Week 14 - Colour Creations Blog Hop - Crushed Curry

Welcome to this week of colour challenge and creativity. Crushed Curry is the colour up in the spotlight for Week 14 of Colour Creations Blog Hop.

Ok I need to confess that it is not my favourite colour as I had to make 1000 crowns in this colour a few years ago and I think the time it took to make that many crowns ......I just run from this colour but it really is a lovely colour for crowns if you ever need one!

Today I have a simple stamping card for you. I have used one of my favourite stamp sets from the Annual catalogue Quiet Meadow.

Rhapsody in craft, Crushed Curry, Quiet Meadow, Quiet Meadow Bundle, Quiet Meadow Dies, Thinking of you, Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder, Blending Brushes, Painted Label Dies, Stampin' Up!, #colourcreationsbloghop

For this card today I have used the blending brushes to blend a panel of Basic White card with Crushed Curry ink getting gradually darker until the bottom being the darkest. I then used the Painted Label Dies and cut out the panel. First one end and not putting the panel all the way through and then the other end also not putting it all the way through the Cut & Emboss machine so that I didn't cut the panel in half. It is a great way of extending your labels. I then used Memento black ink to stamp the flower onto the panel.

I stamped the Thinking of you sentiment on Basic White in Memento ink and used the Quiet meadow Dies to cut it our then using the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder I put it and the layer behind the crushed curry and stamped panel through the Cut & Emboss machine. I popped the sentiment up on some dimensionals and finished the card off with 3 matt black dots. A clean and simple card for you today. I am loving this new Timeworn Type Embossing folder that is in the July-December Mini don't hesitate to get one soon.

If you have any questions about today's project of any of your crafting needs please do not hesitate to contact me.

Now is the time to head to the next blog on our journey in Crushed Curry creativity and Christine Blain is next. I love seeing all the wonderful layers and details that she creates in her gorgeous cards so I can't wait to see what she has for us this week. Last week for Crumb Cake there was so much wonderful texture I looked at her card for a long time. Just hit the next blog button to go straight there.
If for any reason on your way around the blog hop there is a broken link just head to our host Cathy and she will have a list of the participants and you can continue your hop from there. Cathy's Blog

Thank you for spending some crafty time with me today, take care,

Sharon, i totally understand why making 1000 crowns would scar you for life, but you would never know that you struggled with this colour looking at your card. It is simply beautiful!

You didn't want to make just one more crown, for tonight's challenge??!! You have used Crushed Curry beautifully, Sharon, really toning it down by using lots of white. Super-clever use of the die to create the elongated image panel; you had me guessing what you'd used! This is such a pretty card!

Oh! So pretty! The ombre panel looks fantastic - the simple stamping is the perfect addition to really let it shine.

Part of me wished you had stamped a small crown somewhere on this card (sorry!). I love your long created ombre panel.

Beautiful ombré panel Sharon and I agree with you about the EF - this one will have to go in my shopping cart next time.

Oh Sharon, I always giggle when you talk about Crushed Curry LOL. That is a great tip for getting the most out of a smaller die, to extend it and make it bigger. It is now the perfect length for your stamped image, beautiful.

So funny Ros, I did just have a passing thought that I needed a little crown on the flower like it was a butterfly 👑😂

Haha even though you say you are scared for life with Crushed Curry, you have created a lovely soft card. Your blending is just beautiful

We can laugh at that story now Sharon but the thought of making 1000 crowns, sounds very daunting. The Crushed Curry colour graduation is lovely and a great idea to lengthen the die cut to suit your needs. A lovely card.

1000 crowns!!! I wouldn't ever want to see or use Crushed Curry again either Sharon. Your card is lovely and the soft blending is a perfect way to use a colour that is not one of your favourites. It works beautifully with the embossed background.
