Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 4 - 2024-25 - Shy Shamrock

 

Welcome to week 4 of the 2024-25 Colour Creations Blog Hop and this week we are looking at another of the new InColors called Shy Shamrock!

I was quite excited by the name of this colour having married a descendant of an Irish Convict but I found it a little hard to make it the hero of my project this week but I hope you will be ok with what I have created for you. Yes I have gone back to a fancy fold and maybe that was the issue! The fancy fold needed to be the hero!

For my card today I have used the Simply Zinnia bundle and the Zinnia 3D embossing folder that you can purchase as an Online Exclusive.

Ok my friends so I like to challenge myself. This is a card I found on Iced Images and she calls it a Pop Up Step Fold Card. I think I would call it a Pop Up Step Fold Box card. The reason it is a challenge is I was on a zoom call while I was watching the video to work out the measurements so I had the video on silent while I was trying to cut and score. But as you can see it worked out ok! My next trick to get one that fits in our envelope and I nearly got there but ran out of time to decorate so that will have to hold over for another day.

Here is the side on view so you know why I want to call it the Pop Up Step Box card!

I really liked this sentiment with the the Simply Zinnia stamp set so I wanted to make sure this card had lots of flowers as well. I cut the sentiment and the background with the Deckled Rectangle Dies.

For the base of the card I used Shy Shamrock cardstock to make the Pop Up Step Fold Box design and then on a piece of Basic White I used the blending brush with Shy Shamrock ink to blend a little bit of an oval shape in the middle of the card stock.  I then embossed that card with the Zinnia 3D embossing folded and  cut it into all the segments to go on the card but also layering them on a piece of Basic White as I wanted just a bit more white space and stability in the card.

As on the front I have coloured the Zinnias with the Stampin' Blends. I have coloured the stalks and leaves in light and dark Shy Shamrock and a little bit of light Mossy Meadow. The Flowers are light and Dark Petal Pink, Peach Pie and Bubble Bath with a dash of Petunia Pop, Pumpkin Pie and Calypso Coral!

As always you can fold these box cards flat and put them in an envelope or your own hand made box.

Of course I couldn't go without adding the bling to the card so I have used the Shy Shamrock Ribbon and the Classic Matte Dots I have coloured the white ones with my Shy Shamrock Stampin' Blends to add some colour.

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 3 - 2024-25 - Pretty In Pink

 

Welcome to week 3 of Colour Creations Blog Hop for 2024 - 25! This week we are bringing back a lovely pink colour - Pretty In Pink!

I have gone super simple this week! I know you would have thought after all that busy and craziness of the last few weeks I would keep it going with the fancy folds but no this week I am going simple!

We all need a quick card to make and this one is as quick as they come. So quick I made 6! You can make them as a set and give away or keep them for yourself to use when you need a card!

Ok, you are asking "Why, Sharon, why did you make 6?" Well there are 6 sentiments with the Thoughtful Wishes stamp set of course so I just had to. The card design is a quick CASE (copy and share everything) of a 2020 poppy card by Brian King)

My card base is Pretty In Pink card base and then unlike Brian I have a layer of Designer Series Paper. I have used the 4 designs of the InColor 2024-26 DSP and then as I needed another 2 to complete my 6 because of the 6 sentiments I went looking and I found 2 more with the Lilly Pond Lane DSP. 

Here are the 4 InColor designs and the sentiments I used and of course the piece of DSP left over I adhered to the envelope flap so each card has their own envelope.

Here are the 2 Lilly Pond Lane designs that are on the back of the some really cute duck and pond scenes. For the sentiments I have stamped them in Basic Gray and cut them out using either the Deckled Rectangle or Circle Dies.

For the focal point of the card I have stamped the little stamp of 5 flowers over and over again in a row and coloured them using the Stampin' Blends. I have used Light and Dark Pretty In Pink on the flower petals and Light Pretty Peacock and Light Lost Lagoon on the leaves. Then the strip of flowers was layered on a piece of Basic Black and adhered to the center of the card front before adhering the sentiments on dimensionals.

There you have it 6 super quick cards that can be given as a gift set or kept to be used when you need to let someone know you are thinking of them.

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 2 - 2024-25 - Petunia Pop

 

Welcome to week 2 of the 2024-25 Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week we are looking at the second New InColor called Petunia Pop!

