Welcome to my happy place.

Hi,

Welcome to my blog. Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope that you will find some inspiration for your projects as I have from many lovely people. This is just a little space for me to share some of my cards, scrap book pages and maybe even some of my embroidery and quilting projects.

Enjoy and stop back often.

AWHT - Creative Showcase November 2020 - 5 Supplies Only

Today the Art With Heart team are bringing to you project using just 5 Supplies plus the basics of your trimmer, paper snips, adhesive and bone folder! Now this can be quite a challenge for someone like me who loves all the supplies and I must admit I wanted to add just one more but I didn't. Not everyone has a lot of supplies so I am excited to see the creative ways the team have come up with using 5 supplies.

Here are the 5 supplies that I used in my project tonight:
Product List
Today I am going to show you how to make a Mini Pocket book with 1 sheet of 12 x 12 Designer series Paper and 1 piece of card stock. Then you can decorate how you would like!

It really is quite a cute little gift idea.

All you need is 1 sheet of your choice of Designer Series paper and you fold it down to this cute little booklet that has pockets that you can add anything you like

I have used a few of the different stamps from the Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp set to decorate the inside of my booklet. Here I have cut little inserts and stamped From our house to yours and put a photo of our dog Spartacus on the next insert to give you a little idea of the kinds of things you could do.

On these 2 inserts I thought I could write my favourite Christmas recipe for shortbread or some other family favourite.

Of course there are a few more spaces than the ones I have highlighted so use your imagination and you could also write a little bit about your year and maybe a photo of you and your family not just the family pet.

I have also made a video for you to follow along with and there are written instructions below with the extra few measurement that you will need.

1. The first thing you need to do is get your 12 x12 sheet of DSP and fold in half and burnish with your bone folder
2. Open the DSP out and fold the edge up to but not over that centre fold line. Do that on both sides.
3 Open the DSP turn the paper and fold it in half the other way.
4. Now with your paper trimmer or score board keeping the paper with the single middle fold line vertical to you score at 5.1 cm or 2 inches and 25.4 cm or 10 inches
5. Fold these 2 score lines in as these form the pockets. This is where you decide which side is the outside of your booklet.
6. Adhere with multipurpose glue just at the very ends of these 2 fold in all 4 corners to create the pockets.
7. now get your trimmer back out place the long vertical 12 inch fold line on the cutting line. Line up the blade with the first horizontal score line. (you should have 3 horizontal lines to create 4 sections) Line up with the first AND cut through the other 3 LEAVING 1 section NOT cut!
8. Using the Multipurpose glue fold the section not cut back onto it self and adhere together leaving the pocket side showing. Glue just that one section. Do not glue any other section.
9. Now we can fold back and forth concertina style to form the book.
10. To create the spine cut 4 inches x 1 1/4 inches or 10.2 x 3.2 cm and score vertically at 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch or 1.3 cm and 1.9 cm
11. Adhere this with Multipurpose glue to the spine of your booklet. Making sure you leave the pocket page side open.
12. For the inserts Garden Green 9.5 x 7 cm and 9.5 x 6.5 cm
13. For Whisper White Insert 9 x 6.5 cm and 9 x 6 cm
14. Front Sentiment Whisper white is 4x4 cm and Garden green is 4.5 x4.5 cm
15. You can now decorate the inside and outside how you would like.
