetah lilies, LOL!

Love your big bold lilies, Sharon. You have achieved a wonderful fullness to this composition with a fabulous rich colour scheme also.