If you were playing along last week I was making a 100 boxes for a Mother's day High Tea this coming Saturday, well while I was in the fancy fold mood I decided to make a fancy fold card for our Petunia Pop colour challenge this week. (I have photos of the finished boxes at the end of this post)

For the card base I have used Pebbled Path and when you open the gate fold the inside part of the fold will look like this. Now let's decorate!

I decided to used the gorgeous Thoughtful Journey Suite of products as the Thoughtful Journey DSP is simply gorgeous and has Petunia Pop as one of the colours. Thoughtful Wishes stamp set and dies are also gorgeous so it was calling my name this week.

You may be saying, Sharon I can't really see Petunia Pop on your card apart from the little bit of ribbon and the stamped sentiment. I can see lots of Blackberry Bliss. Guess what my favourite colour goes really well with Petunia Pop don't you think!!!!  I have backed some of the gorgeous Thoughtful Journey DSP on each side of my Gate fold with Blackberry Bliss and the belly band is also Blackberry bliss but WAIT......

Slip off the belly band and open up your card and there you have all of your Petunia Pop for this week.

Each section of the fold is layered in Petunia Pop and then I have followed the design around with the gorgeous Thoughtful Journey DSP.

In the center of the card that pops up I have embossed with the Eyelet 3D embossing folder and using the dies that come in the Thoughtful Wishes bundle I cut out some leaves and flowers in Mossy Meadow, Basic White and Petunia Pop to layer with the Petunia Pop Ribbon under the sentiment from the stamp set that I cut out with a deckled circle die.

On the back of the card I have also added a piece of Basic White so that you can write your greeting to the card recipient.

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 1 - 2024-25 - Peach Pie

 

Welcome to week 1 of the 2024-25 Colour Creations Blog Hop! How exciting it is to be in a brand nee year of Stampin' Up! with a new catalogue and 5 brand new InColors and a new neutral colour. These 6 new colours will be the first 6 weeks of our Colour Creations Blog Hop for this year. I can't wait for you to join me and the some of the amazingly creative  Art With Heart Team as we share with you the year of Colour Creations Inspirations!

This week we start with Peach Pie!

So today I have made a simple fancy fold card for you as why wouldn't I. I have made a Double Box Fold Card. I only have 1 project today as I am in the middle of making 100 boxes for Mother's Day and I have just finished a project of 45 boxes, 11 baskets and 12 embroidered table cloths for an event. I will have photos at the end of this post to show you. I hope you forgive me for a quick card today!

I have used the beautiful Country Flowers Bundle from the Country Woods Suite which you can find on page 50 of the new Annual Catalogue!

I created the base of the card in Crumb Cake and decorated it with the New InColor DSP leaf design with Peach Pie before continuing on with the focal point design.

Behind the pot of flowers I have cut a piece of the Country Woods DSP using the Nested Essential Dies. After cutting it in the largest of die in the rounded rectangle I decided that it was not quite tall enough for all of my lovely flowers, pot and stool, so I extended it by cutting half and then turning and placing the die in the grooves to line up the die correct and extending it a little more and only cutting half again.

It the Country Flowers stamp set there are 2 lots of flowers and I thought that I could stamp both sets and add lots of flowers to a bucket. Plus who doesn't like to get a lot a flowers! I have popped all of these up on dimensionals and added a couple of Peach Pie die cut flowers as well with the Basic Gray & Smoky Slate Pearls. I love that all of these stamped images can be die cut! Did you notice a little bit of Peach Pie ribbon peaking out?

I have loved to colour since the year dot and here are all the Stampin' Blends I used to colour these images.

The stool: Dark and Light Crumb Cake
The Pot: Light and Dark Smoky Slate
The Flowers: Light and Dark Peach Pie, Light and Dark  Petunia Pop, Dark Bubble Bath, Light Flirty Flamingo, Light, Lemon Lolly, Light and Dark Daffodil Delight, Ivory, Light Lost Lagoon.

Do you see the flower market stamp? I stamped that in Basic Gray after I had finished colouring the pot, you could also leave it off but I kind of like it.

On the back of the card I stamped the sentiment from the Country Flowers stamp set and cut them out with the Nested Essential dies and the card folds up neatly to go in an envelope.
