Week 40 is Real Red of our Colour Creations Showcase!
Today I have a quick and simple card for you as I had a few things on this week and a big drive into the city today to see my migraine specialist. It always takes most of the day to not only get in to see him, wait and then drive home. I am grateful for having great medical care just not for the distance that I have to to to see him. I do know that others have it far worse than me so I shouldn't complain. So I wanted to do a quick card to make sure I got it finished for you!
Today my card is kind of a spin on the spotlighting technique where the bright Real Red Daisy is in the spotlight and stands out among the elements of the card.
I have used the Daisy Lane stamp set for the main focal point of the card and coloured the daisy in with the Stampin' Blends. The daisy has both the light and dark real red and Light So saffron for the middle and Light and Dark Old olive for the stem.
To add a little bit of extra texture and flare to the card I have used the Ornate floral 3D embossing folder as a layer to give that added dimension. All the while using the Basic Black and Basic White as the neutral colours so that the Real Red Daisy Pops off the page.
Of course I couldn't help myself so I added a little bling with the a couple of Elegant faceted gems and my new favourite Mossy Meadow braided linen thread from the Dandy Garden Suite in the Jan-Jun Mini.
Now if you hold the card just right you will be able to see that I have added a touch of wink of stella to the daisy.
The sentiment that I have added to the side of the daisy on the layer below is from the Here's A Card Stamp set, I love that stamp set and I used my Stamparatus to make sure I had it all lined up and in the right spot before stamping in memento black ink like I had with my daisy before colouring it in.
I am dedicating this card to my friends who have been there for me, I am here for you and especially a dear friend that I have spoken about a bit in the past weeks as her uncle has passed away and her husbands uncle has as well, now her mother is very sick in hospital. We all need out friends no matter what is going on in our lives but especially when we are going through very hard and difficult times. Maybe make a card for a friend today and let them know you are thinking of them.

Sharon thank you for the reminder to make a card for a friend - you are so thoughtful. My favourite thing about your beautiful and elegant card is the way you've stamped the sentiment vertically, instead of horizontally - it is a little touch that makes all the difference. Thank you for sharing your Real Red project with us all tonight xx
The Real Red daisy pops beautifully, with all the white card panels, Sharon. I love that you used the Ornate Floral embossing folder; the perfect touch.
you've achieved a lovely, clean, streamlined look for this card Sharon - beautiful!
Sharon a lovely and thoughtful card and its simplicity just highlights the message. The Ornate 3D embossing folder is a nice touch too.
I love the balance of the single daisy with all the white, and the vertical sentiment looks fabulous.
Beautiful and so striking! Love this card. xx
Your card is so lovely. I love the subtlety of the white embossed panel - it really makes the black and red pop!
I love the elegance and simplicity of your card. What a beautiful card for your friend.
