Week 15 - Colour Creations Blog Hop - Daffodil Delight

Welcome to week 15 of the Colour Creations Blog Hop! I have a fast card for you today. I have a bit going on this week. You may ask what you are in lock down you can't be busy! Well I need to go get toilet paper!  Yes that is true, we have only 1 roll in each toilet. So yep need to go get toilet paper and as it is such a scarce resource in lockdown times I need to go and get it. No only joking the shops have restocked now that we have been in lockdown for so long. I also have to organise a monthly get together for my church group but we will be doing that on zoom and I need to do a recording as I am singing a solo and the recordings take quite some time. So for you I have a quick card for Daffodil Delight.

Now I don't know why but the Prized Peony stamp was saying come and colour me.
I think I have only seen pinks and purples of different shades but I did a bit of research and you can actually get yellow ones as well so I went for it. Mostly pale yellow up to some darker but mostly pale but I went for it anyway. Call it artistic licence!

So for this card I have stamped the peony bloom in smoky slate on Basic White to create a background for the front larger flower. I have popped that on to a piece of Daffodil Delight card that has been embossed with the Bark 3D embossing folder and placed on a base of Thick Basic White card.

I stamped the large Peony in Memento ink and then used my Blender Pen to colour the flower in with Daffodil Delight ink and Mossy Meadow for the leaves.

I cut out the Peony with the Peony Dies and cut out an extra shape in Vellum and attached that to the back of the coloured flower just offsetting it slightly. I then popped them onto the front of the card with dimensionals and got out the Wink of Stella and put lots of gorgeous glitter all over the luscious yellow flowers.

I thought the beautiful Gold shimmer ribbon and the white crinkle ribbon combined was just what this card needed and I tied them together and I liked the look and I managed to tie a pretty good bow so I went with it and attached it with some mini glue dots.

Now the sentiment was so fun to do. I took 3 of the 4 sentiments and with my Smokey Slate Stampin' Write marker I put the ink on just the words that I wanted from each sentiment and stamped them onto Basic White and fussy cut them out with my paper snips. Popped them up on some mini dimensionals and my card was complete with it's own personalised sentiment.

Now is the time to head to the next blog on our journey and this week you will be heading to Michele Taylor. She is so very creative and I get excited each week to see what she has created. Last week she made a wreath card that was extremely creative so just hit the next blog button to head on over there now.

If for any reason one of the next blog buttons do not work head to our weekly host, the very talented and creative  Cathy Proctor's blog as she will have the list of those participating: Cathy's Blog
Now I had better go and do that recording.
Thank you for spending some crafty time with me today, take care,

The stamped background, and the beautiful shimmer on the peony, just make this card, Sharon - gorgeous!
Would you believe, when I did an online grocery shop last week, I couldn't get the toilet paper I wanted? Most were out of stock, and I had the choice of one (inferior) variety. Craziness. Hope you had more luck!

Sharon you may have put this card together quickly but I love how you stamped the background to coordinate with your focal coloured Peony. Also love the embossed Daffodil Delight mat and of course a beautiful bow!

So glad you were able to find the time to make this pretty card Sharon. Peonies should be yellow too. You knew we would miss you if you weren't here.

So pretty, Sharon. The yellow and grey are such a classic colour combo, and you've used them perfectly on your gorgeous card.

Such a pretty card Sharon. I do love grey and yellow as a colour combo. When I was married 40 years ago it was all the rage for wedding parties. We went to four weddings in four weeks and every one had yellow dresses for their bridesmaids and grey suits for the men. I bucked the trend and my bridesmaids wore the hottest of hot pinks, which looking back is unbelievable, as I actually don't like pink as a colour at all. I can't remember what possessed me. Thanks for taking me down memory lane with your lovely card.
